Nice, small eatery/bar located away from the busy/main drag in Broad Ripple. Food… good; drinks… great; service… nice & friendly staff! Was here for a birthday bash but will be back!

Hands down the nicest outdoor seating in Broad Ripple. Would recommend enjoying it for a few hours with friends after eating at any of the nearby restaurants first, but the standard pub food is fine.

So my salad was poured out of a ready mixed salad bag, the fish just a frozen filet, the tenderloin was refried a little too much and very dry, and the margarita was ok. We never come here for the food/drinks or quality. We come because they allow dogs on their patio. Luckily our waitress was sweet and gave good and attentive service or we would have walked out like the table next to us. We come for the fact that our dog can join us and they bring water bowls. Today though, a man came over to all the table with dogs to give them treats and skipped right over our table we felt very upset that the old man coming around totally skipped our baby girl and the whole reason we even come to this establishment. Treat all the dogs equally or you will alienate and lose us for good. Lucky to get 2 stars and it was only because your staff came and loved our doggy throughout our meal.

Great location for a quick bite to eat and a drink right off the Monon in the heart of Broad Ripple. I went one night, kind of late, with my roommate. The kitchen had already closed(unbeknownst to us) but the staff was so friendly they made us a few salads and some stuff on the fryer anyhow. And it was all delicious. Some of the best hush puppies I’ve ever had. It was a simple place — but the large patio and friendly, attentive staff earned this place 4 stars.

Was definitely a bad idea to try this place over the brewpub, no beer selection, horrible food, horrible service should I say more, o yeah got chips that were stale, when we asked for fresh ones the brought out more stale ones. The place is disgusting, on the plus side maybe sitting outside was the only good thing that happened here.

I ate here the other night with 3 other friends. The service was the worst I’ve honestly ever had in a long time. We were there 90 minutes and all we had ordered was a few drinks and appetizers. The server didn’t bring our drink order for a long time and never refilled them once. I had to finally get up to find him and he STILL«forgot» to get us more water. Our food took 45 minutes to deliver and was mediocre at best. We most walked out it was all so terrible. The restaurant wasn’t even busy so no reason for it to be so slow. I’ll never go back here.

Plump’s Last Shot reminds me of that dive bar with randomly great food you’d find in the middle of nowhere, Indiana. Lucky for all of us, Plump’s isn’t in a small town, but instead in Broad Ripple. I have to say I was impressed with Plump’s on my most recent visit. The inside is somewhat of a Hoosiers/Indiana basketball shrine and the outside is a great place to sit on a spring day in Broad Ripple. The patio is dog friendly. The blackened grouper sandwich was delicious, and I like that sweet potato fries are an option as a side. With great food options, competitive drink specials, and a good location, Plump’s is a place I will be coming back to for many years to come.

Bobby Plump is a Hoosier legend. And I gotta say, God bless the guy for continuing to make money off of one shot in a high school basketball game 60 years ago. It’s kind of sad that it’s unlikely anyone will ever enter into the Indiana pantheon of high school basketball again(for a variety of reasons). This is a pretty swell Broadripple bar. It has nice outdoor seating and a all the Indiana bar classics. I came here for the Hoosier Pork Tenderloin and I must say it was pretty solid. The meat was particularly good. I was a little disappointed by the crust, which was kind of in clumps in places and sometimes hard to chew through. Still, the waitress was very prompt and the beer was cold and it was a beautiful Indiana day with flowering trees and the smell of freshly mown grass in the air…

Great place for an afternoon drink or bar food. Right off the Monon so perfect location. Great during nice weather with the outdoor lounge. Dog friendly so take that for what you will. Very cozy inside.

Do you come to Plumps for the service… God no. Do you come because they allow dogs, fry everything and basically anything goes… yes! Don’t come here an expect to be waited on in a timely manner. What you an expect is a great time. Why is it a great time? It’s a great time because in the summer it’s basically a dog orgy. All kinds of k9s. Food is fun and fried, dog action is freaky, but the service is a real funk.

Let me start this by telling you I knew what I was getting in to. I wanted a place that had a super dog friendly patio, great service, local drink specials, and decent food… in that order. That is exactly what you get at Plumps. My wife, my giant dog, and I arrived around 7pm on a nice spring night in April. We were quickly seated on the patio, which ended up having 6 dogs total at one point during our visit. We grabbed one of the communal dog bowls for our pup and ordered drink(Oberon!) and an appetizer(Hummus). The hummus was quite interesting and was clearly homemade with whole chunks of chickpeas. The menu claimed to have a tenderloin that was voted as Indy’s best, so that was the clear choice for me. My wife went with the build your own 3 cheese sandwich. The clear standouts were my tenderloin and her onion rings. The tenderloin is thick and meaty and the onion rings were well seasoned and very fresh. Service was attentive without being overbearing or rushed. If you are seeking a place to enjoy a patio on a warm summer night, with you best K9 friend, this is it. Stop in, enjoy something friend and a beer. You won’t regret it.

Plump’s — what can be said that(probably) hasn’t already been uttered somewhere in Broad Ripple. This quaint, old bar with a wrap around porch is the perfect place to relax during the warmer months. Often times, people can be seen playing music and hoola hooping in the front yard of this free spirited dive. Bring your pooch — four legged friends are welcome. Complimentary water bowls outside and a close proximity to the Monon Trail make this a great place to relax with your pup after a nice walk through Broad Ripple. It is not uncommon to see a few dogs sunning on the front porch or in the yard on summer days.

Plump’s Last Shot appears to be that cute old neighborhood restaurant. It was dead the Friday evening my friend and I hopped in for a quick dinner. Literally, no one in restaurant, and we didn’t hear/see an employee. Thankfully someone came from downstairs and let us sit where we wanted, got us a menu and returned with our drinks all within a few minutes. I’d read the reviews before and heard from friends that the tenderloin was a MUST. So we each got a tenderloin and sweet fries [meh] and onion rings [amaaaazing]. We probably could’ve split the tenderloin but both of us were equally hungry and practically inhaled our own. I’ll have to come back once the weather is nice and during the daytime to see if this place is alive then.

This is the best low key bar I’ve found. Even though it’s in Broad Ripple, it’s far enough from the main stripe to not draw the college crowd. It’s not flashy but, it;s not run down. The service has always been friendly and the food good at the very least and the soup of the day can be a nice surprise. The deck is dog friendly and they cook up a patty for your dog upon request.

I will never go here again. It is the favorite spot of someone close to me, but the bartender the night I was there was extremely homophobic and made a totally inappropriate and rude comment toward someone I was with. It was totally not acceptable, and had I known at the time, I would have had words with the person. It is never OK to be judgmental and rude. And I hope this person no longer works here, as this one incident completely turned me off of the whole establishment. It was in poor taste and a disturbingly closed-minded attitude that should never be present in a customer-service industry.

If you don’t get the name, it’s a Hoosiers reference, took me a second to realize that. Has a classic hole in the wall vibe. I only stopped there for beer, but enjoyed the atmosphere. I’ll probably be stopping by there again, possibly to try some food. There was some live music on the porch outside as well. Gotta love a porch, and live music!

I really enjoy the atmosphere at Plump’s! Every time I’ve gone there I have sat out on their deck which may actually be bigger than the seating area inside. It’s spacious and comfortable for man and beast alike. That’s right, beast. People are welcome to bring their dogs to stay out on the deck and hang out with them. They even set water out for them so you don’t have to drink alone if it’s just you and your dog. Another benefit for me(maybe not so much for Plump) is they never seem to be too packed. The menu is your standard bar food menu. They’ve got a couple burgers, a fish sandwich, chicken tenders, etc. I had the fish sandwich. I give the sandwich about a 3 out of 5. The tartar sauce was a little too sweet for my taste. I usually go on Monday nights pretty late and run to the bar for my own drinks, but the time I went early and ate the server was really good though. She was busy but seemed to have a pretty good system and a strong memory.

Man, I’m getting old. I remember crawling around Broad Ripple bars and ending up at Plump’s to wind down. Now we go because it’s quiet, cheap, and great to chat with friends on the patio. Off the strip, this bar has always been the spot to simply chill with a few cocktails and some pub food. It’s divey, but that’s why we like it! The redneck charm reminds us of home in rural Indiana where there’s only one bar in town. I took my little sister here for her 21st birthday and got her just as wasted as any bar on the strip. Heck, probably moreso because of how cheap the drinks are here. This is a towny bar, plain and simple. The common man’s haven. If you want short skirts, cops, fights, vomit, by all means go down the street.

Plump’s is that place you hit up with friends on a weekend afternoon in the summer for an afternoon drink on a decent patio and that’s about all. They have great drink specials typically, which keeps us coming back. This last trip, it was adult Arnold Palmers. The food is okay. Mostly fried and light in selection. The tenderloin sandwich is the one standout on the menu. It is huge and well seasoned. Not much in the way of small plates or appetizers to go with their bar selection. Service is where Plump’s really starts to fall down. The service is painfully slow. You can easily sit with an empty glass for 10 – 20 minutes on the patio. It’s often easier to just walk inside and order at the bar and bring it out yourself. Had a server tell us one time in conversation that she«gets so upset with people. If you want fast, this just isn’t your place.» While I’m sure we’ll go back for the patio, it probably won’t be as often as if the service were better and faster.

I can’t believe it took me a year to finally go here. The reason behind the 4-star rating is simple, the little things. I love the bike parking lot in front of the restaurant! It can be hard at time to find an appropriate place to park a bik around Brip. This place is also dog friendly, they have a «doggie buffet» with various treats and water bowls on the front porch for your pooch. I have yet to venture to Plump’s during a night out in Broad Ripple, but the food I had on my first visit is enough for me to call this place awesome! I was shocked to see crab cakes as an appetizer, so I had to order. I love crab cakes and Plump’s are some of the best I have enjoyed. I had a blacken grouper sandwich as a main course. It was amazing! The spices really made the sandwich enjoyable. Plus the filet itself was quite large. My friend had the pork tenderloin… the tenderloin itself was twice the size of the bun. Enough said, the food is great! The only thing preventing a 5-star rating is they open at 4pm… I have been attempting to be stingy with my 5-star ratings. Having my favorite food, being so close to me and not open for lunch during the week is a let down :(
