Best Vietnamese I’ve had in the states, I lived in work in Vietnam in 2013 and this has been the only Vietnamese place I recommend stateside. 84 and 10 are my favorites.

This is Indianapolis’ Vietnamese gem! I eat here 3 – 4 times a month. If it’s ethnic and on the westside, you know it’s going to be authentic(generally speaking). DISCLAIMER: Don’t go to a Vietnamese restaurant and order General Tso chicken or Orange chicken!!! 1.) You’ll look like an idiot 2.) That’s like ordering a Happy meal at McDonalds when you’re a grown adult Best phở in town! I know people who drive over an hour from Muncie just to come here to eat. Tip: Service is a little on the slow side. I find it best to go up to the cash register and pay instead of waiting on the check at the table.

You cannot get more authentic as this place. Phở of course is delicious but this is the ONLY restaurant in Indy that makes Bahn Bot Loc(a clear shrimp and pork dumpling that is a traditional dish from Hue)

I went here again and got there lemon grass chicken with rice and I thought the spiciness with the rice was amazing and I did think their service was pretty average but I would for sure choose King Wok over that other restaurant Saigon, because their broth isn’t that flavorful and their service wasn’t as fast as King Wok. And if for some odd reason Saigon and King Wok were in a Phở battle you know who would win. #KingWokForTheWin Best Authentic Vietnamese Food you can find in Indy. I also brought my grandma here she has never been to America before and she lived and Vietnam her whole life and she said the Bun Bo Hue taste just like the ones you find in Vietnam and she grew up in Hue and she is usually very judgmental about Vietnamese Food because she complains it is not authentic but she really seems to love King Wok so I give them props.

I dont know why its taken me this long to write a review for this place. We have been here many times and it has never disappoint. I rather go to this place over Saigon based on the price and portion of food. I have done both dine and and take out and service is always friendly and fast. I went here yesterday in need of some phở soup for a rainy gloomy day. I dont mind at all taking it home and assembling it since I had the right soup bowl along with soup spoon and all that good stuff. The broth was just perfect and it definitely hit the spot! Seriously if you are ever hungover, phở is the way to go for the perfect remedy. My boyfriend got his usual pork chop rice dish and it comes with a little bit of everything. This dish goes out well with a fried egg. The egg rolls were good, but wish it came with some lettuce. Good thing I had some at home so rolled the egg with my lettuce and it was perfect! Overall enjoyed my meal for our take out. The restaurant looked like they did some remodeling over the years, definitely more modern look to it. Looking forward to coming back and trying something new even though I always order the phở.

Craving phở so decided to give king wok a try. It did not disappointed! Had the phở chay and LOVED it. Fresh veggies, plentiful toppings and flavorful broth. Attentive service and great prices. I will be back!

PHOSHIZZLE. I cannot believe how much food you receive for one order of Phở for lunch. I ordered Phở with sliced beef to go and was so impressed with how it’s packaged. Container 1: Noodles Container 2: Flavored broth Container 3: Sprouts, lime wedge, jalapeño slices Container 4: Sliced beef I looked at the food and thought, «This will last me 2 – 3 meals! Score!» Then I tried it. And then I consumed it all. With fervor.

The Genera Tso’s is all soft puffy breading, like a doughnut really. Unwrap one and you’re left with a tiny piece of dry unseasoned chicken. The sauce was thick and sweet.

Mi xao don is really good. If you order this, eat it right away while it’s hot and good or else the crunchy noodles will get soggy. Soursop slushie is great. The avocado one was okay, it seemed a little watered down with not a lot of avocado. Phở is pretty good, but not the best. Excellent service though.

I came here following recommendation from a local and I was not disappointed. The name and decoration suggested that this was a Hue restaurant so I ordered two specialty dishes of the Hue region: bun bo Hue(Hue beef noodles) to eat there and com hen(rice clams) to go. Ambiance: The restaurant was a decent side, clean and neat. They sat me on the quieter side of the restaurant, until more customers arrived. Since I came alone, I appreciated the peace and consideration. Service: was courteous and quick. Every server I talked to answered with a smile. I was able to finish my meal and pay within 45 minutes of arriving. Food: was great. The bun bo Hue didn’t have all the typical ingredients I usually expect such as huyet(boiled blood — sounds gross but it’s in a lot of Vietnamese soupy dishes) or cha Hue. However, there was moc(this pork paste) instead, that was quite delicious. It could be spicier, but they gave me the chili sate I asked for to spice it up. The seasoning was spot on. There was all this pork and beef that you would expect in a Vietnamese dish(fat and tendon and all, not the healthiest but most flavorful for sure). It made me trust that their broth was authentic. It was my first time trying com Hen, so I can’t claim to be a good judge of it, but I’ve had plenty Vietnamese food and I loved it. I love the combination of ingredients(rice, clams, peanuts, variety of vegetables and bean sprouts) and the sauce added the perfect final touch.

This is the best Vietnamese restaurant. The atmosphere is very calm and nice but the food really is the wow factor. The mushroom teriyaki appetizer is amazing. The moo goo gai pan entrée is delicious. I get it every time I come here. We also really like the crab Rangoon’s. The egg drop soup is always a winner with everyone whenever we come. It’s a must if this is your first time!

The flavor of the phở is great. I wouldn’t change anything about it. But the stuff in the phở is lacking. The meat in the phở is slower getting less and less. I get the phở with all different meats. I only got half of a meatball that was cut in half.

This is definitely the go-to place for phở. Best in Indianapolis. My friend tried the vegetarian phở and I had a taste and it was delicious! Very flavorful broth. However, for everything besides phở, I do prefer Saigon Restaurant.

«Fill it up again! Fill it up again! Once it hits your lips, it’s so good!» My outdated quote from the movie Old School is how I would best describe this place. But honestly that’s how I feel about their phở, that first sip is all that you need. It’s one of the best soups I’ve had in the city and possibly the best phở broths I’ve ever had. I usually order the Phở tai(Rare beef, rice noodles, fresh herbs). The taste is almost undescribable(it’s not the MSG, I’m allergic I would know), it’s beefy, fresh, and warms you up inside. I always ask for an extra side of cilantro just to add that extra herby touch. Also, the soft shell crab platter is the bomb(I think it’s #121)! If I feel like I want to spend a little more, I always get it along with the phở! Whenever I crave phở or a fresh soup-this is the place in Indy!

Perfect place for an authentic dinner experience! This place is clean and cozy enough to welcome you whether you are alone, with a date or with a bunch of friends! I am left pleasantly surprised and proud that Indy has such a nice place to offer with very authentic Vietnamese food. The menu is quite impressive, filled with hue recipes including appetizers, soups and main courses. I had the shrimp dumplings and #84. Basically a big filling bowl with chicken, egg, shrimp n vermicilli noodles served with the fish and soy sauce. Well prepared, well served and well priced! I concluded my experience with a nice cup of Vietnamese. coffee which I highly recommend! For next time looking forward to trying their famous phos and soups, particularly #106! Also they had one server who was super sweet and helpful!

Chicken Phở. I am telling you this stuff saved MYLIFE when I was pregnant and voming for months. I literally ate here 4 days per week! King Wok is amazing. Everything is good. I have never had better Phở in the city and I don’t plan to look for better. Thank you King Wok for being so close to my office! I promise Phở even sounds good in 90 degree weather. Sincerely, Kelsi. The One who get’s Chicken Phở Once a week.

Tasty and affordable, my husband and I usually find ourselves here about once a month. Their menu is huge and offers a variety of Asian choices, mostly Vietnamese. My husband loves their fresh vegetable spring rolls and agedashi tofu for appetizers and their lemongrass tofu for a main course. I love their crab rangoon and agedashi tofu for appetizers(or even as my meal) and their dish that is similar to pad thai(can’t remember the name but ask and they will know which). I really want to try their softshell crab dish — I hear is phenomenal but huge! I need to take someone who eats seafood with me. Overall, service is usually pretty good and the food is great! You can fill up on delicious dishes on the cheap, too!

Service was kind of lacking here. At the end of our meal, it took a while for us to even get our check. And then even longer for someone to take our payment. It was maybe half full at best and they didn’t seem busy/stressed. We were told that it was cash only because their machine was broken; not sure how often this happens but just thought I should mention it. The food was okay. The shrimp spring rolls seemed like they had been sitting for awhile. The rice paper was a tad bit chewy from getting dried out and the parts where there were multiple layers of rice paper was extremely chewy. The #100, the Phở Dat Biet I believe, was decent. My boyfriend felt that the broth wasn’t flavorful enough but I thought it was okay. I’ve had more flavorful broths but I wouldn’t consider it ‘bland’. The #107 Bun Bo Hue was too oily for me. Flavor-wise it was also just decent. Not something I would order again from this particular restaurant. As for the prices and serving size, I would consider King Wok pretty average. I should mention that this is only the 2nd place in Indy that I’ve gone to for phở. I’m used to phở places in California(mainly Nor Cal) so maybe I’m being too harsh or I’m just not used to how people prefer the phở here. But if I base my opinion only on the service, I probably would not come back.

If there was only one reason to miss living on the West side it is King Wok. Yes, I am a Phở junkie. I am a true believer that whatever they put in the #105 will cure what ails ya. Also do yourself a favor and get the #10. So. Good. When we lived closer to this location we seriously ordered take out from here *at least* once a week — to the point we would call and they knew me, my husband, and our order by our voices. Even after a year of living far away, I called and got«my usual» just by voice. Man, I miss these folks. Kinda sad now that I read that back. Oh well. Since moving to the Northeast side, we have *tried* to find a good place for Phở… but no one even comes close to King Wok. We make a point of ordering take out when ever we are near or driving past the West side… just to get our fix. Skip that other joint around the corner from here(Saigon?) and just go to King Wok. Trust me.

It always begins with a «Where should I eat» question. Home? Hardly. Someplace new? Sure. Okay; what sounds good? Phở. How about King Wok? Score! I’ve never been, but overheard some friends talking about it on Tuesday. One of them claimed that King Wok’s phở broth was the best in town. That means I’ve got to check it out. Arriving around 7pm on a Friday evening, the place only had three or four groups dining, so the service was super fast. I went vegetarian for the night and ordered the spring rolls and vegetable and tofu phở for dinner. Spring rolls: instead of a peanut sauce you get it most Vietnamese places, I got a soy-based sauce that was salty, but very tasty. It complimented the vegetables in the spring roll perfectly. Mushrooms and carrots inside the roll was a nice touch too. The phở: I found myself adding more and more siricha to it as I ate. When I was done, I realized how hot and sweaty my face was; a sign that it was good! I can now confirm my friends comment about the broth, and agree completely. King Wok put a massive amount of vegetables in their phở, something others sometimes skimp on(or just plain don’t add.) Service: Super fast. Before I sat down, the server was there to get my drink order. The table next to me left as I was elbows up into a bowl of phở, and within seconds they were there to bus the table. Having a clean place goes a long way with me, and they earned points by keeping things neat and tidy. My personal quest continues for the best phở in town, but King Wok definitely makes the short list.
