Note: His & Hers is now closed. There is a sign that says it will be opening as fish and chicken restaurant soon, but no dates provided. Obviously, the star rating system isn’t really applicable here. However, I can’t post a review or otherwise share the closure information without one.

Four adults and one 4 yr old girl. It was on a Saturday a little b4 noon. They were not busy at the time. Each of the orders were brought out about 10 minutes apart. First the pancake for the young girl, then the others, one by one. A sampling of our orders included a very unsatisfactory Breakfast Bowl containing two very un-crisp strips of underdone bacon that were supposed to be crispy and broken up. Toast was burnt. Biscuit was doughy. The much-touted large portions were often child-sized. They were obviously having a bad day? Did we pick a bad day or time? There was a real problem with this place on our visit.

First let me begin by saying this place looks like an ancient run down diner. I’ve always wanted to try it out, but it seemed a bit too local for just my hubby and me to brave, so power in numbers right? We dragged my dad to this hole-in-the-wall when he came for a visit. Immediately upon walking in we got the stare-down by the local clientele. Howdy folks! Yes, we don’t belong so keep staring while we order our grub. The peeps attending this establishment are very blue collar and very interesting. I especially loved the dude who got up, walked outside to spit some snot and/or phlegm, and then return to his coffee. It’s all good in the hood. The wait staff was very good. Prompt, very nice, and refilled my soda several times(A+ for beverage service). I ordered the 2X2 which was two 10″ diameter pancakes and eggs. Holy moly those are some large cakes! I heart me some pancakes and gobbled them up like no tomorrow. My hubby got the biscuits and gravy which looked yummy(and also rather large). With the three of us, drinks and food came to a little less than $ 30. Can’t complain about the price given the expanse of food we ate. The food was good but it wasn’t super special, so I knocked off a star for that. The place was also cold. I despise being cold and having to be bundled up while I eat, so another star got deducted for that inconvenience. The place looks rather questionable inside as well. I wonder how it is meeting any code of Marion county to be honest. Buckets sitting around due to leaky ceilings, dingy blinds in the windows, and just general years of grime built up. It’s got character to say the least. If you want a truly local experience and cheap food, hit this place up. It’s worth the experience, but in all it is an old run down diner, you get what you see.

His & Hers is a well-preserved, old-timey diner. It’s got everything you expect from a diner: the counter, the booths, no frills breakfast staples, and kitschy decorations. The food is good/greasy spoon, served in large portions, and for very little dough. For $ 5, you can get 2 pancakes large enough to feed a family or four, and a cup of coffee. The service is very friendly and they will make sure your coffee cup stays full. The crowd is representative of the diverse Ft Square neighborhood. It is definitely worthy of all the praise it has received in other reviews.

Damn good diner experience. Exactly what was expected: friendly service, huge portions of awesomely unhealthy food, awesome diner vibe, and cheap as hell prices. The pancakes are ridiculous. You probably only need one. The breakfast bowl put me in a food coma. I must mention that the sausage crumbled in that thing was perfectly crispy. Peep the fun painting of breakfast on the back of the building.

Excellent service, maybe the friendliest I’ve received. ever. The food was average diner food, but it was exactly what I wanted and expected. I really visited for the Addams Family pinball machine which is way radical and offers 3 plays per dollar! I will return soon!

This is the best greasy spoon joint around– a neighborhood diner with simple, inexpensive food and– a pinball machine. After a few minutes at His & Hers you realize that most of the people here come here every day. Lots of older men sitting alone and ordering the same meal day after day. The service is unparalleled. The servers here are the sweetest people you will ever meet.- I don’t think ours ever stopped smiling. There was no pretense and no disingenuous smiles. Honest service from honest people. They care about what they are doing and not just because the shift manager told them to. They take pride in their restaurant, and it shows. I ordered the veggie omelet, and the server was kind enough to tell me that it came with cheese. While I am not vegetarian or vegan it was nice to have a server anticipating my potential needs. Everything here is incredibly inexpensive, and they have daily lunch specials for $ 6.50– which includes a drink. I can’t wait to go back and try the biscuits and gravy!

This is a small, traditional mom & pop style diner. It’s clean with good, low-priced meals and friendly service. I had lunch but saw a few diners getting breakfast entrees during the noon hour – probably their specialty. The chocolate cake looked good but I didn’t try it – home made type with a lot of chocoate icing oozing out.

Pretty good food for hole in the wall diner. Almost feels like a truck stop. Clean quaint surroundings. Friendly staff. Food decent. Hash browns good not greasy. Definitely a locals institution. Great coffee place for older guys and construction workers.

Great greasy diner/dive. Super cheap and giant breakfasts… ordered the Hungry Man’s special(or in my case, Hungry WOMAN). The bacon was awesome. Wouldn’t mind a spot like this in Chicago… even greasy dives are pricey here!!!
