I gave this place a try today while I was at work. I ordered online for delivery, and it took quite a bit longer to deliver than what they stated. It was about 20 minutes late. I got an order of fried pakora, and a vegetable mixed appetizer. Once we received them it was barely warm. It still tasted good though. My bad on ordering something fried for delivery. We also got an order of regular naan — also barely warm. For our meal we shared an order of chicken makhani, and it was delicious and piping hot! The chicken in it was delicious and tender, but there were a couple pieces that had little pieces of bone in them. I wasn’t expecting that, but it was still really good. One thing I wasn’t too fond of was that they didn’t give us any utensils or napkins. I had to hunt down a spoon just to eat. Next time I will probably just dine in to insure everything is fresh and hot. I would order again, but forget the fried foods and just stick with the meals.

I am so sorry to do this but the place actually deserve 3 plus stars but the dishonest server led me to give one star, details are as followed! We went for an early dinner around 6PM. The place is mediocre, nothing fancy but the hotel where we were staying had given a good feedback about this place. So we went in, the place was pretty empty at this time, there were may be two other tables with customers. We ordered the mix grill as an appetizer. Usually, grilled appetizers such as theses come out piping hot and you usually have to wait a few minutes before you can even touch it. But our mixed grill came out just a bit warm, like it was cooked earlier(most likely, I am pretty sure, left over from lunch buffet(take a look at the picture)) So with my over communicating personality, I politely asked the server lady if the mixed grill was left over from lunch buffet? Obviously, she wasn’t going to tell me the truth… But instead of lying straight out, she could have just blamed it on the kitchen & bring me freshly grilled mixed grill. Update: changing to 3 stars, went back for lunch buffet before leaving town. The food was good quality & did receive better service today.

All I have to say is: wow. I had no idea this place was going to be so amazing! I mean, Indian food is just a gorgeous gift from the food gods as it is but Haveli in on another level. The smell of the vegetable vindaloo was incredible and beautifully flavored, the panir pakora, alu pratha, and fulfi… I could go on. Only Indian place I’ll be eating downtown now. A+

I have been eating Indian food for many years, have even prepared it, so think I have a pretty good idea of what it should taste like. So this past Saturday I decided to try them out for lunch. When I got there the door was locked(I arrived at about 11:20); the hours posted on the door indicated that they opened at 11. So I called and was told they changed their Saturday opening time from 11 to 11:30 and that they no longer offered lunch on Saturday. Since I was already there I decided to stay even though it meant spending more money than I had planned and not having an opportunity to try various dishes. I ordered the Karahai Lamb Palak; it was without a doubt the worst Indian food I have ever tasted. It was bland and resembled a pile of mush. It had very little flavor and I don’t know what form of spinach they used but it seemed like a powdered version to me. I asked what spices were used in the dish and the ones he mentioned were not reflected in what I was tasting nor did he make any effort to offer me another option. So guess I won’t be going there again. Disappointing.

I’ve been a fan of Indian food for as long as I can remember, and am always up for trying new restaurants. Generally I gravitate toward places with buffets so I can sample as many dishes as possible, however during our visit to Haveli there was only waiter service, so I had to… decide(gasp!!) Thankfully our server was incredibly helpful, and steered me toward a dish that was absolutely perfect — panir makhni — cheese with onions, tomatoes, and fresh herbs. The garlic naan, mango lassi, and Indian tea were also completely flawless. No complaints here, just lip-smacking appreciation.

For our first delivery in Indy, we decided to go all in and order Indian food. Haveli’s serving size was quite generous for the price and both meat-eater and vegetarian agreed that it was some of the better Indian food we’d had. Delivery was quick but at some point I’d like to get the full experience and eat in the downtown location. Yum!

This restaurant has been holding a spot on my bookmark list for quite some time. We were pleasantly surprised to find a lunch buffet here on a recent Friday afternoon visit. The lighting and high ceilings are *different* but I can happily see past them for the chicken tikka, palak paneer and Chana masala. The buffet rice was on the dry side but for $ 7.99, I’m not complaining too much.

Wow! We chose Haveli based on Unilocal reviews. The façade wasn’t too impressive; so glad we didn’t let that deter us! Terrific service, very friendly, and the food was second to none. Hope we get a chance to come back on our next visit.

Don’t let the lackluster décor put you off, my wife and I had a very pleasant meal here. She had the Fish(mahi) Tika Masala and I had the lamb Biryani. Both were good size portions and were very tasty and the garlic naan was also very good. The service was quick and polite.

Rarely an Indian place impresses me. I hold each and everyone to really high standards when it comes to the authenticity of the food. That’s the only thing that sells me on an Indian place. Haveli is one such place, I wouldn’t give it 5 stars obviously but I’ll give it a good 4.5. I ordered the Paneer Tikka Masala(that and Paneer Makhani are my standards for judgement). If you can get either of those dishes right, I know you’re a good place. Same goes for Butter Chicken or Chicken Tikka Masala, but obviously I can’t eat that. I was pleasantly surprised firstly because they served papad as soon as a customer sits in(not many restaurants do that anymore). Secondly, the taste was extremely close to the food back home. The servers were really attentive and were very clear about their spice levels. You get what you order. I like it spicy all the way, any day of the week. So I told them, nay, I consented to their spice levels when she said, quote on quote, «It’ll BESPICY.» And naturally it was spicy, but not overbearing the taste of the food itself. The Roti(wheat flat bread, like naan) was perfectly made in the tandoor and nicely buttered. Rice was also perfectly cooked. A lot of the places you can tell the rice isn’t fresh and sometimes undercooked, but this place did it right. Freshly cooked rice with jeera(cumin seeds). Absolutely recommend this place for anyone who likes Indian.

Fantastic indian place. Food is excellent and in good sized portions. Go for some of the vegetarian for a change of pace. Only down side is that if it gets a bit busy they loose the overview sometimes. And decore could use a facelift. But again if you don’t want to look at it order out.

Excellent food and great service. Had the shrimp tandoori and my husband had the bhuna. Both were excellent. Garlic naan, veggie samosas, and panir pakora also fantastic. Service was fast but we were the only ones in the restaurant on a Monday night. Overall very good. They do only have one item on the kids menu so if your kids are picky eaters, that’s something to consider.

Stopped in for lunch while I was at a conference downtown, and I’m glad I did! As a practice, I avoid buffets and was planning to order off the menu in lieu of the lunch buffet. But I took a look at the food and decided the buffet was clean, well-stocked and piping hot(not one of those gross someone-stuck-their-finger-in-the-pudding places). The chicken tikka masala wasn’t as flavorful as others I’ve had, but overall the food is good quality and tasty. Plus a big, sit-down meal for $ 8? I’ll take it.

I ordered delivery from Haveli last week and OMG was it delicious! I ordered chicken tikka masala and chicken korma. I origionally ordered the chicken korma to get to the minimum $ 20 order but it ended up being my favorite! The smooth rich gravy with just a hint of coconut and cinnamon really hit the spot. The food came piping hot and atleast 20 minutes before the 45 – 60 minute quoted delivery time. The chicken was moist white meat perfectly cooked and the sauces/gravies were so flavorful! My only wish is that na’an would have come with the chicken dishes. I thought this was a given but I guess I’ll have to pay for the na’an extra in the future.

More like a 3.5. Service was great. Samosas were great. The entrée which was ordered with hot spice level was more like mild, and the sauce was not incredibly tasty. It was too sweet and reminiscent of tinned tomatoes. Naan was very good. If I go back, it will be for the buffet.

I got take out buffet here for lunch and enjoyed my visit. I am no authority on Indiana food but I love how close this place is to my home, the fact I can get garlic naan with the buffet and their low price point for a lunch buffet. I felt the spicy level was good, a decent variety of items and ease of everything. I am sure I will be back.

This is some of the best Indian food I’ve had in the US. Additionally, some of the menu items are unique to the US, but are more available on UK menus. We had take out, so I can’t comment on the restaurant itself. Also, I see they have a buffet, I don’t eat buffets and you shouldn’t either. Samosa’s were delish. Really big and plump. Full of warm smashy veggie filling. Chicken Pakoras were 5 stars with a flavorful chickpea breading and really moist, juicy chicken. Chicken Tikka Masala was thick and rich. It was so thick, creamy and full of flavor. I want to do the back stroke in their Masala sauce. Chicken Manchurian was really good, but kind of reminded me of buffalo wings. I love buffalo wings, but it was an unexpected flavor. Chicken Jalfrezi was spicy and full of chunky meat and veggies. Really good, tradish Jalfrezi. Chicken Patia was a really good dish that I’ve never seen on an Indian menu in the US. Very reminiscent of UK Indian take aways. An Indian sweet ‘n sour, if you will. Yummo. Veggie Biryani was so good and had a lot of unexpected veggies in it — like broccoli, bu it was delish and hearty. Flavor was tremendous. Bread was all good. Order was correct. The only thing I didn’t love was the mint and tamarind chutneys. These were watered down and oddly flavored(flavorless). Mango Chutney is good if you like that.

My review is for delivery only, so I can’t comment on the restaurant service or interior. Liked: *Food arrived earlier than promised — in about 35m vs the quoted 60m. I always appreciate that. *Item ordered«spicy» actually was spicy. *Good quality chicken used in my dish Meh: *Naan really wasn’t naan at all — it was a roti which is floppier and chewier. It was ok. *I ordered vindaloo and it really wasn’t a vindaloo sauce. I’m guessing they took their standard«curry» sauce, threw some potatoes in and called it vindaloo. Nope: *Tiny portions. They sent«maybe» a cup of rice and there were only 6 – 8 chunks of chicken in my container of «vindaloo» sauce. *Samosas are super bland and boring. Dipping in the curry/vindaloo sauce helped somewhat. *The delivery guy didn’t bring any utensils or a plate despite my note on the order that it was going to a hotel. Hey guys, I’m at a HOTEL — meaning I don’t have a kitchen. I wasn’t thrilled at having to schlep down to the lobby in my jammies to beg for a plate and fork. Overall — «meh» sums it up. Haveli wasn’t the worst Indian I’ve eaten but it wasn’t anything I’d voluntarily order again. They do deliver though, so that’s something.
