Apart from the old men staring at you in the bathroom, it’s not that bad for Indy. Cash only is kind of annoying, but the place has it’s moments occasionally

This place kills me. It’s almost too much fun. I have a love-hate relationship with the cash only. It helps me keep myself in check, but I hate going to the ATM when I’m just trying to have the time of my life and paint the town red. Do you want to dance? You can do that here! Play pool or darts? I dare you to do it! Smoke on that beautiful elongated patio out back? Please do it and bum me one when I’m out. The drinks are usually just perfect or strong(which isn’t that bad of an idea to me) and they are affordable! Just go next weekend and have the time of your life!

You know those mornings you wake up and your brain knows you can’t handle ALL the memories from the night before so it gives you bits and pieces each hour. Well, that’s what happened with Greg’s. Did we go to Greg’s? Oh my god we did.

Greg’s is a pretty average gay bar for Indy. They have some decent events that are worth showing up for. Weekdays tend to be dead and boring but at least on Tuesday night they make up for it with gay bingo. $ 5 for 7 cards, so it’s some pretty cheap entertainment. There are some good prizes to be won and even some cash prizes. Drink prices here aren’t awful, but keep in mind it’s a cash-only establishment. They have some good specials a lot of days, but drink prices seem to vary by the day. Friday nights are very busy, and as such are more expensive. Speaking of busy, it seems that Friday’s are kind of Greg’s nights. Busy bar and dance floor and a pretty good crowd. Staff is always friendly and efficient, unlike other bars in Indy. They have a nice little outdoor section if you want some fresh air. Overall, it’s worth stopping in. Just keep your expectations in check.

Cheap drinks + fun music + dancing + cute boys that don’t creep out females = heaven. I love coming here when I need to dance. $ 1.75PBR on a Sunday was a delightful treat to help soothe how poorly I was playing pool. Beautiful giant dance area.

I’ve only been to Greg’s a few times but have always had a good time. Parking can be hard to find. There is a little parking lot by the building, I’ve always been lucky and found a spot. Greg’s seems to get busy Friday night about 1030. They have line dancing Friday night with a coach who will teach you. Greg’s is broken into sections, a very large bar and pool table area, dart games and the dance floor. They also have a smoking area in the back. The smoking area is long and skinny so if you are a nonsmoker there really isn’t anywhere to go for fresh air. Greg’s is cash only but they do have 2ATM’s in the bar area. Greg’s also has pull tabs — fun but probably a waste of money. Doesn’t stop me! :). Greg’s does not sell good but there is a good truck always outside the door! It can get very crowded but with all the open spaces it’s not too bad.

Be careful with the strength of the drinks. I’ve gotten into trouble after what I thought was a reasonable amount. Great bar overall, I’ve gone with friends and although none of us are gay we loved the atmosphere. I can walk home from here, but after a bad experience, I think I’ll still take a cab for safety. It can be ridiculously loud and hard to talk in here, but it’s a club, so what do you expect.

Best Gay Bar in Indy! Drinks are very inexpensive and are always strong. Brad and Shane are the best Bartenders I’ve had at any bar. Give it a shot, you won’t be sorry!

I am pretty sure I have been kicked out of this place, like, just about every time I have gone here… so let’s just consider that a testament to how strong their drinks are. I am gonna go ahead and give them four stars anyway because I wager that it was probably not their fault.

Nice, dark dancefloor. I am picky about DJs(being one myself), and sometimes the DJing leaves a little to be desired, but if you just wanna cut loose, have a good time, and not be gawked at by people parking on the dancefloor, it’s a good place for that. Drinks can be a bit on the pricey side(this ain’t Chicago, peeps), but my last Red Bull and vodka there was vodka with a splash of Red Bull, so… eh… who’s complaining, really? I know it’s a bar full of mostly dudes, but damn… one bathroom stall for the ladies? A bit frustrating when you really have to go, but waiting always becomes an adventure in meeting new people, so thus far the waits have meant entertaining company. I like that there’s a little smoking area out back, which gives you a moment to cool off, and people are mostly pretty friendly, so you can chat and be silly while you engage in your terrible smoking habits(I smoke. Not judging.) I’ve had a lot of fun every time I’ve been there. I would only encourage the DJs to pick a vibe and run with it, and not toss in hip hop in the middle of some crazy, high energy set. Take it up, bring it down, and keep the dancefloor flow moving. :)

This is my favorite place to dance in Indianapolis. It’s a gay bar, if you care, but you shouldn’t. I’m kind of a picky person when it comes to dance venues. I have discriminating standards for the music. I can’t tolerate a tiny, empty dance floor, especially if it’s right next to an entrance or hallway and subject to random people crowding you. I hate when it’s not dark enough and people sit at the bars and just stare en masse at the two people dancing. With those standards in mind, here is my club hierarchy: Space: Greg’s has a better dance floor than the metro, casba and the melody inn, but is about equal to Talbott’s. Talbott’s dance floor is bigger, but Greg’s is darker and there is far less«parking on the dance floor,» if you will. Music: Greg’s plays better music than Talbott(with exception of some rare talents that pass through the side room, but the dance floor in the side room is no good), the melody inn is kind of a mixed bag for the electronic shows, casba has pretty solid music as does metro. Greg’s really wins in atmosphere. You want stories to tell the next day? Come here. I love this place so hard.

I drink a lot. I mean, I’m a fan of booze, what can I say? But at Greg’s the drinks are so strong that I have to cut myself off at two or three. To me, that’s a good thing. The drinks are cheap and the beer flows like wine. The crowd there is fun and lively and everybody always seems to know each other. Ah, Greg’s. Maybe I will go tonight!

Now that they are non-smoking, no reason not to give 5 stars! Fun time, music is loud, but not ear splitting, bartenders are fun, and drinks are cheap.

Where you’ll find me on Tuesday nights. «What is Our Place?» That’s correct, and let me tell you why– I’d been in Greg’s before, for a couple of IYG events, but it was weird, I was the only woman I spotted and there was a performer, and no one was tipping her except me, so I pretty much stayed with Talbott. That is, until one of my fb friends mentioned Bingo and on a whim, I checked it out, and walked into one of the most friendly, crazy(don’t deny it) and fun things to do on a Tuesday. It is definitely something I look forward to, and I like drinking where I don’t feel obligated to dance, because I cannot. Plus, I won! How cool is that? Just don’t take my seat when you go– you gotta go sit with the losers in the other room. :)

Probably the best gay bar in Indy. No smoking indoors, nice long deck out back, darts, pool tables, videos, generally a nice mixed crowd, bingo on Tuesday, country dancing on Fridays(early). The owner tends to keep things up and constantly make it a little nicer.

Greg’s is one of the few bars in Indianapolis that caters to any crowd. Lots of fun happening here and the only place I’ve been to with a crowded but friendly Country Line Dancing room on Friday nights until midnight(show up at 9:00 for Line Dancing Lessons). The bar is also pretty busy on Saturday nights as well and even host a drag show Monday nights. Any other night of the week it’s fairly casual. This bar is smoke-free(indoors only)! But also has a back patio for smoking. Neither bars accept credit cards, but they do have an ATM machine to get some cash. They do not have a VIP section, but they do have second floor seating, which gives a view of the main bar area and a good place to see who is coming in the front door. The bathrooms are a little sketch, but what can you expect from a gay bar… Overall, I always have a good time here… except when it’s time to push through the crowds on a busy weekend. See you there for Two-Stepping! =)

Oh, the only place for a drunken gal to go to feel like a million bucks, even though she’ll lose her shoes on the way home. Oops. Sorry, guys, for ruining the best gay bar in Indianapolis by being That Girl.

(a.k.a. OP’s, Gregs Place, Our Place) This is the gay bar that appeals to most of the LGBT community in Indy. My favorite part is Fridays before midnight(starting at 10PM or 11 — not sure) when they have Country Line Dancing. It’s a blast to watch as well as participate — there’s always a nice lady or gentleman to teach you if you don’t know how. After midnight, Pop and Electronica takes back over. Also available are pool tables, dart boards, dance floor, smoking patio, and two bars — one you can sit down at, and one near the dance floor. Weeknights, the place is dead — a good place to play pool with your friends if you don’t mind the soft-core gay porn playing in the background.
