Stopped in here more for the art than the café portion. While the café and bakery options looked delicious, my favorite thing was all the local art on display and for sale.

I’ve come here quite a few times throughout my years of inhabiting the Square. It’s a good local spot for coffee and what’s great is they have awesome local artwork that changes frequently. That’s always a plus for me, and the owners are really nice. A lot of other business owners/workers stop in here as well as neighbors for a cup of jo. I always get the chai latte which is a great winter beverage for me! I don’t do coffee as much, but they are always quick and very polite to me! Definitely a great spot to meet up and a lot quieter than other coffee houses which is a plus for those who study!

This is everything a coffee shop should be. It’s independent, local, eclectic, artsy, comfortable, and the coffee is great. The staff member made a pastry recommendation when I wanted a snack but wasn’t sure what to get. They also sell art and jewelry from local artists and have plenty of outlets to plug in electronics. I highly recommend stopping by.

Alas! I can’t believe I haven’t written a review yet! I go at least every 2 weeks. The owners and workers are nice, there is great art, gelato, truffles, and art galore! Come here for coffee, $ 4 or so gelato, $ 2.50 chocolate truffles from a local maker, pie, cake, and more. Stay at the comfy booths(with wifi and outlets!), look at local art(available for purchase!) — including Indianapolis artistic postcards, jewelry, handmade journals, and more. There’s a lot of Indy pride featured in the art lately — maybe pick some up for the house?

I’ve gotta come here more often. This place is just a ton of fun, and a welcome change of pace from most other coffee shops in town. The mixture of art, coffee, desserts, and music is perfect for just about any time of day and any time of year. I didn’t even realize the place had a back patio until I’d been a few times. I find myself only coming here on First Fridays, and somehow only find out about happenings here by walking past the place, but I’m hoping to be around more often. The Funkyard is just too cool.

Pricey, but excellent remote work location. $ 4.09 for a coffee, $ 5.19 for a milkshake… It can add up here, but there’s a nice atmosphere and great seating(ESPECIALLYTHEBACKPATIO) with free wifi. This will be a go-to on nice sunny days!

Cool little place with some weird artsy items. Got some fantastic pistachio gelato and a couple of cookies. Not a lot to review, but those couple of things were great. And my wife bought a weird bottle-magnet thing.

Watching the snow fall while I sip on my chai(sans the cheap syrup) latte. I don’t get the chance to visit Fountain Square often so this is a real treat… especially for a Wednesday at 4:30! I walked in with a little bit of trepidation because i never know what to expect when I enter a new place. I was immediately greeted by a nice smile and a nod from a patron sitting at the table near the door. The music level in here is perfect. The barista was friendly and when I asked about some of their drinks he was happy to answer. I opted for the chai latte and it was the best decision I ever made. Even with skim milk it’s so rich and flavorful! The additional cinnamon on top brings it to a level of perfection. It’s a relaxing atmosphere with plenty of beautiful pieces of art to look at. Such a great way to support local artists! I look forward to coming back for more chai lattes! And when the weather warms up I am eager to try the gelato!

Really enjoyed this place. Small and cozy — perfect for a couple wanting a quiet spot to relax. My wife had hot chocolate, which she loved(and she is picky about hot chocolate). My coffee was outstanding. I also had some gelato(it was good but overpriced for a scoop). They sell local art in there, too, if that’s your thing(it isn’t mine, so I can’t give a fair review of that). I would definitely come back here!

Nice little coffee shop in Fountain Square. Stumbled upon it when we walked by while visiting nearby. Half the shop is filled with art and jewelry, which you can purchase — anything from $ 5 to hundreds and up. There’s plenty of interesting stuff to keep one perusing for a while. In the back is where the coffee is served, and where I had a gelato. I forget the name of it, but it was a vanilla, chocolate chip, and caramel blend. Delicious! They don’t make their own gelato but it comes from a local source.

I love warming up with a cup of coffee at this great location. It’s smack dab in the middle of Fountain Square and within walking distance of everything which is nice. It’s also perfect for catching up with friends or having meetings. The artwork is always changing and has items in all price ranges. Great drinks(there is food and ice cream as well), great atmosphere, great location, and great service!

The fact that the coffee and muffin choice is always good enhances the coolness of this place. Cool art and a nice vintage vinyl collection(art and vinyl for sale) make this coffee joint a neighborhood treasure.

So I came in here with my wife and we both ordered lattes and shared a pistachio ice cream. Based on my latte I would give the place a 3.5−4 stars because it was light and easy to drink with a mild flavor. However, consistency of lattes is an issue. My wife asked me how I was liking my latte and I said it was okay and described it exactly as above. She was surprised and grabbed my cup to taste it and then forced me to try hers, which tasted like burnt coffee with dirty water, it was terrible. She had been trucking through it only because I seemed to be enjoying mine. I’m not too sure if we’re going to come back. Maybe for ice cream, but not for coffee.

Coffee, espresso drinks, pie, coffee cake, cookies and the awesome Palazzolo gelato(the same kind they sell at Goose the Market downtown) in a neat atmosphere filled with local art, handmade jewelry and vinyl LPs for sale. Friendly, helpful service makes it a place you want to come hang out in frequently!

The espresso milkshake rocks! It’s one of the few Fountain Square spots actually open on Sunday. The owners are nice enough, but the gentlemen is a little gruff. No, a lot gruff. Slightly off putting.

To the point: Order the spicy mocha and peruse through the eclectic vinyl, art and knick-knacks while the kind & friendly owners craft your drink, appreciating that such a colorful, unique coffee shop exists in Fountain Square. Go for the espresso milkshake or plain iced latte on warmer days. P. S. There are Etch-a-Sketchs strewn on the café tables. One time, we found an Etch-a-Sketch with my name already etched on it… spooky.

Ordered a Latte with a double shot of almond and this has to be one of the best Lates in the city. They also have a nice small but unique and eclectic selection of items in the store to browse and shop.

Friendly?! Wow I wish I would have gleaned some of the friendliness other people have reviewed here. The man behind the counter said all of 10 words to me! I was given the up and down look by the man behind the coffee counter, he then breathed«can I get you something?» I asked for a large espresso. After a few minutes of browsing the prints and original art work nearby, my coffee was placed on the counter. He then uttered his next and final five words«Sugar and creamer behind you.» Nice. I like to support businesses in Fountain Square but this LACK of GOODSERVICE makes it hard to.

Two words: Espresso milkshake. Two more: Try it. You would(correctly) guess the milkshake is my favorite item at the Funkyard, no matter the time of year. But they also serve great coffee, and are really friendly. Sassy, but friendly. Great patio out back, too! I like the variety of art that cycles through here, including handmade jewelry, cards, bags, etc. They have a small collection of vinyl tucked in here, as well. And they serve gelato and pastries from local bakeries. I’m not sure what else you could ask from them!
