I love this market every week! The Wild Alaskan salmon, paleo almond butters, Hubbard & Craven mochas, Lick ice cream, Phelps & Schacht farms, the apiary pollen(and now beeswax candles), the baked paleo treats, fresh produce, the music, the people, all make for a happy start to the weekend!

What a fun Saturday morning spot! Bent Rail is the perfect venue for the winter market, as there is plenty of room for live music, vendors, and dining in. I stopped by for the usual Thai iced coffee from Hubbard and Cravens and also picked up a cinnamon roll from Taste’s table. Both items were lovely. Taste’s baked items are always moist, fresh, and decadent. I look forward to staying for brunch as the plates coming out of the kitchen looked tasty. Just like the Broad Ripple Farmers market of warm months, this is a very family-friendly place with plenty of excellent foodie options.

How does one up the farmer’s market game? Put it inside a brewery. Not only do you have plenty of shopportunities, but also you have your boozy brunch destination under one roof. Who’s all there? The list includes several familiar farmer’s market vendors, including: –Lick(ice cream) –Tulip Tree(cheese) –Rene’s(pastries + bread) –Home Ec(preserves + pickled products) –Circle City Sweets(baked goods) –Hubbard & Cravens(coffee) –Artisano’s(oil & spices) –Wild’s(apples) –Eagle Creek Apiary(honey) –Anna Belle’s Garden(fruit + veg) –Phelps Family Farm(meat, poultry, & eggs) –Schacht Farm(meat + eggs) –Revival(almond butter) I can’t forget to mention that Bent Rail has debuted their weekend brunch menu, which includes breakfast sandwiches, biscuits & gravy, bloody’s, corned beef & hash, and a gravy-covered belgian waffle. Need a recommendation? The waffle is pretty out of control in the best possible way. Don’t make other meal plans that Saturday, because the sweet and savory dish will stick to your ribs all day. Whether you’re one to seize the day or stumble in hungover, start your weekend right at the winter market!

This weekly event is pure synergy. Beer by itself– good. Farmers markets by themselves– good. Put them together… The BR winter market has been open for two weeks now, and both Saturday’s have been fruitful(pun intended). In all seriousness, the market has fresh produce from local farms, locally crafted cheeses, honey, baked goods, and so much more! While strolling the booths, you can order a changing breakfast menu made by Bent Rail that utilizes local ingredients found in the market! Feel free to bring the children, order a beer, or a Bloody Mary(or do all three). There is live music playing and most vendors accept credit cards. One of the cool things about this market is that it is participating in the double snap dollars– which helps make fresh produce affordable to all. My only wish is this was year long. I know, the market heads north to the Broad Ripple Farmers Market– but farmers market in a brewery is so much cooler. The market is open on Saturdays from 9 – 12. Eat, drink, and shop local!
