Had a really enjoyable time here and the pizza was great. I got The Luke — which is a buffalo chicken pizza, but they had a ton of pizza varieties, and more importantly, some really unique toppings! It was a little crowded when we arrived and were told a 40 minute wait. I was pleasantly surprised that we waited probably more like 20 minutes. Nice beer selection and bar area. Note they have beer and wine, no liquor.

Empty restaurant and they still won’t seat you. Go somewhere where they appreciate your business. Jockemos has better pizza. B’s po boys has better sandwiches.

If you’re from any major pizza city; New York, Chicago, Boston, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh dont come here! Pizza pie is not even sliced into slices! It is cut into squares like Pizza Hut! Sooo disappointed! Cheese on the pizza looks like frozen pizza! They dont even make true calzones or strombolis! No one here makes anything authentic italian. Not what I expected from reading all these reviews.

Great. Greasy. Pizza. You don’t come here for anything else(and I’m dead serious, don’t waste your time on the side ‘salad’). When I need that pizza pick me up, Bazbeax’s delivers. It’s a causal joint so don’t expect over the top service. They serve you. You pick your table and devour. Everyone is happy.

This place never disappoints. The service was quick and the waiter and waitresses were very friendly. For this visit I enjoyed the veggie pizza which was recommended by a friend. I was glad I tried it. It was near perfect. I would definitely recommend.

This place has solid pizza, but it didn’t live up to the hype. From the reviews both on Unilocal and from the locals I talked to, this was one of «the places» to get pizza in Indy. I went with the Tchoupitoulas which had Cajun shrimp, house roasted red pepper, red onion, andouille sausage and fresh garlic. In theory it has green peppers too but I nixed those… it would have been too much veggie for my tastes. The pizza was delicious… though it seemed to take a lot longer than pizza normally takes. The 12″ is a good size to share, but go for the large if in doubt. Three of us split two 12“s … but I didn’t touch the other one and instead opted to eat about 2/3s of this one. It’s good pizza… you should give it a try… but it didn’t amaze me.

Bazbeaux pizza cannot be beat. I can never decide between The Luke(buffalo chicken) and the Quattro Formaggio(lots of cheese, mushrooms and *take note veggies!* bacon). I also love getting the bread with cheese and pesto. And I can’t say enough about The Cookie. Eating outside is fun during the spring and summer, as the people watching is always good. Delicious pizza at good prices.

It’s all in the Ingredients! Save the next 10 minutes Unilocal searching for the best Pizza and environment, you just found it! Traveling destination: This is my second trip to Indy in 3 weeks, and after my initial carry out order of the Colossus pizza, I came back for a lunch dine-in and loved both experiences. The pizza: I love the cheese!!! The meat and vegetables are high quality and fresh, the dough is soft and crispy at the same time. Service: The service comes with a smile, except the bus boy, he seems like he could use some additional tips or pay to put a smile on his face. Atmosphere: Downtown feel. A step or two above the local pizza place your used to. There is also outdoor seating during warmer times. Parking: pay to park on the street. Costs around $ 1.00-$ 300 Around here: lots of shopping and sites on the same street.

Excellent pizza and properly one of the best in town. Prices are pretty good but the side salad is lacking. The side salad is only lettuce with nothing else but dressing, but for a 1.95 you can’t expect too much. Service is good. Nothing fancy about the restaurant. Only tip is to get there early for lunch as it get crowded and parking can be challenging downtown. Recommend the pizza with everything. I would recommend this place.

Had an early dinner with the kids here. Options were pretty good — plethora of pizza toppings as well as pie sizes. Ordered two pies — a medium to be shared by the kids and a small just for myself. The pizzas tasted great — kids nearly finished he medium by themselves. As they are picky eaters, that was an accomplishment. T.

The pizza was crisp and delicious. What enhanced the flavor was purchasing their pesto apart. The pesto is beyond amazing! We ordered the Bazbeaux special pizza and combined that with their pesto, you won’t regret it :)

First and foremost, this is my favorite place for pizza. They have done well at capturing the Mass Ave theme and mood, while keeping it family friendly. We started with the Garlic Pesto Cheese bread and i highly recommend it. I think next time we will try it without the pesto. It has a perfect balance of cheese, grease, and spices. I asked for a cup if pizza sauce to dip in. I was delighted that the pizza sauce came out hot — further proof they care about every detail. And then there’s the pizza. We got the 16in Pizza Allabeaux Quattro Formaggio. It was such a great pizza. I asked for the mushrooms on the side because my friends and wife do not like mushrooms. They were willing to cook them on the side and give them to me hot. The price is reasonable, the atmosphere is perfect, and pizza is the best. Whether you are looking to hang with friends, take your family out for a special night, and/or enjoy a popular spot on Mass Ave, Bazbeaux will not disappoint!

When Bazbeaux first opened in Broad Ripple in 1986, it quickly built a reputation as one of the city’s finest pizza joints. 30 years and two more locations later, including this location near the South end of the Mass Avenue Arts District, Bazbeaux is still considered one of the city’s finer pizza options despite the growing battle for the Indy pizza dollar. I’d been to the Broad Ripple location of Bazbeaux, but had never been to this location and figured it would be a pretty terrific way to snag my 300th Unilocal review. 300 reviews? How did that even happen? I arrived shortly before 1:30pm knowing I would have a little time to chill out before an out-of-town friend’s arrival from a nearby protest at the Statehouse. This location, which moved from a nearby downtown location in 2011, offers outdoor dining and fairly easy access to Indy’s trail system. There’s also a dining room area and a bar area. If you’re familiar with the Mass Avenue area, then you know that one of my main concerns, accessibility, can be an issue with a handful of metered accessible parking spots($ 6 for four hours — credit cards work in meters) for those businesses that don’t have the prized private spots. Curb cuts are plentiful and nearly all of the crosswalks have flashing signs with audio. It is not uncommon for businesses in this area to have access issues, both into and around their business. Getting into Bazbeaux isn’t difficult, though the restaurant itself has some serious access issues that would make me recommend wheelchair users avoid solo dining unless you’re on the higher end of independence. These issues include narrow aisles and, in fact, they had to move the host’s pedestal for me to have access — they did this without hesitation, but it’s still an issue. I do give them kudos for offering me a booth — too many restaurants stereotype that someone in a wheelchair always wants a table. Sometimes, we do want to get out of our chairs. A planned 20 – 30 minute wait for my friend turned into 90 minutes, my server(whose name I never got and my friend picked up the check) was friendly and hospitable despite having someone camping out. I ordered an appetizer of garlic bread($ 2.25, $ 3.50 with cheese) and kept my meal simple with a small(10″) pepperoni pizza(about $ 8.05). As my wait became longer, I finally ordered and had lunch while waiting on my friend to arrive. They do carry Mighty Leaf iced tea, a nice alternative to the usual mega-chain brews. I did get multiple refills, though I will note we were pretty much ignored(I believe our original server left) as we lingered in conversation. As my friend was coming from a rally for women, I couldn’t help but notice that when the female server dropped off the check she dropped it off almost exactly in middle of us and didn’t project any sexist stereotypes that I would pick up the bill. Bazbeaux has always been known more for gourmet pizzas and I believe this is where they excel. They also offer a gluten free crust(which my friend ordered). In terms of the basics, I find Bazbeaux a bit lacking. There wasn’t anything particularly wrong with the pizza, though I found it a tad greasy and rather ordinary. I could instantly think of better options(Jockamo, WB, Napolese), but it was good enough and reasonably priced. Given that I also had to pay for parking, I definitely wouldn’t rush back for it. I appreciated being able to linger with my friend, though toward the end of our time as the crowd grew I did kind of get the«Are they ever leaving?» feeling. They never said it, though the vibe was there. As we left, I again had to have the host station moved so I could leave as the place was full and there wasn’t a single aisle I could wheel through — quite honestly, that’s a potential fire hazard and they definitely lose a star for accessibility. Ideally located in the constantly developing Mass Avenue area, Bazbeaux may no longer be the city’s best pizza but it’s still a solid choice that is conveniently located and offers friendly service and outdoor dining. They have pizza by-the-slice options at lunch during the week!

The menu is extensive with pizza choices along with beer & cider. The cider on tap is lovely and local. I had the Bazbeaux Special pizza. The toppings were okay; the garlic was practically raw and cut too huge. If it was nice sliced garlic or roasted, it would be much better. The problem here is the crust. Its flavorless & colorless with texture similar to a saltine cracker. It isn’t chewy or delicious, quite a shame. The basis for a good pie is an awesome crust. This one was crumbly and tasteless. :( On the bright side, the service is friendly and prompt.

Stopped in here for a late dinner on a Saturday night and were seated right away. Which was great, because our group was starving. Service was a bit slow at first– I felt like our waters took a bit too long to arrive. Our waitress, Morgan, did a great job after that. Solid beer selection. And, the pizza. So many different varieties! I ordered the Mexican pizza and it was great! Had a bit of a kick and the ingredients were fresh. We also ordered the cheese garlic bread– so good! Make sure to request a side of marinara(for an up charge).

First and foremost, the pizza here is excellent, particularly if you enjoy interesting combinations. The Garden is one of my favorites; I like it with wheat crust, and it comes with spinach, artichokes, olives, peppers, ricotta avocados, tomato sauce and their cheese blend. All of the toppings are fresh and delicious! The crust is the perfect balance of crunchy and chewy. I’ve never had a bad pizza from them, and have tried many varieties both in house and as takeout for work events. Service can be a little spotty; it’s never terrible, but is definitely better sometimes then others. At this latest visit, there was no one at the host desk for a bit, and then when we were finally seated our server seemed very much in a hurry to get us to put our orders in; seriously, we were still in the process of getting seated and getting coats off(it wasn’t crowded, we had no small children with us, and it wasn’t anywhere near closing time so I’m not sure what was up). We ordered our sodas, and then our server was back about 60 seconds later to again see if we were ready to order our pizzas. We decided quickly. We then suddenly seemed to have two servers; both kept coming by to see if we were done. We weren’t asked if we wanted anything else, just how we wanted the check split. On other visits, service has been totally fine. Anyway, definitely come for the pizza, but be ready for a few service glitches here and there!

Bazbeaux has so many great things going for it. They have a great lunch special that I can’t recommend enough but what I really want to talk about is the Quattro Formaggio pizza. Lots of cheese, bacon, and mushrooms. It is by far my favorite pizza there. The cheesy garlic bread is a great starter as well. They also have a great selection of local beers and a super friendly staff. Once our pizza was«slightly» burned and the waitress was super apologetic and even took a bit off our check at the end of the meal even though we insisted everything was fine. The multiple patios also offer great people watching during the spring and summer months.

Bazbeaux is far and away my favorite place for pizza. The nearest location downtown is a 40-minute drive one way for me, so I don’t get to enjoy their delicious pies as often as I’d like, but when I’m in the neighborhood, I’ll go through the hassle of parking on Mass Ave to grab one to go. My favorite is the Quattro Formaggio pizza: romano, cheddar, ricotta, mozzarella, provolone, bacon, and mushroom. So good! If you arrive during peak times you may have a short wait, but it’s not usually as long as other places on the strip, and worth it.

I found out about Bazbeaux from Indy Unilocalers and their reviews so knew I had to try it! I love pizza so any excuse to try a out a new pizza place is good with me. I was in Indy with a group of friends for a Pacers/Cavs game so we figured pizza would be the perfect pre-game meal. We all got 10 inch personal pizzas and shared. Every single one we got was DELICIOUS. The fresh toppings were great and I loved the mix of flavors! This location, which is about 15 minutes walking distance from the Pacers stadium, is huge! There is ample outdoor seating, a huge bar area and a huge regular dining area up front and in back. I’d imagine that they rarely have issues seating large parties. Yay! I’m definitely a fan of Bazbeaux!

When most Indianapolis locals think of where to take people from out of town when they’re craving pizza, 9⁄10 times it’s Bazbeaux’s pizza. It’s like the craft beer of pizza. This has been and will always be one of my top 3 pizza places in the city and there’s a reason why it’s always ranked high in local reviews. They have a variety of options for meat eaters and vegetarians/vegans alike, not just one or two options. The food is always fresh and the variety of beers is always a plus. It’s one of those places you go to whatever season to hang with friends or family and have a nice, fresh meal, with lots of smiles and good service. This location always fills up quickly during the dinner rush, so be sure to plan ahead. Try to sit outside when the weather allows! I always get the house salad with the dressing on the side — it’s the epitome of a fresh Greek salad. The garlic bread claims to be award winning but I’ve never been a fan of it. The fresh mozzarella plate is always a nice treat for an app too. Their lunch specials are always a good idea. A bit pricey for what you get, but it’s quick, easy, and just as delicious — with a variety of options so you can mix and match the pizza. At the Mass Ave location? Entertain the kids with the hidden army men!

Technically I’m taking quarter to half a star away. So 3.5−3.75 stars… Anyways the place is obviously in downtown Indianapolis. Really nice warm inviting interior. Open view from the main room and bar area of the kitchen/ovens. I rate pizza on three levels. Okay-Good-Great. So I’m from NJ/NYC so I know pizza fairly well. The plain pizza. Okay. The andouille sausage. Good. The manager special with Italian sausage. Good The garlic bread. Okay. Now as the pizza itself: It was all around good. The areas I found to be a little underwhelming were the cheese and the crust. The cheese and little too heavy dense and oily. Not bad just a little chunky IMO. The specialty items on the pizza are what counted for me. Really really tasty sausages. Since this place has a great staff great environment and extremely local I am totally excited to make a trip back there. Oh and on the weird side the large pies are cut in a grid like form rather than the simple 8 slices.

All the reviews both on and off of Unilocal said this was a place not to miss in Indy. Although I grew up in Indiana, I hadn’t spent a lot of time in Indy so I was excited to see what I was missing. As expected, there were a lot of people waiting when we got there but they moved everyone fairly quickly and we found ourselves seated in about 20 minutes. The place inside is a pretty big space. The waitress was great at making her rounds and seemed very attentive to everyone’s needs. We ended up ordering two pizzas and both were really great! One was vegetarian and the other had sausage and mushroom and there was nothing left of either within minutes! Bazbeaux is located on a pretty hip street with a lot going on, many drinking options, and just a lot of energy. If you’re looking to make a night of it, this isn’t a bad starting point!

Ordered Bazbeaux’s about a month ago while I was in Indy for work. I was at the convention center and needed about 6 large pizzas. My co-workers and I are from the Chicago area so we didn’t want some generic pizza place, we wanted something good from Indy and Bazbeaux’s came as a recommendation. We were all extremely impressed with their pizza menu. Especially the Veggie with the artichoke hearts. Such a diverse and large menu! Called the place over the phone to order delivery. It was a very long day for me at work and when I ordered I was confusing myself with how many pizzas I was actually ordering. The guy over the phone was incredibly nice as I apologized for my mistakes and blamed it on the long day. His response was genuine saying, «That’s what I’m here for!». The pizzas arrived hot and were so delicious. The crust was the perfect amount of soft but crunchy on the bottom. I absolutely LOVED the artichokes on the pizza and the sausage pizza was great too! I will definitely be ordering Bazbeaux’s again the next time I’m in Indy and that’s saying a lot since I’m from a city that prides itself on pizza!

Bazbeaux has to be up there with the best pizza in Indy. Any location is always a good(and delicious!) experience. I typically go to the Broad Ripple location for dinner but was recently introduced to the lunch special at Bazbeaux and I am forever changed. You can get a slice of pizza(typically they have cheese, pepperoni and one or two of their specialty pizzas available to choose from), a side salad and a drink for basically $ 6. That is a steal for lunch if I’ve ever heard of one. Add some garlic bread, and you have a great meal. Even better — you go through somewhat of a buffet line at lunch, so no tipping! Definitely will be back to the downtown location for lunch. I’m a fan.

Wow! I’m from Austin a huge foodie town and damn! This place was amazing! We have a place here called home slice that I think is all that and a bag of chips. This exceeded my expectations. We had the Quattro and mediterranean. Both were good but I would give the Mediterranean my fav choice. We went during pride weekend by accident and it was freaking busy. Didn’t like the crowds but it was a good atmosphere. The price could be a little steep for two pizzas and an appetizer. 75 total but I’m no stranger to paying for good food. Wish they were in Austin. But then again I would be the size of a whale. Indy til next time we meet again!
