At first thought, I do like this store a lot. But then I put on my Unilocal review hat and it is not the 5 star I’d like it to be. Aisles of chairs, decorative everything yes, but I think the prices are too high overall. They do have their everyday red slash through the barcode as 50% off, but those items are few and far between and have to be found– there is no «sale» section. I generally always have to wait in a check out line. Returning items was not a bad experience, just had to wait awhile for the only cashier to be available. Can you find cool items? Yes. Can you spend over an hour browsing, easy. Still, I stand by my tip of needing more sales/coupons.

The prices are generally higher than I personally want to pay for the quality of goods offered. They have aisles of throw pillows, patio furniture cushions, planters, art work, etc. It’s fun to browse though & find some novelty items(a Doctor Who T.A.R.D.I.S. shelf anyone?). It may be my own little quirk but shouldn’t a home décor store try to show what can be done with their products? A perfect example would be the women’s restroom. If they would use some of their items to spruce this area up it could very well translate into sales. It would certainly take away from the«ewww» feeling it currently has.

At Home is the new and«improved» Garden Ridge. They have all the same stuff that they did before(which I will detail below). The prices seem a bit higher, and the discount was not as good at the first sale I attended. Normally the day after Christmas, everything is 75% off. Most items were only 50% off, and some were even less discounted. They have a huge selection of home décor. I understand why they changed their name, as gardening is only a small portion of what they have(although still a huge section). They have a ton of seasonal decorations, as well as out-of-season items, some discounted(like Halloween decorations 95% off in December) and some not(like beach items and garden gnomes full price in December). They have a ton of things for entertaining, and items are grouped by theme. So if you are having a football party, you can find tailgating coolers, football chip bowls, touchdown glasses, all in the same section. They also have a huge selection of rugs for very reasonable price. A couple things that bring down the review a bit. First, the store can get in disarray and it is hard to understand the layout. Second, finding staff to help you can be a challenge. Finally, some of the items they carry are really junky. Overall though, a great place to find deals on home décor.
