Delicious! I had the French dip with horseradish and it was perfect! My husband had the chicken fried steak and it was really really good two hand breaded steaks, mashed potatoes gravy, green beans and salad! Lotsa food, and good! The cheesy tots were good but the serving was small for the price.

My only complaint is that it can be a little pricey at times, but for what you get it is worth it. The food is exceptional! The special on Friday nights is a 12oz sirloin with choice of side and salad for $ 14.99, I believe. The service is very good and the staff is friendly. You can enjoy live music on Friday and Saturday starting at 6. The menu has bar food with a few more upscale twists. The burgers are HUGE and are tough to beat. It can be busy at times but you will usually get in right away! If you’re looking for a good night out I would highly recommend Uncle Jack’s.

We took our grandfather(a local) here for dinner and we had a great time. The staff recgonized him as a local and greated him like he was a long lost relative(so nice). There is a community vibe to this place. The draft beer list was amazing — lots of local choices, plus some Texas beer. I had the chicken philly cheese sandwich, which I highly recommend. I added a side of cajun fries, which was a little disapointing. They are large cut potatoes with some pepper on them. It wasn’t spicy for me, and I could be «kicked up a knotch». Grandpa had the catfish special and boy did he love it. Overall great service, great location, great selection of food and beer, easy street parking. We can’t wait to go back when we’re in town.

Im a Engineer from California doing a Job for John Deere. My company requires me to travel all the time. I’ve been all over the US. What I look forward to the most is eating in new places. All I can say about this place is excellent! The food is fresh and delicious. The chicken fried steak and sides were amazing! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone.

As others have mentioned, the no kids policy is strange. Why not just say«no kids after 8 pm?» It’s totally strange in a town this small to decide to limit your business in this way. We went to Maria’s Cantina instead.

Went here with some friends based on an ad ears on the radio. The food was fantastic! Great burgers, excellent homemade chips and fries(Cajun fries were a lot over seasoned but not a big deal). Drinks were cold. The atmosphere was fantastic and the service great and friendly. It was also very busy, which is a good sign to me. Highly recommended.

My friends and I stopped in at Uncle Jack’s on a Friday night while visiting Independence. The place was packed with locals, but we managed to get a table for dinner after only a short wait. The staff was very friendly and accommodating and the owner came over to our table and talked us through the menu highlights. We had a great time! There was a terrific musician playing live music. The owner told us that they have karaōke on Saturday nights from 9pm — 2am. We might have to check that out!

Here’s a tip for all of you folks picking up airplanes or doing pilot training at Cessna — Uncle Jacks is an unexpected treat. I was in Independence for four days and ate here three times. Excellent steak, terrific hamburger, and the chicken fried steak was fantastic(but way too much food). French fries were really good too — and I’m not much of a french fry guy. The owner and his wife came by our table to visit a couple of times and they’re both very nice folks who run an excellent restaurant. Uncle Jack’s made an otherwise pretty dull stay in Independence a lot more fun.

This restaurant has a cool environment and looks like it would be a great place to eat. We decided to go in and they refused us service because we had our daughters with us. On the door they state no admittance to 10 and under. Wow! Are you kidding me? The place was empty on a Saturday afternoon. We had 7 in our party and would have gladly dropped a bill on a late lunch. Their loss. They won’t stay in business long with this attitude. What a shame. My advice is if you are going to discriminate, don’t let in anyone under 18 but why even bother opening your doors before dinner or the weekend with this rule. Take a business course people.
