This place is in transition and is now a Red Roof Inn. This place was a dump! We came in for a. concert and unfortunately this was the only place we could find a room. We were charged $ 159 on 6⁄27 where today I see the same room for $ 59.99! First of all… The building was not marked and sort of confusing to get to. And this place DIDNOT remotely resemble the pictures and descriptions on . The room had not been swept or cleaned. The room stunk of cigarette smoke when we requested a non smoking room, the sheets. had stains, the luggage rack was damp from paint, cigarette burns on everything including the bedding — floor — curtains — and every surface. There were dirty old mattresses in the hallway, the ground fault was cracked, the TV remote back was missing and was taped together, our room keys did not work, the security door was broke and the lock was missing. The outside hallway was absolutely filthy. The bathroom was just wiped and not cleaned. We did not receive our wake up call as requested. This place was an absolute DUMP! We asked to be switched to another room but was told there were none. We even tried to go to other places but everything was booked. This us a last resort motel… Remember that when booking.

Needs updated. A lot. If you’re like me and very picky about where/what you’re sleeping on at night don’t stay here. The sheets had stains on them, the towel rack was broken off the wall, and above the shower there was about three feet wide of mold. One of my friends rooms did not have working air condition. I just really didn’t enjoy my stay and didn’t feel comfortable. Staff was friendly though.

As we drove up to the hotel we looked around and wondered were we in the right place. The photographs used on depicted a facility that was pleasant and was sure to suit our needs. The only need it suited was shelter. The building cracks, unkempt shrubbery, unmarked parking, and disheveled curtains, informed us of our poor choice immediately. Unfortunately, we had prepaid and this was our accommodation for our stay. We entered our room with outdated, torn carpet, yellowed walls, dimmed lighting to match, a box television, and sheer disappointment to accompany our room. On the good side, there was a full sized refrigerator, a stove with foiled paper on the burners, a microwave, and a desk. We sat on the bed and noticed we had a guest to join us, Mr. Flea. Where there is one flea I am sure there are millions, the room had fleas. We informed the front desk and they were pleasant and changed our room. This room was slightly better due to the improvement in lighting and less dinginess. The Super 6 sits in between several buildings, so there is no view of anything accept walls. You have to be on the inside areas of the building to have a view of the dirty pool that no one in stifling heat swam in. We are still looking for the bar/lounge and restaurant. It is nonexistent, unless they are including the facility that blocks the view of the city view. However, hotel amenities are only those that belong to the hotel. The garden is quite interesting, in the fact it is just that a garden. This is no place sit or tour. It seems as though the owners have it for their own dining purposes. The profile states it is suitable for children. If my children were there, I would have made other arrangements. This is no place for children. All of the in room details are completely inaccurate. The pillows were the equivalent of airplane pillows. The comforter and blankets were paper thin and definitely not down. The phone was interesting because all of the insides were missing. The circuit board was visible and there were no numbers to dial. The ipod dock was probably stolen, if it ever existed along with the other items such as the coffee maker, cooking utensils, clock radio, and dishes. I would love to go down the list of missing items, but, here is the jist of it. There is absolutely nothing in the rooms. Absolutely the way, the pool in the room must be the bath tub, and the stopper did not work. The hot water in the bathroom sink was defunct however, the shower had great hot water, unfortunately, the shower head only produced trickles and drops of water. This place was too good to be true and we somehow knew it when we reserved it. I am sure they want all of the amenities included on their profile, however, it is simply a place to rest your bones. It is no place that will make you feel comfortable or safe. People are walking the halls at all hours of the night, the smell and smoke of burnt chicken filled the building. If you just want to save money and be on guard during your stay, this is the place for you. However, if you are looking for an actual hotel/motel, just know the Super 6 Plus, Independence Missouri is the not place for you.

I’m writing this review based on my expectations of what I expect out of a stay at a Motel 6. I was welcomed by possibly the friendliest desk attendant in any hotel I’ve ever stayed at. The guy was unbelievable. The room was fresh and beautiful… large with a fridge, full compliment of cable channels and new furniture. I’ve stayed in worse places and payed triple. I’ll be back when the ChiSox play the Royals
