Credit where credit is due, this is the premier training center in northeastern ohio. The facility is beautiful, the coaches are talented professionals and the atmosphere is great. A word of caution to prospective new students: you will be intimidated when you walk in. there is always a lot going on, the classes are often packed and it can be overwhelming at first. Give it some time, you’ll learn to love it.

I can only speak for the fittness center, as I did not use any of the MMA features, but honestly, it was by far, the worst gym I have ever used. When you first walk through, it seems okay and it was close to my office and reasonably priced, so that was a plus. However, the place is not well kept at all. The locker room(which is actually just a glorified bathroom) is beyond dirty. We’re talking sticky floors, puddles on the floor… It’s gross. The equipment is very close together and there are not enough weights — I always had to hunt down free weights. I worked out in the mornings before work and instead of turning the air conditioning on(In July), they always just propped open the door. Everytime I would walk by the thermastat, it would read at least 80 degrees, which when you’re working out and sweating is a lot. The staff members are rude and their«trainers» look like they would benefit from taking some of their own advice… I also signed up for what I thought was a month to month membership and when I went to cancel was told it was a one year contract and I would have to pay a cancellation fee, which was reallyy irritating. However, I’d much prefer to pay a cancellation fee and be done with this place than ever have to come back again. I left for a gym that was slightly more expensive and further from my office, but the quality of equipment, professionalism of staff, and overall cleanliness more than justify the extra expense. My advice: If you’re interested in the MMA side of it, ask someone else… But if you’re only interested in the fittness center side of it, avoid it at all costs.

I had no idea this gym was here until recently when I began looking for a new gym. I cannot believe I have not heard of this gym yet! I asked a friend of mine who is a personal trainer about it and his reply was«that place is hardcore»…and that is exactly right! If you are looking for status quo, this place is NOT for you! If you are looking to kick your fitness routine up a few(or many) notches… then this is IT! There are several MMA Pro Fighters that train at this gym and there are numerous MMA classes. Boxing too. I was very impressed with the facility and the options. Not sure I’ll go the MMA or Boxing route, but it’s there if I feel adventurous enough to check it out. They also have conditioning classes and no two are the same. These classes are good for the beginner as well as someone that is super fit and needs something more hard core. As for the gym portion, they have machines I’ve never seen before. And a few I’ve heard of, but had just never seen in person. You know the«Jacob’s Ladder» featured on the Biggest Loser? Well, Strong Style has a MANUAL version of it(the one on TV is motorized). I’m pretty fit/athletic and I barely lasted 2 minutes(no joke peeps). They also have all the regular machines(treadmills etc.) with a few other«specialized» ones including two treadmills that go up to a 30% incline. Word. For those with kids… they also have youth MMA classes. If you are looking for a gym that mixes it up and will challenge you, then this is the one!
