The Falcon Center is a gym, hang out for teens and hosts various local events occasionally. Its also been poorly up-kept. The facilities include locker rooms(which apparently you have to rent the lockers even if you just want it for the day), a sauna, two hang out/party rooms, a full gym space for Basketball and events, a weight room, and a very tiny exercise room off that(treadmills and ellipticals.) The locker rooms are bare bones to begin with. 2 private showers and a communal one. Who has a communal shower in this day and age? This facility can’t be even 20 years old? And when I said sauna you probably thought ‘in the locker room’ right? Wrong. Its a beautiful sauna, but there is only ONE… and sexist-ly it leads right out from the boys locker room. Its ‘communal’ and one must be fully clothed to use it, and whether you are or aren’t you’ll be out of your way walking to it. The ‘wait’ room around it is no bigger than a closet not helping matters. Every time I’ve used it I’m the only one in there, which makes it seem wasteful to me, why not have one in each locker room? Or build a small changing room around it. I’ve never heard of being fully clothed in a sauna, its really not useful that way. They don’t even have towels nearby, there’s only one place to get towels, which is the check in counter. The weight room is really out of date. And there’s no notices to wipe down the machines and no availability of stuff to wipe down with. So… gross. Same for the workout machines. They packed them together so that’s great if its busy, which it rarely is. They’d be a lot better off to par down the machines and keep the good ones and make it more comfortable in there. Most of the machines are old, dirty and broken down. The nicest elliptical doesn’t work and hasn’t since I joined, the staff doesn’t seem too concerned about it. Its also either too hot or too cold in that room, its very odd. The price is nice for a membership or day, but I’d rather give more money to have better and cleaner working machines.
