Goldfish Properties at Lake Tahoe

We’ve been renting from Goldfish Properties for the past 11 years and all I can say is that they’re terrific. There usually aren’t any problems, but when something occurs, they jump right on it. For example, a simple thing like the barbeque running out of gas — a phone call to Goldfish and there’s a fresh tank installed within an hour! Any repairs that are required are seen to promptly. Basically, Goldfish, and especially Sue Harbaugh can’t do enough to make their customers happy.
Anyone can list and rent a property. It’s when a problem occurs that the true quality of the rental agency becomes apparent. Over the past 11 years there have been occasional problems and Goldfish and Sue take care of them immediately. They’ve got excellent maintenance/​repair and cleaning personnel at their disposal and want only to make their customers happy.
We wouldn’t rent from anyone else and have already reserved for next year. Their service is definitely above and beyond.

My family & I stayed at 1094 Tiller Drive in Incline Village, NV. The home is beautifully landscaped and the town is quaint~ my advise to anyone renting the property is, if you have any problems that need to be addressed please ask to speak to one of the owners~ Boyd Golden is awesome! He truly cares & is willing to help~ thank you !

We have used Goldfish 2 – 3 times each of last few summers and we are always pleased with the quality of the properties. The website is excellent. The map search feature on the site makes it so easy to zero in on properties in your desired location. The property photography is fantastic and enables you to quickly browse and find the kind of place you are looking for. Goldfish makes the whole experience simple. The staff is always friendly and responsive. I highly recommend using them for your next Tahoe vacation!

The house we rented was exactly what we wanted and fit the description.
A true test of a business is what happens when things go wrong. We had a stove and microwave that didn’t work when we arrived. The issue was promptly dealt with by the friendly maintenance team (turns our lightning zapped the electrical). Sue, our contact, was very responsive and helpful.
I’d would recommend them to a friend for sure.

We just had another awesome experience with Gold Fish Properties. We have been have renting Vacation properties over the past 6 years and they have always exceeded our expectations in both cleanliness and Properties.
I want to thank the front desk staff and management at Goldfish Properties for going above and beyond their duties of customer service.

I’m sorry to report that I have had a very poor experience with this company and I do NOT recommend trying to rent from them. I agree with Conor’s review that these people are incredibly unprofessional and very poor communicators!
I received very rude and disrespectful treatment from both Mike (the owner, who never answers his phone or returns emails) and Elizabeth, a sales rep, despite being incredibly polite in all of my communication, and providing all of the information requested of me in a timely manner. It’s very clear that this company does NOT care about their rental clients AT ALL, only about the bottom line. I’m thankful to dodge the bullet and not rent from them. It would have been a nightmare to deal with this on a long-​term basis. Thankfully, I was able to find a beautiful home in Incline using one of the many other leasing companies in the area.

Overall, I had a very poor experience dealing with Goldfish. Communication was unsatisfactory and we were often left hanging with ongoing maintenance problems. Tried to deal with management but was turned away in an unprofessional way. Would be very hard pressed to recommend prospective tenants or property owners.

I am updating my review as Goldfish has tried to assist in helping us locating a misplaced item. They have been very helpful in stark contrast to what some others have experienced.

Kudos to GFP! These guys came through on a moment’s notice and provided a fantastic one-​bedroom condo for our family. If it wasn’t for them, we may have been the Stolpas all over again.
Plan was to have Christmas dinner with family, then head down to Reno. Four hours and two feet of snow later, that was not an option. GFP stepped up and provided us with an immaculate, affordable, rustic place to watch the snow fall (and let the stress melt away next to a gas-​lit fireplace). Will definitely use them again! (btw — this may be read months from now, and thus not apply, but anybody interested in going skiing now is the time! It is a winter wonderland up there).

Useless. They had this woman who never returned peoples messages so they fired her & the owner took over & seemed nice at first but then went ballistic. Seems like everybody says that. I’ve never talked to anybody who thought they delivered any value to the homeowners (just go to VRBO & contact landlords directly if you need a short-​term rental, e.g., 6 mos., plenty willing to do it) & never talked to any renter who thought they were anything other than rude & unhelpful.

More like 3 ½ Stars but I’m rounding up because I had a great time with the people I shared this cabin with.
We recently came back from a weekend in Inclined Village. We ended up booking through Goldfish Properties and we were glad that we did. The booking process was fairly painless and easy.
Our cabin was more of a lovely furnished home… located at 333 Woodridge. This was a 4br/​3bath house with a capacity up to 14. There was only six of us so there was plenty of room for all of us.
The downside for me were a few minor details that I thought they could do better with:
1. Cleaning fee of $ 300. I realize that all establishments charge this fee… but since we were spending $ 325/​night, it just seems rather steep in comparison. In addition, they required us to clear up all trash and do all the dishes. I’m not sure about other people, but minus making the bed, that all the cleaning up of our «mess» that we needed.
2. This is super minor, but there was a huge storm that weekend. Goldfish Properties has hired service to snow plow the steep driveway… nice detail! However, they occur later in the day and we had trouble getting out on Saturday morning to Northstar. On Sunday, one of our cars even got stuck in the snow.
3. Not enough towels. For a location that’s supposedly able to accommodate 14, we only had one towel per person. Since we used the hot tub, this posed as a bit inconvenient that they didn’t have any extra linens.

I went up to Tahoe for my friends wedding. I booked MS51, a 2bd, 1.5ba condo. It was so comfortable and relaxing. For a 2 night stay it was $ 448, but I split the cost 4 ways between me and my friends. It was great to have pretty much a home away from home. We were located just 3 mins from the lake and casino, driving of course. The property has 2 swimming pools, a washer and dryer and ample parking.
Booking the room on the website was very easy. I didn’t have any issues with them over charging me. We first checked into the main office and the lady was very helpful with locations of places to go in the area. One of the better beaches way better than the $ 12 per person private beach down the street, is the Sand Harbor beach, $ 12 per car. Sand Harbor is just a 10 min drive up and the sand is way softer to your feet, and so worth it and you save a bundle of money. I am for sure going to come back here with some friends next year to relax for the summer.

Why do they keep filtering an honest, less than flattering, review of this rental company from a regular old mom who vacations with her family?
I’ve never had this experience from Unilocal before. Makes me want to tell folks to beware of this place.

I was in charge of planning this years work retreat and searched for weeks for the perfectly priced cabin that could sleep 14. Just when I was about to give up, I finally came across the perfect location but on another website. I googled the address and stumbled upon Goldfish Properties. After adding the rental fees, taxes and cleaning fees, Goldfish properties came up with the lowest price and didn’t require a 3 night minimum. I was able to book at ease through their website & didn’t need to call for any clarifications nor confirmations. Be sure to read over the contract. Your credit card will automatically be charged the optional insurance of roughly $ 75 if you do not opt out by fax/​email. When we arrived at the office, we were checked in in less than a minute and off to the cabin. It was perfectly described and exactly what we expected. We’ll definitely be renting from this company again. Completely hastle free and check-​out was smooth sailing.

I’ve rented from Goldfish 2 times and was very satisfied with the rental process and the properties. However, make sure you don’t leave any of your personal stuff behind. You’ll be screwed. I called the next day and it took them a week to have someone check the property for my stuff. They found a few things I left in the drawer but one very important item was missing. I was very upset that this one item was missing and talked to the owner. I told him someone who had access must have taken my item. After yelling at me and telling me it was my fault I left my stuff (yes I know that), it was snowing out and he was too busy to deal with me (hmm guess customers who have already paid aren’t important any more), he HUNG UP on me. What ever happened to the customer is always right, or how about, it’s really bad for future business to hang up on the customer that just paid you. So as much as I’ve enjoyed my stays at the 2 properties, I’ll never use Goldfish again.

Goldfish has a good selection of properties for rent but I must say it’s not a good place to have your property if you’re an owner. Great if you’re the guest. They take little to no responsibility for the properties and even when a guest carved their name in our wood floor, they refused to help us the owner recover damages from the guest. They charge too much for cleaning services (they mark up the price) that do a mediocre job at best. Needless to say, we wouldn’t use Goldfish again for management services.

The folks at Goldfish Properties helped us find a nice, dog-​friendly cabin with almost no notice this past weekend. We decided to take a trip late in the afternoon this past Wednesday and had an affordable cabin secured by early evening. I called early in the afternoon to get recommendations and a price quote, but you can do all of that online. I paid online later at night and everything went very smoothly. We arrived in Incline Village after the office closed, but it was easy to pick up the keys and paperwork in the lockbox outside the office. The staff was very friendly — they even included a big box of See’s candy with our keys in the box!
We rented 1362 Corinthia Court, a dog-​friendly 2 bedroom 2 bath high in the hills near Diamond Peak. We had to do a lot of shoveling while we were there — Tahoe got between 4 and 8 feet of snow this weekend — but the stay was very relaxing otherwise. Glad to find a place that takes dogs and was still very clean and comfortable.
