University of Phoenix is kinda sketchy. I strictly signed up for UOP, because it is what worked with my schedule. Unfortunately, The Valley makes it a bit more difficult for you to get your classes together, because a lot of the leg work takes place in San Diego(i.e. the actual set up of your classes, financial stuff, etc). Getting a call back from someone in a timely fashion is an act of God. And if you don’t stay on top of what you are paying for, they WILL riip you off. UOP returned a Federal Loan to the Fed’s that they were not supposed to, and then demanded that I pay them the money that was left to be paid on the account. Sketchy. Of course my loan covered it, but they returned it, for absolutely no other reason other than most people would not have caught the«mistake». I refused to pay, and then went as far as threatening to take my education else where. Eventually UOP gave up, ate the bill they created, and I still attend to this day. Be firm with staff. Because they are one of those schools who lives to make money off of it’s clients. Go into your education with UOP with the mindset that they do work for you. Make sure they don’t forget that, and make sure you don’t either. The moment you do, they will start taking money from you left and right. With courses costing 12k a year, just be careful. This is a great place for all those American’s lucky enough to qualify for financial aid, for those of us(i.e. me) who are not so lucky, this place is an up hill battle both ways. If you are lucky enough to be covered by financial aid, check out National before looking into UOP.
