I had no clue as to what American Legion Post was. My friend explained it to me like, it’s a military club. My co-worker Virgie works for the kitchen and invited some of us to come and try her food. She catered several times for company lunches and it was good. So my manager had set up a painting class and they were nice enough to let us host it in there. My first impression of the place: A very nice building from the outside. Inside– like any other bar you’ll see. They have a pool table, jukebox machine, and cheap drinks. You have to be military or be sponsored by a military personnel to drink here BUT the kitchen is open to the public. We were sponsored by Virgie and was able to get some drinks. Food, let me tell you, it doesn’t look like much and it looks like bar food. Here’s the secret: Virgie is an excellent cook. She can make food off the menu, let her know in advance or ask her what she is able to make off menu. She is very good at Filipino food. I asked her to make me some Filipino pancit. She threw something last minute and made premium pancit with juicy chicken and veggies. I know, pancit doesn’t come with a bunch of veggies but Virgie can customize it. She also has lumpia on the menu(which comes with 5 for a very low price). The food here is good Filipino food! The menu also has American food. My other coworker got the roast beef and it was such a big portion and flavorful. If you are in the area, I would recommend the kitchen food as it is free to the public. Ask to speak with Virgie and her husband to see what they have available off menu or try the affordable menu! Also CASH only. It’s such a shame that it’s sooooo far from me! I heard breakfast is good too!

Cheap drinks with other military and vets and their families. Can’t wait for the big new building to come! It’s going to have a huge covered patio so we can drink/smoke outside. And I can’t wait to host a private party there for my daughter’s birthday in April.

Are you a member? Are you a Veteran? This is a great place to be with people who know what you have done. Great drinks and great company of people who know.

I love coming here for cheap, stiff drinks and great company. Sometimes there’s food, sometimes there isn’t. You’ll need to check the monthly calendar if you’re looking to eat there since the food is always changing. Mostly older ex-Military patrons in the hizouse but it’s cool for us young folks too. I usually go in around 7 to get a pre-fade with a group of friends before we roll out. Used to be able to smoke inside(it’s a private club) but they banned that this year. They just re-modeled the outside patio area so no fear! Make sure you’re a member or go with a member or they won’t let you in!
