My fiancé and I decided to take a mini-vacation and of course all the hotels up and down the coast were booked, except this lovely little place. We were pleasantly surprised that a hotel with 2.5 stars would have a beautifully refinished bathroom and the softest sheets I’ve ever had at a hotel.(And this is coming from a woman who has never stayed at a hotel that wasn’t the Hilton) There are a few cosmetic issues here and there but either way, I would definitely recommend this lovely little place for anyone looking for a comfy bed minutes away from Long Beach, an awesome price and a sweet hostess. We will definitely be back, soon!

So, I pulled up & saw the office sign. I went in and it wasn’t an office, it was a laundry room/cleaning closet. So I went back out & closed the door behind me thinking I had made a mistake. So as if the room had changed, I opened the door again & went in expecting to see a hotel lobby. But to my surprise I was still in a laundry room/cleaning closet. I was very confused at this point, wanting to check in. So I went back into my car & called them. The lady said she was on her way over & met me at the same«office» door. She walked in, pulled down a makeshift shelf that made the laundry room look a little more like the place you’d check in. And we were given the key etc. Room 1 is what we got & here’s the review: upon first examination it’s definitely musty. It’s old, the carpet is pretty bad & has rugs on it on the worst parts. So keep your shoes on. The comforter smells. I immediately took it off & put it on the floor. If you saw my pics you know that furniture is old, stuff is rusted & chipped. Room 1 is facing the street so you get some noise from semi trucks going by at night. The door is on its last leg. But besides all that, it was clean, the bed was comfortable & it was inexpensive. Staying here felt like I had gone to stay at my aunts house out in the country & had popped in unexpectedly needing to stay in one of her old rooms. It has that kind of old«homely stuff thrown together» feeling to it.(And I’m not implying that my real aunts are anything like that. Just sayin) Over all I would recommend this place if you need a cheap quick sleep. But I’d probably stay somewhere else next time. Somewhere w cleaner carpets.

The place is cheap and let’s me bring my dog without extra charge. Nothing special but is always clean and quiet. I’ve stayed here a few times.

Reasonable rates but musty. Confusing check-in via phone with woman eventually coming to room and disappearing with credit card. Lots of smokers on patio next to rooms so our room reeked like cigarettes even with the windows closed. Allows dogs but there was no place on the premises for them to go to the bathroom which was not convenient.

We stayed here in the beginning of August 2013 and were pleasantly surprised! We enjoyed our stay. The room had very minor maintenance details, but was clean, and the gal that runs the place was very helpful, accommodating, and friendly. We would definitely stay here again. If you are picky and are looking for a four star hotel, this isn’t it. But if you are looking for an economical place to stay with a friendly, homey atmosphere, this is your place.
