Rain made huge ruts enabling our cars to get to our site easily. Very packed campground which is loud. Our campsite wasn’t clearly marked causing conflicts with our neighbors. Violent neighbor who harassed us. We were there a day early put our tent up. During our day hike we got a call saying people showed up complaining of our tent. Had to rush our eight mike hike. Not a relaxing weekend. Usually campsites are clearly marked. Also the restrooms were nasty for the price we paid.

We came in on a Monday in April, the place was nice and empty. There were maybe 7 other campsites being used out of over 80. Each site was a good size. We were very happy to see the grounds were very well kept. Flush bathrooms were clean. They had showers, but we did not use as we only stayed one night. The grounds had lots of nice tree coverage and cool big boulders scattered in some areas. Kind of like a cross between Big Bear and Joshua Tree. We walked through the Hillside trail, was a nice short walk, not too much elevation. No campground ranger on Mondays. Dogs are allowed. Check temperature before you go, since it’s at elevation, nights can get chilly!

Decided to do a last minute camp getaway and booked a spot at Iddlywild Campgrounds. Happy to report, have nothing negative to say. Tent sites sizes are amazingly big. And are staggered so you’re not so close to the other campers. Showers and restrooms are clean. Park staff are very Nice. I love that the provide storage for your food. There’s some noise from the local businesses but that’s just something to expect. No biggy. Views and surrounding mountain areas are beautiful. No lake. But if you take the 243n for about 5 miles you’ll run into Fillmore lake. Great for fishing. Bass, trout stocked often. Overall experience, five stars. Almost forgot 4g reception.
