I will never go there again and would not recommend this store to anyone. Go to Adams Cyclery in E. Northport on Larkfield Road. I brought my bike in because the shifter got stuck and I snapped the cable. They finally called me two days after the bike was supposed to be ready, and said I needed to order a $ 65. shifter. They said they tried to fix mine but it was broken. I went down to the store to talk to them and was treated so poorly that I took the bike back without having it fixed. I then found Adams Cyclery on Larkfield Road and brought the bike there. The guys at Adams fixed the shifter for no charge and charged me only $ 4.99 for a cable.

This is my first-ever and probably last Unilocal review. But Bicycle Playground inspired me because a good bike shop with friendly, pleasant service on LI is hard to find. These guys are fantastic. Great service, no over-the-top salesmanship, and excellent mechanics. A total pleasure.

Great local shop in the heart of Huntington NY. Most importantly you will almost always see and deal with the owner Alex. He knows everything about bikes and knows that people aren’t walking ATM’s — He’s in business to please his customers first and letting the money part take care of itself. At least that’s my perception after dealing with bike shops that carefully and skillfully try to pick your pocket while maybe fixing your bike. I would recommend BPG to anyone in the area…

BEST! Bike service I’ve had so far. Id spend more money to support a good business. A must if you’re looking for bikes. The owner Alex knows what he’s talking about and will not pressure you into anything but let the bikes speak for themselves

Great selection of top brand bicycles and accessories. And knowledgeable people – Alex Z. runs a fantastic shop, something that the area needed. Not to mention that Alex is a great guy. Recommended.

Went in the other day while wondering around the Town of Huntington. I still have the same Panasonic Sport Deluxe from about 35 – 40 years ago, Weights a ton. The store is descent size and has a great selection of bikes too choose from. Bikes have changed a lot in 35 years. The bikes now are about ¼ the weight at most. I spoke with the owners wife who was very friendly and helpful. She went over each bike and the advantages of each. She really knew her stuff. As soon as i am ready i will definitely be back, Bicycle Playground will be the only place I go. The owner told me to come back when ever I want for a test ride any any and all of the bikes. Wow wow Knowledgeable, Friendly, helpful & test rides I will definitely be back.

Customer service at it’s best. I was in town from California preparing for a triathlon and found some issues with my bike after putting it back together from the trip. Alex took a look at the issues right away and after an initial pass suggested that I might need a new wheel set. Looking at a few other options, he simply tightened the rear hub that was terribly loose which straighten things out and I was on my way, free of charge! After a test ride, I was so pleased I brought it back to have him replace my sticky brake cables. Having internal cabling, Alex explained the potential need to replace the housing if it was the actual issue and re-wrap the bars if he couldn’t easily get through my integrated bars. He was honest about turnaround time given my race schedule and his service log. Right on time, I got a call that the bike was done and upon arrival, I found that he only replaced necessary(and discussed) items. I couldn’t have imagined a better experience and was happy to bring him more business. Now that I’ve moved to NY, I’ll be sure to go back for my cycling needs.

Great local bike shop. Selection for all level of riders and super helpful staff. They don’t oversell you a bike you don’t need, they sell you the bike you will ride. I won’t take my business anywhere else.

All I can say is what a breath of fresh air this little bicycle shop is! Alex the owner is fantastic and not at all pretentious. His young staff are eager to please. I took my old 80s road bike in for a complete tune up. Alex showed this vintage Italian racer(not me, the bicycle) the respect it deserved. The bicycle rides like new! The prices at this shop fair and Alex is very knowledgeable. When I’m in the market for a new ride I’ll take my business to Bicycle Playground,

We have purchased a variety of gear from from the staff at Bicycle Playground. We also had a bike tuned up there. Alex is helpful and extremely knowledgeable about everything in the shop. It is a pressure free environment to check stuff out and try things on. To go along with all this, the merchandise is very well priced. This is our«go to» bike shop on Long Island.

This will be my go-to bike shop now. Having shopped and used both the other local shops over the past couple years, this one seems to be much more accessible. Just a friendly owner(Alex) who’s happy to help. No attitude, no hard-sells, and seems to be extremely knowledgeable. I liked Cycle Plus, they’ve been nice enough when I’ve gone in, just seemed a little big and I had hard time finding help sometimes. And now there a little further away from where I live. CycleFast is closer to me and I bought my last bike there, but they never seemed eager to help on subsequent visits and seemed to be fairly curt when I had questions. I went in here looking for some possible upgrades for my current ride, as well as looking for some guidance on fit. Had one of my issues fixed right away and then he ordered me the other parts I needed. Overall, a great addition to Main Street. I wish them luck and will continue to go there(and recommend them) for any cycling needs.
