Applebee’s

I ordered the shrimp and steak with vegetables and mashed potatoes. The vegetables were rubbery and had so much water that it ran all over the plate. Everything else tasted good and was prepared well.

Hands down, the worst Applebee’s I’ve ever set foot in. We ordered two appetizers. One of them was just bad and part of the other appetizer wasn’t brought out and when we pointed it out to the waitress she responded with, «Oh, did you want that?»
*The menu said it was included with it, so yes, I would like some.*
Service was not good.
Restaurant wasn’t very clean.
Restrooms were awful.

I probably shouldn’t even review this place because I don’t have anything nice to say.
I don’t like Applebee’s anyways, and I regret having suggested it as my friend and I searched for an open place in town as we were road-​tripping across the country.
The place was super-​busy for a Friday night, and most every other place in town seemed to be closed.
The clientele was young — well, at least younger than me — so I figure this is a college student hangout.
But I can’t understand why.
Our food was terrible. Especially the spinach-​artichoke dip. It was disgusting. It definitely came from a can. It was greasy and soupy and I don’t even know how I ate any of it. Back when I was in college, we would go to Applebee’s every monday night for spinach artichoke dip and it was actually good. I don’t know what happened in 10 years time.
The menu said it came with salsa, BUT it didn’t come with it, and we needed to ask, to which the waitress replied, oh you wanted that? UMM… if the menu says it comes with it, then shouldn’t it come with it? And she seriously brought a drop of it — in one of those little containers for dressing on the side.
I ordered some kind of chicken taco thing — with an asian flare. But all it tasted like was BBQ sause with frozen chicken in a Chinese-​noodle-​style-​taco shell.
BLAH.
The place wasn’t clean, and I was ready to leave as soon as I arrived.
This is what desperation does to a person.
Sorry, Applebee’s you’ve gone downhill.
And this sealed the deal.
Never again.

My favorite place in downtown Huntington, the staff is awesome and the food is always great:) you need to check out the late happy hour:) with ½ price appetizers
