Never again. Shall I go there. Boneless spare ribs. And won ton soup. 10.00. Ribs were on top of cabbage making it look like you got some meat. They were pre-​cooked dry as hell. I would swear they were someone else’s order. As for the soup well I will not go there.
When I get back to town. I shall let them know what I really think. Do yourself a favor. Go across the street.
WHAT A DUMP. Trying to post this but they need a star rating. So I have to give 1 star. And not by choice.

What a waste of money. Absolutely horrible. I ordered a Philadelphia roll and a spicy tuna roll. Both tasted sour and smelled like ammonia and were gray in color. Had one piece of each and tossed the rest out. Really hope I don’t get food poisoning. Eat at your own risk! 0 stars.

My latest experience here is definitely my last. I made a to-​go order that I picked up.
While the staff is friendly enough, and the food itself is good, the prices are outrageous for the amount of food you get. A sushi appetizer for $ 8.50 came with five pieces. The beef teriyaki was mostly mushrooms.
The service is not particularly welcoming, either. They forgot to provide my side of white rice, so I called them. They asked when I would come back to get it, and I asked them to just deliver it, because I didn’t feel like driving back out to them and I wasn’t far. Forty minutes later, still no rice. They said they couldn’t make it to me and would get it to me next time.
There are too many other fast, cheap, Chinese/​Japanese places nearby to keep coming here.

I won’t be back. The guy gave me attitude on the phone when ordering. You don’t like your job? Then quit! That’s the least of my problems that night. Got home, opened the food. Started with the sushi. Ordered a Philadelphia roll. Well after two pieces I realized the cream cheese was sour, and the fish was not fresh. I spent all night in the bathroom after that. My family had other Chinese food (lo mein, beef etc.) Everything was horrible. Not fresh. It ruined my New Years Eve. Thanks Jani!

Always very rude when ordering over phone gave too many chances. The sushi is very average theres soo many better places ive had in past that i will be going back to

We go there for the lunch specials which are fairly priced. The place needs an overhaul and update. Food is adequate and on the expensive side for dinner and take out,

Came in on a whim to order take out for my family. .the customer service was polite. When i took my order home to enjoy with fam the chinese food was bland, egg rolls over oily, and the wonton cold and seemed old. HOWEVER the sushi was surprisingly delicious. If you order anything. order the rolls they are affordable and fresh.

I love the food here. And the service is good! The lunch specials are my favorite !! Such a good price for all the food you get. The only thing is the place is a little old. It smells a little old and the furniture and carpet are worn out. They should remodel!

Pass, do not subject yourself to this place. Not worth the trip. Food was not good. 3 errors in our order and the manager interrogated us. Needs a major makeover.

The best Asian Restaurant around. I traveled a lot to Huntington Station for business reason, so I go here regularly and most of the time, the hot & sour soup is best, the Empress Chicken is delicious and the teriyaki is great, too. Portions are generous, dumplings were also really good. The food is solid, serving both Chinese and Japanese specialties well, and consistent in their quality from week to week or year to year. never disappointed. How they do that? had delivery tonight from JANI. GREAT AGAIN…

Horrible take-​out experience from start to finish. The hostess was eating lunch and seemed annoyed that I entered hoping to place my order. After I payed for my order, the hostess notified me that there would be an extra charge. I, politely, questioned her and she said spicy mayo was not included. As I payed the additional fee, she spoke negatively about me (laughing) to a waiter nearby referencing the mayo. I ordered the sashimi lunch. The fish was NOT fresh, and the crab I asked to omit was not replaced by anything else. Miso was tasteless and the green salad (large iceberg chunk) had a horrible orangy tasting dressing. I was very disappointed and will never eat here again.

One trip to the bathroom uncovered Jani’s dirty secrets. Thick layers of grime and dust had accumulated on the walls and in the vents. The bathroom light fixture had a dozen dead bugs in it. I peeked in the kitchen window and things didn’t look much better. I felt obligated to report them to the Suffolk County Department of Health. Their response:
«On April 11, 2014 an unannounced inspection was conducted at Jani Restaurant, 350 Route 110, Huntington Station. Sanitary code violations were cited for accumulations of grime on floors and floor/​wall junctions, ceiling tiles in food storage rooms, shelving throughout the establishment and the fan blades in the walk-​in refrigerator. The patron bathroom exhaust fans also had accumulated dust and grime and the light shields/​light fixtures in the bathrooms contained dead insects. Food contact surfaces such as the can opener and the interior of the microwave oven were also noted to have accumulated grime and food debris, for which violations were cited. A reinspection is scheduled to be conducted on or after April 25, 2014.»
I received this email after the reinspection:
«Sanitary code violations were cited for numerous violations previously cited during the April 11, 2014 inspection. A preliminary hearing with the operator of this establishment is scheduled to be conducted on October 29, 2014. A compliance schedule will be established and future reinspection dates will be determined at this hearing. Continued non-​compliance will result in formal enforcement action.»
The owner (s) of this establishment make absolutely no effort to keep it clean and need to be reprimanded. I am not surprised to hear other Unilocalers have found roaches in and around their food. You’ve been warned.

First I agree – the restaurant could definately use a make over. And the bus boys are friendly but the waiters esp the old school older guys are definately not the friendliest. The food is not that authentic but it’s the best that we’ve found in the area – it was too cold and late to drive out to Stony Brook. The pu-​pu platter was fun! The food was decent, if not the most authentic Chinese.

If you would like an evening out with friends in a restaurant where you can actually hear each other talk this is the place. And the food is good to. I had shrimp egg foo young. And it was done to perfection. Plenty of shrimp and the patties were not greasy My wife had rainbow shrimp which she loved. Our friends had shrimp dishes which they enjoyed. My wanton egg drop soup was bland and my egg roll was nothing special. The main dishes are good and the appetizers are ok. If you want Chinese and good conversation where you can actually hear your dinner companions this is the place

Definitely a step up from the bevy of take-​out joints in the area. Food, service and ambiance are all well beyond what you’ll find at other local Chinese food restaurants.
That being said, it does have it’s flaws. For starters, it could use a nice deep carpet shampooing, some new tables and chairs, and perhaps a smile or two from servers. In the end though, it’s a decent spot for lunch, but may be in trouble now that PF Chang’s is in the neighborhood.

Unfortunately there’s nothing good to say about this restaurant it’s dirty and the wait staff just got off the boat they don’t understand English. The carpet is an eyesore when you walk into the place you’re in a time warp the environment is a very very disturbing. Food is horrific.

I ordered dinner to go last night and when I got home I was so disappointed. My white rice container that accompanied my dinner was HALF full. My shrimp with lobster sauce had no flavor and few shrimp and my egg roll was stale. It’s such a convienient location and yet I will never go back there.

I love this place. The food is always so good and fresh. I love the seseme chicken and that it’s white meat. When they deliver it’s always fast. The sushi is also really great. I could eat Jani once a week. Only issue is that it can get expensive, but other than that two thumbs up

Best Chinese restaurant for miles. Excellent presentation. Food taste great. Located in a shopping center next to bath and beyond. Elegant white table cloths food always good
Easy parking

Nice size portions evrything is shareable. Dragon and Phoenix had loads of lobster in it. Teriyaki also very good. Sushi was okay, nothing spectacular but I didn’t expect it to rival a dedicated sushi restaurant. Plate presentations were inviting with radishes, etc peeled to look like flowers. One note on the Hot and Sour soup: it is very spicy. I like it that way but if you are not a fan have them mix it with egg drop soup and that tones the heat down.
