Service was really great, they actually put another table outside for us since we had our dog with us. The food is just OK. Definitely not the 4 stars its been given. We had the Hawaiian French toast with a side of scrambled eggs and the eggs Florentine with cottage cheese and fruit. The coffee is very very watered down and I actually like lighter bodied coffee but this was ridiculous. The eggs Florentine was just swimming in the hollandaise sauce so the English muffin was soggy and the tomato was mushy. The French toast was good but nothing special. Price was not bad. Our check was $ 35 We will not be going back because there are just too many restaurants that truly serve 4 star food.

I looooooove Hawaiian food… Or at least the ambiance of a place near the beach. My boyfriend and I decided to drive down PCH on our way back to San Diego and we were starving! We stopped here, a little off the beach and dug in. I got«the junk» omelette and my dude got the«Ohara special». More that enough to fill our bellies but enough to take some on the road to go! The service was alright. There was one gentleman helping out, I think he was the manager or owner, but he was on point. Good place to go grab a bite!

In a word… disappointing. While I had high hopes for this café going in they were dashed almost immediately. Lets start with the coffee, something that in a diner should be bullet proof. Ohana’s was weak and barley hot, cooling even more with the addition of creamer. Now this in and of its self is not a death blow, but in this case it served as a grim omen of things to come. While my mother ordered the huevos rancheros I ordered the Ohana Special which is French toast made using Hawaiian sweet bread. I love the idea of using that form of bread in this preparation but here it was all flash, no sizzle. Our food arrived in a timely manner and looked great, a tempting treat for the eyes, but upon first bite we realized it was a mirage. Both mine and my mothers food was tepid, bordering on cold, my bacon limp and lifeless, the hash browns a pile of mashed potatoes masquerading under the guise of a crispy exterior. When it came to the huevos rancheros the tortillas were cold and had the distinct taste of having just come out of the bag, not likely to have been griddled or cooked in any fashion. For both of us our eggs over easy were cooked perfectly, but alas, they too were cold, that problem being compounded further for my mom by the addition of cold sour cream and avacado on top. Last we come to the Hawaiian French toast, and I must say this is where my disappointment reached its peak. From its overly sweet taste and lack of imagination to it being served below room temp it was a debacle of epic proportions. Good french toast should be sweet, but not overly so(thats what the powdered sugar and/or syrups for) and it should have subtle hints of cinnamon, vanilla, maybe even ginger or nutmeg… this had none of that. It was like being hit over the head with a club of sweetness, no subtlety or imagination. To add insult to injury it was so cold even the whipped, room temperature butter would not melt on top. Overall a massively underwhelming and disappointing experience food wise, saved from the shame of one star only by the attentive service of our waitress.

This is a family owned and run restaurant good for breakfast or brunch. The service is always great and the place is usually packed. If you’re looking for a boozy brunch this is the wrong place for you, as there isn’t any alcohol served here. However, if you’re looking for Hawaiian, Hawaiian fusion food, come on down. Breakfast/Brunch: I usually get the Ohana Special or the Loco Moco. So yum and for the Ohana Special you can substitute the sides for whatever other sides you’d prefer. Try the Maui coffee for a sweet take on your coffee. Service: Fast and friendly and my coffee was always promptly filled. Ambience: Super chill casual environment, good for by yourself, with your friends or family. If it’s a sunny day, ask to sit in their outside patio if you can. Parking: Ample parking space since its in the same lot as a Fitness 19. TL;DR Hawaiian/Hawaiian fusion style food with great service, a casual environment, and easy parking. Try the Ohana Special with a Maui Coffee – yum!

The«Bread Crumb» Ohana Café, or just Ohana for short, is a Hawaiian-American restaurant located in the Beach /Garfield«Chase» plaza of Huntington Beach. Primarily known as a breakfast spot, Ohana will fill up your belly with Hawaiian inspired dishes such as their Hawaiian french toast or pancakes. I highly recommend the huge french toast, if you think 2 pieces won’t fill you up think again. Personally I got the«Mainlander» which is the same type of french toast with LOTS of powdered sugar, plus 2 eggs and bacon or sausage. You can add fruit toppings for $ 1.50 or side of peanut butter spread for 75c. YUM! They also have Loco Moco, yummy burgers and other grub for lunch &(early) dinner. I recommend the breakfast platters, but if it’s later in the day or you’re just not craving morning grubs, then pick one of these and they are sure to fill your appetite. The only thing I didn’t like about my visit to here is I got coffee which is a normal coffee shop sized cup(6 – 8 oz), and they never came back to refill it or check on it once. It was also hard to get water, they won’t bring it to you unless you bug them. And personally one of my picky friends won’t go here because they don’t serve pineapple juice. Oh wells there are a billion juice places in the area so I didn’t really lose my mind. I’ve been to the islands plenty of times and didn’t notice that it wasn’t authentic enough. I actually liked it better than some places I’ve been over there. And the wait can be really long if you go on weekends. However it’s a good size place and they keep things moving, so if you plan ahead it’s not too bad. Most tables seat 2 – 4 people so go in appropriate sized groups if you’re there during peak hours! Don’t know if they can easily accommodate larger parties. Prices are moderate, but since 2015 they take CC in addition to cash, so no stress bruddah. I’ll be back next time I’m in the north HB!

Came here twice in 2 weeks(in part because I didn’t know any better breakfast places in the area) but it satisfied my toast, egg/bacon cravings. I had the complete Hawaiian toast meal deal with fruit, eggs over medium and sausage/bacon. It was a lot to eat but I scarfed it down and it was delicious. Service seemed ok although the owner was nice as he came by to check on us. I like the Hawaiian breakfast selections as well as the lunch options. I would recommend this place but watch for long lines in the late mornings especially on weekends!

What a great find! I met my rep here for a breakfast meeting when working in the area and what a nice surprise to see the Aloha Spirit in Huntington Beach! Our waitress mentioned the owner is from Hawaii so the menu was filled with Hawaiian specialties. My order, 2 eggs over easy, corned beef hash on white rice. Woo-Hoo! It took me back to my Hawaii days that I really miss. It was also a joy to see Hawaiian sweet bread and Portuguese sausage on the breakfast menu. So ono! Lunch and dinner offerings look a little more like California casual cuisine but creatively named with an island flare which is great. But I really enjoyed the casual low key coffee shop like atmosphere loaded with Hawaiian décor that made me feel like I was back in the islands. Mahalo Bread Crumb Ohana Café!
