Refreshing roll is the best roll ever! That’s all I go here for. Place can get too packed, but sometimes its worth the wait when I crave for that roll.

The food here is AMAZEballs! I haven’t had sushi, ceviche, salad, or sake anywhere this good in a long long time. I’ve had sushi all over the world and both coasts in the US. So happy to find this place, and it’s close to home. SUSHIONFIRE!

Not impressed. Such a great location too and I was so excited to try this place. Sushi on Fire was highly recommended by my boyfriend’s coworkers so we decided to try it. We ordered the spicy edamame, 911 roll, a spicy tuna roll, and the Refreshing Roll. The edamame looks pretty good in all the pictures I’ve seen… Worst edamame ever. The flavor was so bad. Not garlicky, not spicy, not tasty at all. Had a very strange burnt wood kind of flavor. Should have ordered just plain edamame. Maybe I’m more critical than others because after all it’s just edamame. But Orange Roll Sushi in Anaheim has the absolute best spicy garlic edamame EVER. We usually order 2 orders whenever we go, and that’s just for 2 of us! It’s THAT good. Back to this place. Ugh just that edamame was so gross. We didn’t finish it. Our rolls came out quickly(hey they earned a star). Poor presentation. The spicy tuna roll looked like it was falling apart. The 911 roll has spicy tuna and cucumber on the inside and avocado and spices on the outside. Such a measly portion of avocado. Refer to my picture. It was paper thin! It was funny actually. A thinner piece of avocado than my chopstick. The spices/chili on the outside, no joke, had a bizarre flavor like coffee. It was so gross! My boyfriend claims to have liked his refreshing roll but I had a piece. Wayyyyyyy too lemony. Couldn’t taste anything really besides the lemon and the jalapeño. The other star goes to the women’s bathroom. It was pretty clean actually. But according the boyfriend, the men’s restroom was nasty. Won’t be going back. Just moved to HB from GG and we were looking for our new sushi place. This is not it. I miss Orange Roll in Anaheim!!!

We sat at the sushi bar. Prompt service. Very attentive. Gorgeously prepared and super fresh fish. Very well priced for the quality. They don’t skimp on the portion size.

Came on a busy Saturday night. The lady up front, I’m assuming the owner, saw we had toddlers and got us sat within 2 minutes because she knew the kids would get antsy. I eat lost of sushi… And I am BLOWN Away with the quality of food here! To top off the AMAZING food, the service was on point even though they were packed. Brought us wontons and sake on the house shortly after being sat. I was very impressed with this place! this place tops all sushi restaurants including the high end, over priced sushi joints in Las Vegas owned by famous chefs that we go to. Can’t wait to visit hunnington again soon, this will be my first stop when I’m back in town :)

I came as a party of 2 on a Wed evening around 6:30PM and it was a little bit busy, but we didn’t have to wait and got seated at the bar. We had been walking and first encountered the Sushi on Fire that is combined with Shabu on Fire so we ended up having dinner there. We didn’t realize that 2 doors down was the actual Sushi on Fire restaurant. If you want a table, go to the actual Sushi on Fire restaurant. If you want a quick meal or are just a party of 1 or 2, get a seat at the bar inside Shabu on Fire. Service was fast and efficient, although a little bit hectic with staff serving both the sushi bar and shabu bar. We ordered a bunch of things; our eyes were bigger than our stomachs. We got salmon sashimi(7pc), chirashi bowl, sushi on fire roll, baked salmon with spicy tuna roll, hello kitty hand roll, crispy rice with spicy tuna, and the Jacob special. We really enjoyed the Jacob special, which was served on crispy wonton chips. That plate was bigger than I expected; I thought there would be 4 pieces, but it was double that. We also really enjoyed the crispy rice with spicy tuna(4pc); the rice had just the right amount of crisp, but still soft enough to bite and the tuna was abundant and very spicy! The sushi on fire roll has a bit of everything; I highly recommend it! The salmon sashimi was fresh and nicely cut & displayed. These are what I would skip next time: the chirashi bowl had fresh fish, but the rest of the bowl was bland. I enjoy eating rice with the fish, but the rice from this chirashi bowl was not enjoyable. The baked salmon with spicy tuna roll had a lemon-y taste, along with spice from the sauce. It was good, but nothing special. The hello kitty hand roll had a good combination, but also nothing special. We ended up taking a lot of it to-go since we couldn’t finish it, but it was still good the next day. The highlights of our meal were the crispy rice with spicy tuna & the Jacob special. A roll I definitely recommend is the sushi on fire roll. Can’t go here and not order the name-of-the-place roll!

Very good american sushis(you know, rolls, spicy tuna, sweet topping, crispy things…) The fish is fresh and everything tastes great.

Came to celebrate with the fam who are not sushi lovers… but it was my time to shine. They have a great variety of plates for non sushi eaters… filet mignon, shrimp fried rice, gyoza, and shrimp tempura. I Highly recommend the yellowtail jalapeño and Jacobs special its the perfect blend of crunchy and not soggy considering the fixings. Sashimi was good as well but i didnt have the room to eat more since we had so much goodies. The fam was ravin about coming back. Place gets pretty loud so turn off the hearing aids and enjoy the crowds

Think the place gets a lot of reviews because it’s there’s not that many restaurant round here. The sushi is decent and very tasty, but the price is pretty over priced. The restaurant is not too big, so it gets quite busy. The service here is average, someone of the waiters are rude, but there is one with the dyed blonde hair he’s really nice! I’d recommend the sushi on fire roll! My least favorite is the Galaxy roll, the texture is too soft. The fried noodle is average not very good(ordered it for a toddler). The black dragon is just a basic eel roll. My favorite is the magic mountain it has fried popcorn shrimp with mushroom and onions!

Great food, this place is packed! The owner is very funny and friendly. She was super nice to my kids and sent small free items/treats to the table. She is always making sure her staff is on top of it. Large verity of sushi and Japanese food. Including, Raman, Udon, Fried Rice and more! Plenty to choose from. Highly recommend.

I have sushi in every city I visit and this is one of my top choices. Sushi on fire roll was the best. Tuna tataki and spicy edemame both were great. Make sure to ask for fresh wasabi too! A little dab will do ya. Free sake and miso soup, nice! Fetty wop bumping in the bathroom made me smile. Service was good and fast. They are all about the food and keeping things moving here. Don’t expect overly friendly waiters but expect to get solid service. Placed was packed and we still got our food within 10 minutes. Had a reservation and were seated right away. Overall top notch place for sushi.

This place always exudes my expectations. Very fresh, quantity is not too little not too much, just the right amount. Friendly service and unbelievably very kid friendly… Which is a must for me. My kids’ appetite is that of an adult… And by that I don’t mean as in quantity… I mean in choice and quality. With that being said it has become my kids’ favorite sashimi spot.

Sushi like I have never seen. You go and put your name on the list and wait an hour! But it was worth it. Free sake with a beer purchase. We had 2 appetizers and 3 rolls of sushi + drinks and sake for $ 50! Can’t beat that almost anywhere! Good stuff

This place rocks!!! The 911 roll and the refreshing rolls were a delightful spicy combo that I cannot recommend enough! The chicken fried rice entrée was amazing especially with that yummy spicy cilantro sauce! It was like a party in my mouth! Prices are great for what you get. They also gave us free miso soups and the owner brought some grilled chicken and a bowl of water with ice for my dog. Love this place and will continue to go back!

The bad: the seaweed was a little chewy and tough during lunch but another time I ate there for dinner it wasn’t as bad. Also I sat at the bar and it was a little confusing on how to order. The cook behind the bar ask me what I wanted but at the same time away tour would occasionally come by and ask if I needed anything. For lunch I had a waiter and for dinner a combination of waiter but mostly guy behind the bar. Nowhere on their menu do they distinguish between cooked and uncooked ingredients. I wish they did because it would make ordering much easier. That being said they were nice enough to identify some roles that contained only cooked fish. The good: the day I went in there for dinner it was awesome. Miso soup automatically came with my dinner and it, along with my salad, were great. As for the environment I would say that it was nice but again not too formal. They did have TVs on the wall at the bar which made eating alone nicer. As for dress, I would say it was not too casual but not formal either. I will definitely go there again.

Odds are, if you visit me I will take you on a bike ride(I love my beach cruiser!) and we will end up here. Just because. Is it the greatest sushi ever? No. This isn’t where you come for omakase. Do I appreciate the location, friendly service and ‘on the house’ hot sake? Oh yes! The menu is enormous, with plenty of pictures, and more rolls and variations of rolls than I care to count. There are the typical ‘Californa Roll Topped with Whatever and Lots of Sauce’ rolls, but there are also quite a few really creative ones that are fun to try. This place gets packed at dinner, and the seating list is maintained by a no-nonsense woman who somehow maintains order amidst the chaos. I prefer weekend afternoons — no waiting for a spot and plenty of time to relax on the beach(read: take a nap) afterward. Kampai!
