Rip Curl Surf Center

Every time we visit Huntington this is our go to place to swap out the cold weather Chicago stuff we had to fly in wearing (we usually visit in winter, because duh) for something beachier.
We’ve probably been here 5 – 6 times and every time it’s easy to find something nice to wear — and most of their clothes (and eyewear) are great quality and last. It’s located *in* the same building as the ShoreBreak hotel which is one of my all time favorite places to stay. Anywhere in the world.
Anyway, last time I bought a Rip Curl t-​shirt here with a picture of the Huntington Beach Pier and loved it. As will be the case with favorite t-​shirts, I wore it out and because I’m a guy and don’t really need change unless it’s exciting decided to replace it. I tried the whole Google thing but apparently my shirt does not exist on the internets, not on the Rip Curl website, image search, the store’s page
nowhere.
So I called them and explained I’d like to order one, and even though they don’t take phone orders, the nice dude who answered walked over, found two of them for me, and super professionally walked me through purchasing them and mailed them the same evening. Nice gear, nice attitudes, nice prices, nice people, in one of the nicest places there is.
Recipe for whatever ails you: book flight to LAX, drive down to HB, stay at the SB, go to this store and buy shorts, flip flops, and a shirt, go to CVS one block north, buy firewood and really good wine, pour wine into a drinking bottle, walk four blocks south, make fire on beach (in an approved receptacle), drink said wine, listen to waves, chill the hell out. Cured!
Until the giant loudspeaker and searchlights come on at like 10 PM to kick all the teenagers off the beach. But then there are dive bars that you can go to. Cause you’re not a teenager.

I would like to start off saying that the young girl that helped me was very kind and helpful. she didn’t mention though that the top I bought was final sale. I purchased a bathing suit top and a dress. My total was not cheap at all. I did not have time to try on the bathing suit top so I chanced it and waited to go home and try it on. bad idea. I went home and didn’t like it, the next day I called to confirm I could exchange the item. the young man on the phone told me they do not make returns or exchanges for bathing suits because they’re personal items? underwear I understand, but a bathing suit I bought a day ago? it’s a top!!! after talking to this young man for several minutes he says it’s very small but it’s on the receipt! ridiculous. this place is over priced and with a bad exchange policy. oh wait they don’t have one! better off somewhere else!

The employees were very helpful & found exactly what I was looking for! Miguel, I believe that’s what his name was, had the most amazing customer service. They had a good variety of swimsuits & surfboards; I was definitely in heaven! Overall great experience

The staff are friendly, knowledgeable, & they won’t sell you something you don’t need. They maintain a true surf shop atmosphere even though the brand had grown world wide. Whether you have a question about a surfboard or wetsuit, or if you need a new backpack or shirt: you can’t go wrong here.

They rent surfboards and boogie boards!!! I’m not subject to the rude people at jacks or zacks!!!

Recently purchased some «stretchy» Bermuda style shorts at this location. The stitching had come loose on both of the pairs I’d purchased so I went in this morning to return. They were super helpful and let me return for credit without receipt. Rip curl makes quality products and has service to match!

These guys have great service — excellent wetsuit selection — knowledgable staff without the attitude. Good boards as well.
