Peter recently installed a flagstone walkway, flowerbeds, irrigation, lighting, drainage features, decorative wall and matching driveway. He is extremely knowledgeable and talented. I provided an overview of my interest and making some modifications to my home and with that information he created an amazing result. I cannot express how much I appreciate his workmanship, honesty and integrity.

Peter Hamill is very knowledgeable about taking care of plants and trees. I recently moved to Long Beach to a home with citrus and palm trees. He helped me understand what needs to be done to keep my backyard beautiful! Thank you Peter! You are amazing!

Peter is very professional and does great work. My project was through Armstrong Nursery (whom I don’t recommend) but contracted Peter to do the project. I was stressed because part of the work needed to be done quickly. Peter understood my needs and had that part done very quickly. Actually it was completed when I got home that evening! Highly recommend.

Peter Hamill and his crew were a delight and a relief to work with. I had been warned how difficult it is to find an honest and competent contractor considering the negative environment we are surrounded in today, so did a little research and got some recommendations before making a final choice.
I am happy to say, I definitely chose the right guy. Peter and his team worked harmoniously together, and were totally in tune with my needs and concerns. They are respectful to the client and each other at all times.
My home is old and my yard had basically not been touched in about 40 years. He started a job with many challenges and met them all.
To name just a few, Peter is a «hands on» guy, and was physically on the job for the entire time his crew was working at my home. Peter is honest, professional, knowledgeable and was always compassionate to my situation. He is a man who listens to your concerns, makes suggestions, follows through with them, goes the extra mile, and is always on time. When you call him, he returns your call in a timely manner.
Peter is also flexible to changes. He did some additional things such as repairing some badly damaged cement areas, carted away a lot of junk that had been lying around, exacerbating the disheveled look of the yard, and added a few unexpected extras to make caring and maintaining the yard a lot easier for me. As the job developed, things came up that I wanted to add or change, and he was always amenable to addressing unexpected situations.
Last, but definitely not least, his price was extremely reasonable, based upon the excellent quality of work and service he provided me.
I am totally satisfied with my new yard, and I highly recommend Peter Hamill Landscape and Design. You will not be disappointed.

A treasure for us OC folks wanting custom landscaping, extremely high quality work, great attention to detail, Peter is a very hands-​on guy and closely watches the quality and workmanship of his team every step of the way. I found him very creative and easy to work with. When an issue came up (as it always does) and we appeared to have a misunderstanding of the scope of work, he listened to my side and was willing to work with me. Finding a contractor who does what they say they will do is not always easy, but Peter did not increase costs and he was very flexible as my ideas changed a bit here and there. He was fairly priced, not the cheapest but not the most expensive by a long shot. He is really top notch and very creative but practical as well. I will definitely be using him again.

Peter was pleasant and prompt. And his crew worked hard preparing the soil well in both the front yard and back yards, and they cleaned up everything well.
However, Peter did not really seem to listen to our request for native-​area, slow-​growing, easy-​care plants. I showed him pictures of plants that I liked from a book, and I felt that he did not seem to know whether or not they were appropriate choices for our landscape space. When we went to the nursery with him, he did not make very many suggestions, rather he just let us pick out what we thought we liked.
I called him a month after the plants were in to check on several that did not seem to be doing very well. He said he would replace some of them, but never did. And now less than one year later, many others are growing too rapidly and need frequent pruning, which is what I was trying to avoid.
Considering the amount I spent on this landscaping, I am disappointed with the outcome, and I would not recommend him.

Peter did excellent work. I wanted a landscaping renovation which required creative work as well as do-​per-​instruction. He cleaned up areas that had hopelessly over grown. He suggested locations and moved some plants to better locations. He installed cement mow strips. His price was right. He was gracious and responsive to change requests from my wife. Great clean-​up, finished when he said he would be done. I am completely satisfied.
