Saw the other reviews on Unilocal and gave this place a try. What a find! The owner was so friendly and proud of his food. Tried the eggplant parm sandwich and the Italian stallion. Both were excellent. If you’re looking for fresh, homemade food, this is the place!

Great sandwiches. …friendly new owners from Italy! Dont pass this place up. Eggplant is the best I have had. Try their home made pesto… on anything! I only wish I lived closer. Pizza ovens will be arriving soon and I’m sure like everything else will be exemplary. The new owners are very passionate and dedicated to their craft.

Stopped in for the first time, the Italian owner guy was very nice and passionate talking about his food, said he made his pasta sauces fresh everyday. I tried his pesto pasta and it was delicious and got some a Tiramisu Togo(can’t wait to try it later). Simple but yummy place to stop in for some good food.

Pros: Food — I recommend the salmon croissant sandwich w/capers Hours & location — Just off Main Street and open late, so you can grab food before or after bar hopping or a day at the beach. Customer service — The staff were very helpful by making recommendation as it was my first time at Coach’s Deli and went out of their way after to see if I liked the salmon sandwich. Cons: None yet

I wanted a quick bite to eat as I was walking back from the beach and stumbled along this deli. As I walked in, the owner was immediately welcoming. He told me what he recommended and gave me samples of the different meats he had. I settled with the Italian stallion. By far the BEST sandwich spot. It is definitely an authentic Italian deli where the owner takes pride in his ingredients. I can’t wait to be back and try something different.

Nice, helpful staff. Food is better than subway, the sandwiches are on fresh bread. Quick.

Wow!!! The best sandwich ever tested in Huntington Beach!!! Super huge, super fresh, super tasty!!! The Brooklyn Boomber is fantastic! My friend had a salad just made with so good Italian Prosciutto on top and real italian dressing! Very good! The new owner is italian, from Rome, was very nice and gently… .and very cute too!!!

This is by far the best sandwich in California. A must anytime your in Huntington Beach. I been coming here for years now and it never gets old. The Brooklyn bomber is a national treasure and the lox with salmon and cream cheese is so good, it’ll make you slap your momma for feeding you mediocre sandwiches growing up… Seriously… Come eat here.

We stumbled upon this place after everything else on Main Street seemed to close at midnight… So glad we did! Most people in our group ordered the Italian Stallion and I ordered the Turkey. Meat, cheese, sauces were all great and the bread was amazing! Even my leftover the next day were still delicious! Will definitely make a trip back to HB for a yummy sandwich in the future. And the man that helped us was a delight! I think he enjoyed see people out that were actually in their 30s/40s rather than the young, typical HBer :)

Update: The side is included with the sandwich again! This is my top spot for a quick sandwich on Main St.

Gourmet??? Um no. Perhaps the ‘b team’ was working this day. Two sandwiches and a side of tabouli for $ 25.00 We think this place is overpriced and will NEVER go back for the following reasons: Paid $ 1.00 extra for ‘avocado’ which was actually smashed avocado smeared onto the bread… maybe a half teaspoon, maybe. Gourmet? Um no. Gourmet would be a few nice slices of ripe luscious avocado. Two extremely thin child size pieces of tomato per sandwich. Um no. Gourmet would be a healthy slice of a ripe heirloom or speciality tomato. One tissue paper thin piece of cheese. Um no. Gourmet cheese should be sliced thick enough to taste and probably be from a local dairy or something. Nominal amount of mayo and mustard smeared into the bread, not on, into so you can’t put the sandwich in your cooler for later, gotta eat it now. Um no. Gourmet condiments should be added to a sandwich to enhance it, not saturate the bread Tabouli was lackluster. Pretty sure there was no lemon juice or garlic. Also they used the flat Italian parsley. If you like tabouli, do NOT order it here! Um no. So here’s the worst part, as the nice boy rang me up I mentioned the cost and his coworker gives me a menu and says I can, «check the prices, we added it right». Clearly there is no customer service here or real knowledge of how to use ingredients to make a sandwich and certainly not a gourmet sandwich. If you like over priced food, waiting for an excessively long time and like mediocre sandwiches made by incompetent people, then go here.

Very disappointed. Each time I go it it worse. I ordered a wrap and it had 1 slice of meat and 1 slice of cheese. What a rip off. Never going there again. Nothing compares to a real NY deli.

It’s hard to find a good deli because honestly, it’s hard to make a good sandwich. Everything has to come together nicely and in perfect ratio. I loved that they use boar head’s deli meat here. It makes a big difference when an establishment uses better ingredients and customers really do appreciate it. I got the Italian Stallion but it was just all right. They gave plenty of deli meat here which I liked. But the bread was whatever and the sandwich was dry.

I serioulsy love Coach’s…as soon as they get gluten-free bread, I’ll be back here in a minute. We used to come here late night after drinking on main st all day and into the evening and this always hit the spot. The owner and staff are all SO friendly… they fuck with you, but they are friendly and make the best sandwich in town. All the sides are delicious, the bread is delicious and the selection of meats/cheeses/toppings is excellent and everything is always fresh. Portions are huge for the price and I have never felt ripped off. I’m seeing other reviews saying that things have changed since they closed and re-opened earlier this summer… and I haven’t been since earlier in the year, so I can’t attest… but what a bummer if that’s true.

I work in HB and eat here with my coworkers atleast once a week! Coach’s has great quality sandwiches using the best ingredients! Good choices of sides too and a variety of chips to choose from. If it’s not on the menu, they’ll gladly customize a sandwich to your liking. They even have a hot press to toast in all that yumminess!

Hot Dog! The sandwiches are ok, but they run about 8 bucks. They also sell a few meats and cheeses by the pound. The star of this place, in my opinion, is the Beef Knockwurst Hot Dog. It runs about 5 bucks. I would rather get this instead of a sandwich. Parking sucks. Meters. Good luck finding one at night.
