Came here tonight on my last night in So Cal. and this place totally blew my mind. First I have to say the staff was incredibly friendly, from the door man to security that was getting ready to work the door for the nights events, to the hostess and our server; everyone had a huge smile on their face. Once we were seated, we were greated immediately by our server Alaina who had the biggest smile. I asked Alaina what her favorites were and what other suggestions she had. Without hesitation she listed her favorites 1.2.3. I ended up going with the Meatloaf. EVERYTHINGISBETTERWITHBACON!!! And this meatloaf was no exception. The meatloaf was soft and moist, and the bacon wrapped around it offered it just the perfect… I don’t want to say crunch because the bacon didn’t crunch, but the perfect texture to counter the softness of the meatloaf. The meatloaf was also served with a side of mashed potatoes. I don’t remember the name of the gravy that it came with but I had to ask for extra because it was so delicious. What helped top off my meal was the great deal on beer they had. $ 3 for PBR. I LOVE sh! tty beer and PBR is my favorite. For dessert we decided to eat the cookie. This thing was fresh, hot and AMAZING! With the scoop of ice cream on top of it, it was the perfect combination of hot and cold mixed together. On top of great food and service, this place also doubles as an art gallery with art for sale on its walls. There were some highly talented artists that had their work on display there. Mix all of this with good music and atmosphere a d you have a recipe for a great experience. I will definitely return here on my next trip to So Cal in a few months.

Waked in right off the street from tandem biking. We were exhausted and starving, this really cute girl with red hair and tattoos was sitting out front, right behind her we saw a painted stair case and what looked like an art gallery. We walked up the stairs and found an awesome restaurant and art gallery. Girls were pretty and tattooed, one told us to sit wherever we want. We chose a booth in the back, right above us I found a painting that I ended up purchasing. I ordered chili cheese fries and a caprese salad, both were to die for. Nachos are huge, and tasty, the vegi stack was yummy as well! We really enjoyed this place!

I took my father here for Father’s Day. After about a 20 minute wait to be seated, we waited an additional 20 minutes without a server even addressing us, even though the server for that section walked by several times. After seeing the aforementioned server help a table that was clearly seated long after us, we decided to leave. If that wasn’t bad enough, there was no one around to address the issue. Since we had no intention of being ignored for even longer, we just left. My experience: I paid $ 3 for a cup of coffee at the bar that they never bothered to refill, we both left hungry, and my father’s Father’s Day lunch was a bust. Thanks guys.

We are downtown for the Chili At the Beach event and wanted to take a break from the outside and grab a beer so we went to the 2nd floor. My fiancé went to the bar to order a beer and tried to order a Pacifico from the female bartender. He asked her twice and on his 2nd request she said«Yeah but you need to be on the other side of that F-ing pole.» He was standing on the other side of it bc there was a kid standing right there at the bar and so he went to the other side. That was uncalled for and rude and she didn’t even get his beer. So we left and probably won’t go back there anytime soon. Poor service. I’d give a zero but it won’t let me.

Amazing chef(Gabby Huerta) that keeps the menu exciting to want to come back over and over! Art work on the walls, music, an awesome view of Main Street! Winner winner!

The tacos were a soggy pile of cold, crappy ingredients. Margaritas were absolutely disgusting, bath water that contained an accidental splash of unidentifiable alcohol. Waiter didn’t bring plates or napkins EVER, no service whatsoever. I had to leave my seat and find the waiter to tell her I needed to pay and leave, it took her a good 10 minutes for her to come back with my card. I will never recommend and won’t be returning!

0STARS! RANT: Today was the first time I’ve ever walked out of a restaurant leaving absolutely NOTIP. Now although the restaurant(The 2nd Floor, Huntington Beach, CA) was very cool, a art gallery and restaurant in one. Totally punk rock, everyone was covered in tattoos and they had amazing artwork covering ever inch of the walls. Literally the worst service I’ve ever had in my life . 1. We have 3 different girls taking care of us so I had no idea who our real server was. 2. Once our food dropped and we took our first bit, no one ever came to see how we were doing. Though servers were walking past us over and over. 3. After us finishing our very disappointing $ 12 burgers. & different girl,(who I think was the host because she sat us originally, who knows) finally asked if we were okay because I was looking around for our server. I had to tell her two refills and the bill. Empty drink glasses, no pre sets on the tables, had to ask for sugar for tea, ketchup etc… & the server didn’t even say thank you have a nice day, did we want desert tonight?, anymore beers or drinks? NOTHING. So so so disappointing especially because we were overlooking Huntington Beach… won’t ever go back. & to the girl(s) that was our server(s) I don’t mean to offend or upset. But I’m a server too at a BJ’s and I know of the guest always being my number 1 priority all the time & sadly we weren’t your priority… I know 1. Girl was short, dark hair has a skull bandana in her hair. Sat us down took our drink order and then someone else took care of us, this was also the girl that finally checked on us after us finishing our food. Girl #2 was in a white crop top, tall. Dark hair as well. Took our food order, brought me my beer & never saw her after. Girl #3 was I think just a food runner because I didn’t see her on the floor, only running food. Blonde girl, Really nice got us our ranch & ketchup(should’ve been on the table) . Just overall disappointed, my boyfriend sat for over 10 minutes with no drink while eating… Cmon girls!!! We all know it’s not that hard to serve a table. Sadly if we would have gotten good service I would have tipped like $ 20 because I really enjoyed the atmosphere… $ 38 for crappy burgers, empty drinks and poor service…

First off, we were starving and needed to feed our kids ASAP. The staff was super friendly. The kids meals were great. The nacho appetizer we got was huuuuge. It fed 4 of us easily and there was plenty left. This is a 3 star place in regards to atmosphere. Food and service was 4 stars.

My first time here and I really enjoyed it, we arrived early before the night life started so it was quieted and nice to Conversate over drinks the service was very fast and the waitress was excellent. As it got later in the night the lights went down the music came on and the crow came in, people dance and enjoyed the bar, I would say this is a great place to get a drink and listen to music and dance a little, the art work inside was very awesome as well. Definitely want to go back

Since we started coming here the service has gone down hill. The last time we went will be the last time we will ever go. We walk in and the place is not that busy, only a couple tables sat besides a few people at the bar. We get told by the hostess that there is only one server on and she will be with us as soon as possible. While waiting 20 minutes before our server gets to the table, the bartender made no attempt to help as he was too busy being drunk himself and throwing cocktail napkins anytime someone walked in and the hostess just hung out smoking rather than taking our drink order. After our server greeted us, we order our drinks which took a couple minutes. We finally receive our drinks and she takes our food order. Not more than 10 minutes after ordering we are brought the check and told that if we want any other drinks we would have to go to the bar to get them and our food would be up shortly but she was cut and we needed to pay her so she can go home. Never once did she even look to realize that one of the 4 of us had an empty drink and never asked to refill. We immediately told her to cancel our food order and we would be going elsewhere to eat and just wanted a check for the drinks. We were met by confusion of our frustration and then told she would still be there for another 45 minutes doing sidework and our food was sitting in the window. Ultimately the manager came out to help the situation by giving us her apologies and a giftcard for future use but we still left. My question is if you are a manager on duty why are you allowing your staff to struggle so much. Isn’t your job to lead your team to success not allow them to fail on their own. I understand that we are only 4 people that may not be that important to you but we should have been treated as though we mattered. This is what customer service is about.

Bring back the old cook AND the old menu!!! Ordered nachos 2 weeks ago and they came out in a huge stack and covered from head to toe in toppings. Ordered the same nachos yesterday and they came out soggy and was left with only chips after a couple of bits. Customer service from our server was horrible. Tip took a hit for that. Lousy experience all together.

We stopped by recently on a Saturday afternoon while taking a stroll of the pier. 2nd Floor caught our eye because of the patio and all day drink specials. Although the patio was full we grabbed a seat near the bar and knocked back a few. Service was decent. Didn’t try the food. The best thing about the place is the cool wall art for sale. There’s a lot of Gothic, Day of the Dead type art that was pretty cool that made me stop and look at the artists on display.

Yesterday was our second trip to 2nd Floor. Best time ever. Sunday breakfast was on the mark, steak and eggs were good and reasonably priced, homemade potatoes were tasty and well seasoned. The never ending mimosas, and the bloody mary fixin’s table were a great addition. Bravo. Love the décor, ambiance, and staff. Will be back again and again!

We were there before happy hour(3 – 7) but PBRs and Rolling rock were still only $ 3. Whiskey drinks $ 5. These were the Sunday deals. Mac and Cheese– decently creamy. Strong Gouda flavor. Minimal bacon flavor. Good cheesy crunchy crust on top. 5 4.5÷5 Vegetarian Nachos– the guacamole was ok but the veggie chili was quite bland. We doused it with Diablo sauce to the point where it was almost inedible it was so spicy… Yet still seemed bland! The cheese was good(if cheap tasting– but that’s how it was supposed to be). Chips were normal chips. Good portion but just meh. 3⁄5. Grilled chicken sandwich– also kind of meh. Grilled chicken is often dry and this is no exception. The jalapeño bun, although soft, added no flavor and the pickle, tomato and lettuce were poor quality indeed. 3⁄5 Stuffed burger– my dad got this and said it was good. You can only order it medium or more because otherwise the cheese inside won’t melt. Waitstaff are super friendly. 5⁄5. Lots of tvs available for sports and dogs are allowed out on the patio. The elevator is the dog friendly entrance :). Wish the food had been better– that’s what I’m rating with this review. I bet it’s a fun bar to drink at but I was just having lunch with my parents on a Sunday so for that it was a 3⁄5 star restaurant.

We stopped by the day after Xmas for some lunch(1−2pm). The only reason we decided to give this place a chance was because they allow dogs in their patio, they’re the only ones that do. That’s a BIG plus for us. The kid menus were $ 5.00. We had the wings & the jalapeño burger — they were all delicious. The food was great. The service was great. We’ll definitely stop by again. Luckily it was the day after Xmas so it wasn’t peek drinking time in HB. My kids really loved it. Thank you for having us.

I really enjoy myself each time I am at 2nd Floor. They always have fun music playing and the bartenders really get interactive with the music and it just puts out a fun vibe across the bar. It sometimes takes a while to get a bartenders attention but once you have it, they are really friendly and have made some awesome suggestions on drinks you haven’t tried. They also have a full kitchen with really delicious food. The location is right off Main St, in the center of all the action. Parking can be tricky but there is a underground parking garage that was super inexpensive and right in the center of all the bars and restaurants. I love the area and will most defiantly be back to 2nd Floor.

Typically my experience here is always really great. I never have a complaint. However this last time sucked pretty bad. They have a dog friendly patio, we took advantage of that. We went up the elevator(dogs can’t go inside and upstairs) and couldn’t find a table that was open, so we were waiting until one opened up. I’m guessing you seat yourself because there wasn’t one person who was working that came to help or even greet us. We just stood and had a beer while we waited. Once a table opened up, we went to sit down, and absolutely no one came over to help us. We tried waving down a few waitresses but after a few failed attempts, we said screw it and went somewhere else. Never had this happen to me in the past. Hoping it’s better next time.

My Uncle recommended this place to me when I told him I was in town. He is quite an authority when it comes to good food, more so than I. We didn’t give it a second though as we approached Main St., rolled into a parking structure,(reasonably priced) there. Passed the Cantinas and tempting aromas wafting through the street, as we made a beeline for this place. As we approached, we see a semi-burly mustached Dude wearing black gloves on a hot day at the door. We prepared ourselves for some form of douchebaggery, but were pleasantly greeted in the most down-to-earth way. A true Gentleman. Welcomed and invited in. We swallowed our guilt from being wrong in our prejudice, and ascended the stairs, admiring some of the paintings on our way up. We were once again greeted with a smile and seated immediately by a Hostess. It took about five-minutes for our waitress to get to us at all. At least we passed that time looking at art, and watching baseball. She came eventually and took our order. She asked if we wanted our appetizers before our entrees, to which we emphatically replied YES. Our drinks soon came out. The water was fresh and clean. My Wife’s Lemonade was absolutely delicious. But my Iced Tea was awful. Unfortunately no sugar came with it, so I couldn’t salvage it. I sipped at it here and there, but mostly drank water. It took about twenty minutes for our food to come out. First an appetizer, then my entrée. Then our second appetizer and my Wife’s entrée came out at the same time immediately after, causing us to believe our appetizers had been sitting in the kitchen, forgotten. We shrugged off that minor annoyance and dug in. Our first appetizer was the Queso Dip n chips. The Mexican-Flag colored chips were delicious thin cantina-style chips. It came with queso dip in one cup that was good, just a bit better that Frito-Lay queso dip in a can. At least it hadn’t formed skin. In another cup was a potpourri of salsa(good), guacamole(great) and sour cream(sour cream). Mixed together on a chip, and its a tasty bite. At least there was plenty of queso dip. Our second appetizer was Danny Trejo’s Tacos. Advertised as the actors family recipe. They were definitely someone’s recipe, as the ground beef was flavored unlike anything I’ve ever had. Not the best in the world, but very good and different. I’ve never seen such tiny tacos dorados before, but they sure were good. The red sauce it came with wasn’t that great, so I started dipping these tacos in the leftover Queso dip from our other appetizer. That was a yummy combo. My wife had a Bacon Burger off the lunch special menu. Tons of bacon in this patty, which not only made it taste better, but gave the patty a crisper texture. She built it up from the ingredients on her plate, and got to grubbin’. She loved it, but couldn’t finish it, it was too big and filling. Her fries it came with were thick-cut standard fare. She was dipping them in the Queso dip as well. I got a colossal burger. The Gregory Peck. It is a massive knife-and-fork burger with onion rings and chili-chees fries in it. It not as big as it appears once you start to break it down, as the three massive onion-rings are like a house of cards, giving the illusion of having mass. Good, because I couldn’t have finished something that big. As I dug into this thing, I quickly realized that the Brioche bun was just in the way. This dish would be just as good chopped up and served in a bowl, but then it wouldn’t look so pretty. I eventually got rid of the bun and just ate all the ingredients. This Burger pile was quite good, a menagerie of taste and texture than was a pure delight with every bite, once I got the bun out of the way. Our waitress checked on us here and there, refilled our drinks here and there, and was friendly enough. The bathrooms are small and clean. Our check was taken care of with the quickness. We will come back someday. As we walked out, Dude on the corner inviting people into the restaurant like a village announcer invited us to come in and eat. We just giggled and walked towards the pier together, this was a meal that needed to be walked off.

I just happened to visit yesterday on a rainy, beach day. It worked out really nice, as there wasn’t too much of a crowd. It was the perfect way to check out a new spot. I love all the art work displayed! Most(if not all) art is for sale. Chris, their promoter, told us all about their art shows on Thursdays. He really emphasized how 2nd Floor is about supporting local artists to the fullest. They have $ 5 Blood Mary’s plus a table full of all the fixings your little heart could possibly desire. To name a few: green olives, jalapenos, bacon, raw garlic, and like 6 different hot sauces… Their bloody mary’s are deslish on their own but it’s awesome to have so many choices to add. To be honest, we went for the Bloody Mary Bar… but stayed because we were having so much fun! We decided to order burgers since we were just a few minutes late for breakfast. I was able to catch a peek of some last min breakfast orders going out though and they looked pretty fantastic. I ordered the Rick Walters burger(stuffed patty w/mushrooms & swiss on top) and my old man had the Izzy Burger(stuffed patty w/blue cheese) Both were sooo good. Slightly messy but who freaking cares! We started out thinking we would share but actually couldn’t even finish half of our own burgers. We ended up having another bloody mary(or 2) and then several beers. The servers & bartenders were all super friendly! They were always stopping by our table, asking if we were good or needed anything. We had fun puppy watching too! Their patio is dog friendly & they’ll even bring them out their very own dog bowl with water. Only negative thing I have to report: After staying for hours and hours having drinks, we had our leftovers at the table we had been sitting at all day. We stepped outside for 5 minutes, came back and they were gone. I let the bartender know and all she said was«Ohh…Sorry.» That was $ 13 worth of burger(and my lunch for the next day) that just got tossed! The least they could have done is offer us a round on the house, especially after how long we had been there. However, it’s not something I’ll lose sleep over. We really did have a great first time at 2nd Floor. From the art work to the service to the quality of food & drinks, I can say we were both totally pleased! Looking forward to trying more off the menu; especially if I can make it time for brunch next week haha…
