I got married about a month ago and worked with Joanna for alterations on my wedding dress. I am so glad that I chose her instead of the alterations department of the store where I purchased the dress! She is very professional, honest, and reasonably priced. I ended up going by myself for my initial appointment with Jonna and had a great experience! I was a bit nervous, but I felt at ease and trusted her judgement. I don’t have a lot of experience working with a seamstress and I was concerned that it would be like going for an oil change and then getting convinced of all of the extra services I ‘need’. This was completely incorrect! I was impressed with her candor in deciding whether certain alterations would be worth the cost versus benefit. She did a wonderful job with great quality work, a reasonable timeline, and friendly and flexible service!

I recently got married and worked with Joanna for my wedding dress alterations. I am also expecting my first baby and was mainly concerned of the fit and timing of adjustments for my wedding dress. Joanna is a great seamstress! She was professional, thorough, and her price is fair. I had several dress fittings as my belly grew in a short time span. Joanna was understanding and accommodating in that I picked up my wedding dress 3 days before my actual wedding day! It fit beautifully and perfectly. I highly recommend Joanna and plan to continue to work with her for any future alteration needs.

I bought a wedding gown 3 times my size and I also needed a big alteration in the back, since I wanted it to be strapless. So she had to do a lot of alterations. To be honest I was kinda nervous, because the front seemed way to big for me. And we didn’t have much time until the wedding. But Joanna said she would work overnight if needed. So she ended up finishing the dress earlier, and I went for my last fitting 1 week and a half before the wedding and the dress was just PERFECT! She is amazing, she changed the whole design of my dress and she seemed so confident doing it. At the same time she’s very calm and listened to what I wanted.
I got so many compliments, everyone said I looked like a mermaid. I can’t thank her enough for such great job. I definitely recommend her service to any bride who’s afraid to trust their special dress to someone they don’t know.

I purchased my dress «off the rack» and she thoughtfully made it mine. She is extremely thorough and her prices are very fair. My wedding dress fit beautifully and I got so very many compliments on it. Joanna’s finished product made me feel like a million dollars!

I am VERY late doing this review since I got married last year, but I wanted to make sure I shared what a positive experience I had working with Joanna. She was professional, affordable and (most importantly) super talented. My dress fit like a glove after her alterations, and I felt absolutely perfect on my wedding day.

Joanna did an amazing job in a short period of time… two days for a couture evening gown! Fair prices! It’s so hard to find a great tailor and I’m so happy I found her! Very flexible hours. Definitely try her out!!!

I got my wedding dress from David’s Bridal. When I was there they told me I’d have to get it taken in, but I wasn’t sure so I called Joanna and brought it to her. I have a corset dress so she showed me what it would look like if I just tied it tighter and it was fine which saved me a bunch of money not getting it taken it. Also David’s Bridal convinced me I needed a bra, but Joanna showed me how much better it would look with cups so now it looks great and I will be more comfortable.
If I would have gotten it altered at David’s Bridal I would have spent a bunch of money to get it taken in so I’m so glad that I took my dress to Joanna. Her prices are very good and to top it off she is a very nice person. I will definitely be going to her again if I need alterations in the future.

I am member of the two wedding dress club. When I saw it listed on eBay, I was mesmerized. When the seller listed the measurements, I knew it was a sign from God. I bought the dress on eBay thinking it would fit me like a glove based on the seller’s measurements. It was wee bit small & alterations would be needed. But how do you add five inches to the waist?!? I was in a panic. The wedding dress, which I fell in love with, was too small and my wedding was in ten weeks away. Could I lose the weight?
A friend had raved about what magnificent custom work Joanna had done on her Mother of the Bride ensemble so I called Joanna and she invited me to her shop immediately, despite the fact that she was in the middle of a massive custom bridal party order that was to go out the following day!
Upon arrival, her warm, radiant energy and apparent kindness put me at ease on the spot. She obviously takes great pride in her work and her appearance was that of Old World aristocracy! She reminded me of a character out of a great novel with the way she carried herself with such poise and elegance and she listened to my concerns about the fit and knew exactly what to do to make it right, pinning seams and agreeing that with a weight loss regimen we could bridge the gap of five inches. I knew at that moment, my major problem was solved.
She took my measurements and after showing me several different dress ideas, we agreed to meet for my first fitting in six weeks to allow me time for weight loss. Most seamstresses would recommend expensive alterations from the onset but not Joanna. She understood my desire to maintain the integrity of the design while looking my best and taking the most fiscally sound route. She was patient.
We met, but it appeared although I had met my target measurements, it was still snug. I also redballed Joanna and asked her to cut down a lace bolero that my cousin lent to me for the ceremony. It was that something borrowed. We chose the best bits of a few and along with my requests; she created the gown of my dreams practically overnight! We scheduled a visit within a week and I was shocked that she had already designed and sewn my gown and finished the bolero. I put the whole ensemble together and I cried. Joanna made my dreams come true!
Joanna is my Mother Teresa — she is such a lovely woman with a wonderful heart and soul and I will never be able to repay her for her help and kindness. She is a great example of someone who has retained a valuable Old World work ethic yet you would think she was the aristocrat!

Joanna is woooooooonderful! I took my wedding gown to her and just picked it up today, she could not have done a better job. I ordered my gown from a designer online and hadn’t been able to try it on, it turned out that it was probably a full size too big. Joanna took it in at all the right places and even did a few extra things (like reshaping a seam at the bust line) just because she thought it would look better. I saw her for 2 fittings and then the 3^rd fitting was when I picked it up and it was very quick, all 3 times I was on a break from work and it only took maybe 15 – 20 minutes maximum for her to do all the pinning. She knows what she is doing so she’s pretty quick. She is very professional, very sweet, her attention to detail is great, and her prices are extremely fair.
Trust me on this one, take your wedding dress to Joanna before you take it anywhere else!

I’m in a wedding next month and needed some major alterations on my bridesmaid dress (taken in! Woo!). I gave Joanna a call to arrange an appointment, which Joanna was very kind to accommodate to my kind of awful schedule. She reminded me to bring the bra and shoes I’d be wearing with the dress to make the alterations perfect.
Her studio is run out of the back of her home. She had me get into the dress, pinned up the garment, explained the alterations she’d be making and let me know when I can pick it up, which will be a couple weeks from now. Joanna was sweet, efficient and helpful.
