The Prospect Restaurant

An above average find in this area. First the location is a bit odd. When you walk in you are not really sure if you are allowed to enter. Certainly not welcoming. We looked around for a bit before finding a room marked office and they were able to direct us to the restaurant. I ordered the bacon wrapped shrimp and the skirt steak. The shrimp dish was good but I really believe a dish like this served on a skewer should have had the tails removed from the shrimp. The skirt steak tasted ok but i Lisa Typrowicz was oddly prepared. Served more like a steak medallions. It was pre-​cut into small pieces prior to arriving at my table. Staff was friendly. Décor was average.

I’ve been going here for years. It’s a classy place with great food and wine. Sometimes they’ll have a piano player playing in front of the fireplace. I would highly recommend anyone to give this place a try.

This restaurant is not just terrible, but dangerous. My family ate there on the evening of January 2^nd. We woke up at 2:00 am and three of the four of us were dangerously ill – including my two children. We were staying at the lodge, and the night manager (who is also the chef and, we learned later, part owner) was rude, dismissive, and unapologetic. My son, who is 10, required medical attention to stop vomiting. Our pediatrician told us that the only explanation was food poisoning. We had to cancel our trip and return home.

This was among the worst overall meal experiences I have ever had. I eat out almost daily and had dined here years ago and remembered it being a decent meal. On this night we were part of a party of 8. Out of 17 total dishes ordered only 2 were cooked properly or had the proper taste for the dish ordered. On top of that the service was unprofessional and unattentive. I went to management to discuss my concerns and give them an opportunity to correct things but it was a worthless attempt. Prior to the meal the owner claimed the food was phenomenal which is what sold us on giving the place a try. What a major disappointment. We will never return again.
