Famished in Kingwood after a long bout of image making – the taco, pupusa, tamale sign caught my eye at this place. The ascetic interior of this darkened place is kind of a bummer. I was beginning to think I’d made a mistake coming here. The kick-ass tacos that followed set me straight. I had a chicken mole taco that was off the hook. It’s also not something I see served too often. The barbacoa was equally awesome, followed by an al pastor taco. What makes these tacos stellar is that they are delightfully greasy. Like that kind of grease that you know is bad for you, but can’t stop eating ’cause it’s – Oh so goood! There is also an awesome home-made taste to the tacos. The corn tortillas are especially remarkable and fresh-tasting. Couldn’t tell you what the tamales are like, but my mom ordered a pupusa. Stay away. It’s a misrepresentation of what a pupusa should be. So points off! Overall, check em’ out. Seems like most of their business is to go, but they are definitely worth a taste if you are in the area.
