Convenient location for laser hair removal. They did a nice job and it was NOT painful in any way.

If I can give this place a no star I would. I went here with a groupon deal, but you get what you pay for. The place is disgusting. The service is horrible, the lady that works there does not really interact with you or even tell you anything about what you are gonna get done. When I went into the room with her, she had a sheet over the bed and it was dirty. She also did not give me any directions on what to do, instead she just stood there. I had to ask her if I had to remove any clothing instead of her telling me. The laser treatment was also not properly done, she didn’t even wear any safety glasses to protect her eyes. Stay alway from this place if you can.

I would give this place a zero if possible. They never answer the phone or return messages. The space and equipment is dated and dirty. The staff is unprofessional and I honestly do not know if they know what they’re doing. They made me feel uncomfortable and did not explain anything that they were doing. Horrible from start to finish and was lucky that groupon refunded my money.

I’ve had a good experience here. Friendly staff and the appointments are quick and to the point. I’ve never had to wait longer than about 30 seconds either!

I bought a Groupon for Laser hair removal because the website claimed to work on blonde hair. I signed up for the 6 treatments on my chin and they recommended appointments spaced 4 weeks apart for best results. Now I have been to countless(20 or more) laser centers with moderately good results on my legs, armpits, bikini, etc, but everyone said their lasers wouldn’t work on my very light blond chin hairs(it happens when you get old girls, get over it.) So I was excited to find this place. Since I have been to so, so many salons in my life, the first thing I noticed at Soft as Silk was the weirdly quiet, unfriendly(not mean, just totally, completely unfriendly, as in not ONE person welcomed me or introduced themselves or explained the salon or treatments) and unprofessional environment of this«salon.» I filled out paperwork, but no one even looked at any of it before my first treatment. Their main mantra before the appt was«shave the area, shave the area, shave the area». All messages and appt calls were met with this statement. So, before my first treatment, LaserWoman asks me «so where is the hair you want me to treat.» At other salons I have been to, they want to see the treatment area and hair for themselves when it deals with facial hair and THEN I shave it quickly and get the laser treatment. So LaserWoman(I call her this as I STILL don’t know her name from a card or an introduction) sets to work wordlessly and personality-lessly, sometimes not even answering some of my questions(autism?) and never, ever smiling or asking about comfort or anything else all other salons show as good service. LaserWoman doesn’t wear ANY protective glasses and just seemingly randomly picked a few areas — sometimes lasering one area 3 – 5 times and not touching where I told her the hairs were. Some laser shots were painful and extremely burn-y and you could tell it was because she wasn’t placing the laser wand on the skin correctly.(Does she really close her eyes as another reviewer states??! Holy shit, no wonder, it makes sense now!) I didn’t have any facial blistering from this, but some MAJOR red marks in 4 different places showed up that night. The 2nd treatment: I decided to NOT shave the little chin area to show LaserWoman where the areas were she should center on. She almost had a head explosion with the concept just saying she couldn’t treat the area without it being shaved. Duh. She wouldn’t even LOOK at the area unshaved, just stood there like a confused dumass. Sigh. So I took 4 seconds and shaved and off we went. It was better skin burn-wise, but still horribly random wand placements on my face. These are weird people and a weird place and a weird experience. I tried to make small talk about my having to drive an hour from my home and the traffic and the weather— NOTHING. Oh well, creepy, but if you want to be an uncaring, dead-eyed dullard, more power to you, just get out of the service industry. I have forced myself to return for 4 of the 6 treatments, but this last one I drove the hour from my house to Soft as Silk, only to get there and LaserWoman is playing with an unworking laser machine with liquid pouring out of it onto the floor. I think I got a bare 2 words of an apology in an aside and NOTHING offered to make up for my total waste of time going there. Hey, things break, but YOUAREIN A SERVICEINDUSTRY, dummass, at least CARE about your clients. So, back to the hair removal: definitely not worth it. I may have a couple less hairs now than when I started, but overall this laser DOESNOT work as stated on blonde hair — whether this is because of the laser itself or the ridiculous performance of the weird woman slopping it blindly and randomly all over my face. Go somewhere else and save yourself the sad, weird experience of this house of odd.

Initial review. I have purchased a 6 time visit for removal so this is based off the first time. It was slightly uncomfortable as not much was explained to me besides pretty much get on the table. Maybe the worker is shy but I expected more of an explination and maybe some conversation to make it less uncomfortable. I did find it to be painful. She did check to make sure that I was ok. I did not feel like she«got everything» and as its been a few weeks later I see that she didnt. This is only after my first time. I see some areas that I know she got had focus on during the treatment with significantly less hair but in other areas it was like I had not gotten anything. I feel like she didnt put much effort into it as I expected. She did not move my legs at all to get to the spots that needed to be done and it shows what she missed. I really hope that it gets better as it goes on and I will review again once its over.

I wish I could give ZERO stars! I wish I could make everyone read this… she burned my face!!! didn’t make any small talk, wasn’t personable, doesn’t wear laser goggles and said she«closes her eyes» while she does the laser. I wish I could post pictures. I called and demanded a refund. She BURNEDMYFACE!!! I’ve had laser for years at several places and I’ve never been burned. I honestly think the three 5 star reviews are fake… I had the worst experience. Now I’m burned and scarred on my neck and both sides of my face!!!

Disappointed with eyelash extensions on first visit, lost so many had to return. Went back a couple of more times and it was better. Didn’t like the fact technician had her dog in a play pen in the same room… smelled and truly unprofessional!!!

I was in Soft As Silk about two weeks ago, through a Groupon deal. I was sold the minute I walked through the door. The walls are painted a vibrant red and gold, very warm and inviting, not like the bigger places. Kathleen, the owner, was very informative and made me feel very comfortable. If anyone who has had laser hair removal before, you can sometimes feel a little awkward. But with Kathleen, she made me feel as if I’ve been going to her my whole life. The laser, made by Palomar, was not painful at all, actually at little cooling. Since they also have skin care there, I booked a facial with Kathleen. They also do eye lash extensions and spray tanning. Give Soft As Silk a try. YOUWON’T BEDISAPPOINTED!
