Yumi Skin Care

Can’t speak of the service as never got to the point of making an appointment… But can speak of the WAY Yumi handles her business. Not professional at all, simply terrible… will tell you why:
I called to make an appointment during week day twice; left the message. It took 2 days for Yumi to reach out back to me, and not by calling, by texting! She asked what day/​time, I asked for «the following week Tuesday» (⁰⁵⁄₃₁). She says it’s confirmed.
Then she texts me 3 days later asking if I change my mind to let her know 3 days ahead. WTH?! Did I give her any reason, or she needs that time for somebody else… I say I’m not planning to cancel, she says Tuesday ⁰⁶⁄₀₇ is confirmed. Hmm… That is not «the following week», but in 2 weeks from the day I requested. I politely let her know I was hoping for ⁰⁵⁄₃₁ and if she has it available. She literally says «no I don’t, never mind, I’ll cancel June 7^th». And that was the end of her communication. I texted her asking what other days/​times that she has prior to ⁰⁶⁄₀₇? And if not, I don’t want to cancel. No reply. No phone call, which you would think would be the best and the quickest way to go through scheduling options convenient for both of us.
I see from the reviews Yumi «values her time», so do I. But let’s be clear, I wasn’t asking for a favor. I am client to be established who PAYS for services. And the way Yumi handles her appointment routine is absolutely unacceptable. You can’t do business over the text! You don’t even know me! No wonder this type of small business go out of business pretty quickly. Cheap prices with lack of other entrepreneurial skills can get you only that far. Luckily for us, customers, there are plenty choices among salons in close by Chinatown with competitive prices and very friendly and grateful estheticians.

Yumi is very personable & makes you feel comfortable! I felt so refreshed after my facial! This is my first facial here & I will definitely become a regular customer. $ 35 for a good facial cannot be beat on Westheimer!

Yumi is great! She’s a very nice lady, not only give you a facial but also beauty advices. I had bad acnes plus acne scars, but my face got a big and recognized improvement. Dont expect a spa-​style experience here, Yumi talks a lot so you’re not gonna rest (mostly giving you advice how to take care of ur skin), and she’s just gonna give you the facial type that fit your skin, and use the product for your skin type to help it looks its best. Me and my husband always drive from Dallas every 1,2 months to have her done ours. But its worth it!
Yumi has a huge amount of loyal customers. And most of them make appointment right after their last facial. So you do need appointment far ahead of the day you want.

Yumi Skin Care is nice. First when I got here I couldn’t find it, because I didn’t know it was on 2^nd floor. After the lady stand in front of the door I finally got here. She explain the process of skin clear, also she’s very nice and friendly to tell me eat healthy haha. The environment is very comfy and quiet. The price is great, overall are nice!

Seriously the worst facial I’ve ever gotten in my entire life. I don’t know if it was just my experience but this is not how facials are supposed to go. After making me sit under the steam machine for 15 minutes while she dealed with another client, she started extracting my skin WITHOUT washing her hands. She didn’t even bother cleaning my skin before or after extraction. After extraction, she applied some cream that made my face itch. After a few minutes, she grabbed a dirty warm towel and laid it across my face. Like hello?! Aren’t you suppose to be closing my pores after extracting not opening them again? Idk who gave this women a cosmetology license because she obviously has no idea what she’s doing. Two weeks later and the areas she extracted still has not healed. My face looked 10 times better before coming to her. I would not come back even if it was free. I’d rather pay a little more for a decent facial than f*** my face up coming here.

Yumi is great. She gives attention to detail and is efficient, quick, friendly, and knowledgeable. She has a loyal customer base — many of us have followed her for years. Prices are extremely reasonable. Can’t find a better value for the quality! Appointments only. No walk-​ins. Yumi is usually booked, back-​to-​back. She manages time extremely well, really cares about her customers and never makes you wait. Late appointments can throw everything off so be on time for your appointment.

This has to be the most unprofessional woman I have ever met. I had an appointment at 3:30. I text her at 3:20 to ask her which building she was in. At 3:30 she calls me asking where I am. I tell her I am there but I was trying to figure out where she was at. She cuts me off and says «your appointment at 3:30 it too late now sorry bye» and hangs up on me. WTF!!! I don’t know how good her facials are but I would rather pay the extra $ for better customer service.

She was great! The strip mall is a little run down, and I was a little unsure if I was in the right place because it’s a one person operation, so there’s no one to greet you. I had a facial and a back facial done. Yumi talks a lot, so if you prefer a silent esthetician, Yumi is not for you. But, your skin will look amazing. Also, any residual impurities will slide right out after the next few days. I wish I knew what she used, but it made my skin look good. At $ 35 for a facial, it’s worth a try.

Loved Yumi! She was amazing! Will be going back for sure! Who can beat $ 35?! Was my first facial and was very happy with the service and the end result.
