Great simple tacos that are full of flavor and cheap. This is a no frills place that is just about the food. There is a line but then the wait isn’t too long. Barbacoa: 4⁄5 had tons of meat and not greasy unlike other places but I just wished they served it with onion, lime, and cilantro Bacon super:4/5 Pork super:4/5 Tamale: 4⁄5 Chorizo and egg: 3⁄5 not bad but tasted like I could get it anywhere

My boyfriend and I came here for the first stop on our #10Tacos24Hours taco tour and I got the Chicharron & Egg while he got the Chicharron & Bean. The chicharron was surprisingly still crunchy, unlike the usual chicharron tacos I’ve had which are saucy and soft. While my boyfriend was a fan — he finds the usual chicharron too«fatty» — I don’t think I enjoy it as much(I’m a big fan of the gelatinous texture as it reminds me of tendon). But this aside, it was still a very solid taco. At times, the chicharron tasted just like butter which was deliciously indulgent and the eggs were nice and fluffy. I’m not really even a fan of breakfast tacos, but I did enjoy this one. I didn’t care much for the green sauce that came with the taco, but with one as buttery and rich as this one, it’s good enough without sauce.

This was great. The fresh, pillowy flour tortillas, the large selection of tacos and the menudo I had were all wonderful. We went on a Sunday morning after an early morning flight from St. Louis back home to the Houston metro. Not sure whether the new ownership will change things(the current proprietors are moving elsewhere) but this was pretty darn satisfying.

Besides the original Ninfa’s on Navigation in Second Ward, this is another landmark notable for exceptional food. Thing is, you gotta get here early for breakfast, the place gets packed pretty quick. My favorite breakfast tacos are the bacon egg bean and cheese and the potato and egg with cheese. That’s all you need to know. Haha! I’ve heard their lunch is pretty darn good, too.

Went yesterday for the first time. Super pleased with the tacos. We arrived early and missed the lines. Everyone we spoke to who worked there was very polite and left a great first impression.

When you talk about local, you have to go to this place! Definitely a neighborhood joint. It’s been around forever. The potatoes are amazing. Long lines if you get there too late. Try this place if you’re looking for a little authenticity in your life.

Tortilla was awesome. Fresh made and very tasty. Had the chorizo super, the bacon super, and a Carne guisada with cheese. Green sauce is very good. Not cheap, but will most definitely go back.

Long line. I wasn’t impressed at all. I wanted to try their tamales too but I will just wait for another time. I had the chorizo and egg taco. It was okay. From the looks of the crowd this is a neighborhood staple.

Go get some tacos from here. But seriously, this place is a little treasure tucked away on Navigation. It’s a small restaurant with limited seating, and a time range from 6am to 2pm, but it’s well worth it. If you see a line out the door, trust me, the food IS that good. Are the tacos better than Brother’s you ask? Yes, they are. Many places in Houston make good barbacoa tacos(typically only on Saturdays and Sundays) but Villa Arcos also has chicharron and bean tacos. Pork rinds. It’s absolutely amazing. Yes, you will bite into it and say«lawd hammercy yes!» I also had the bacon super sans cheese(bacon, potato, and egg). The tortilla, flour, is to die for. It melts in your mouth and is outrageous. I sound like a drunken person with extreme munchies, but if you have the chance, I highly recommend this place. It’s well worth any wait. TIP: Saturday afternoon, the wait is about 10 minutes opposed to anything longer during the week.

I’ve been coming to Villa Arcos since I was a kid. Hands down the best tacos in Houston or anywhere for that matter. The homemade tortilla’s can’t be matched. Everything is always made fresh to order. My favorite is the egg and sausage. Sounds simple, but combined with hot sauce you can’t get a better start to your day. My only advice is to arrive early and be prepared to wait a little while. Definitely worth your time to stop in.

I ordered to breakfast tacos, chicharon & egg and bacon super. I also got a half dozen pork tamales and a chocolate milk for $ 17.49. The chicharon and egg wasn’t that great, tasted like those chicharones that come in a bag from the store. The bacon super was pretty good pieces of bacon, lots of egg and cheese. The tamales were pretty big and had a decent taste, even better after adding their salsa. I thought the price was a little high from what I am used to at my other favorite breakfast taco and tamale place down the street. Overall the experience was pretty good and I didn’t really have any complaints. This is a very good spot and I think I will be coming here again.

Ok so how the fuck do I start?! This place is the motherfucking BOMBDIGGITY!!! I know I used that word but literally them tacos was heaven on earth. My friend and I felt like being some fatasses after a nice hang over so we ended up getting the supreme bacon and supreme chorizo tacos and let me tell you, they’re full of flavor! The bacon was my personal fav bc it crunchy but yet meaty inside. Chorizo was also delicioso but i was hung up on the bacon. The place looked like its family owned and seemed like they got some real sasss! so white people don’t be fussing if your order is taking forever or be asking if it’s gluten free bc these are some real Mexican ass yummy ass TACOS! There is a lot of people there so if you’re in a rush don’t bother coming yo!

Some of the best breakfast tacos in Houston. Yes, the wait can be long during peak hours but that’s because they make everything to order here. I love the bacon here… it’s thick and super crisp.

This place has awesome breakfast tacos! I got some to-go for my family, because we were helping my sister move. They accept card, which is always a plus for someone like me, who never carries cash. There isn’t much parking, so you’ll have to keep a lookout for street parking. I ordered potato/egg, bacon/potato, bean/egg tacos. They have really good flavor, and the tortillas are homemade. I waited only about 10 minutes before I got the order. Their hot sauce is awesome too!

These tacos are pretty gigantic. I wanted to try three, but that was definitely way too much. Two is even pushing it! I had their barbacoa, potato and egg, and carne guisada. Out of the three, the barbacoa was the tastiest. It was probably some of the best barbacoa I’ve ever had. Not fatty at all, and just stuffed with meat. The carne guisada was pretty tasty and super tender – it actually tasted just like the homemade stuff a friend made. I just wish it came in smaller chunks, but it’s so tender you can break it up easily. The potato and egg though, was super bland and one of the worst I’ve had. The potatoes tasted plain, boiled, like nothing else done to them. The cheese was boring congealed yellow… not the tasty white cheese that melts so well. Meh. I liked the green salsa, but it was more tomatillo based, and not the creamy green kind that I crave. It’s a bit of a drive for me, but I came at an off time(Saturday lunch), so I didn’t experience the long line mentioned in other reviews. The place is definitely not the cleanest… it’s along the lines of a taco truck… maybe worse.

The tacos are really quite good, and the hole-in-the-wall atmosphere lends some credibility to the joint. Probably some of the best breakfast tacos in town. But I must dock a star for the insanely long wait for the food. I genuinely think that 45 minutes is too long to wait for 4 breakfast tacos. Eggs, meat, taters and beans should not take that long, and if they do, you’re being seriously inefficient in the kitchen. That said, unlike what some others claim, they do take call-ahead orders(or at least they did Saturday when I called ahead and ordered). Just make sure not to head over there until the top end of their estimated wait time… and be prepared to wait anyway.

Awesome tacos! Thank baby buhdah they finally accept credit cards. Service is meh. Sometimes a rude lady at the window which is off putting but the tacos make it worth it… The chorizo super taco is crazy good! And the basic potato and egg with that complimentary green salsa is crazy delicious! Hardly no parking, but ample amount of seating. Sitting outside or near the window on a nice summer day with these tacos is an eretheral experience! Classic mom and pop taco house, they close early and are closed on Mondays. Line goes by quick, be patient and enjoy this awesome taco spot!

I could go on all day about how this is the BEST taco place in Houston. First of all it is in a shack off of beautifully renovated Navigation in Eado. The tacos are giant and filled with lots of meat and any items you want. They are not stingy on the meat. I came here and get the chorizo w/potato and the bean and cheese tostada every time! And I find the bacon super and the carne guisada and picadillo are both very tasty options as well. Try something new! The chichirones taco was a little oily but the flavor was spot on. I come here after the gym once a week. I love it. Hint: It’s best to go after 11am. Before 11, you get the brunch crowd coming for breakfast tacos. They serve everything all day btw. After 11 you can get to the front of the line really quickly and you don’t have to wait too long for your food.
