I get very anxious when it’s time for a haircut because of bad experiences in the past. I randomly heard of this place and decided to give it a shot. The first time I had visited I asked for Tony and just wanted to trim 2 inches off. He was very nice and got the job done as I wanted. My sister and I have been coming here since then. We are very pleased. I can’t give any opinions on hair colour or straightening but as far as haircut goes, Hannah, Tony and Lisa are all good. It’s a just bit pricey in my opinion.

Worst hair straightening ever im so disappointed by the hair strengthening which was super expensive and my hair fell out in 3 days these peeps charged my short hair $ 300 and my hair look like mess right now. They dont even wanna fix it. Worse place ever don’t ever get hair straightening here

Looks like I found my new spot. Excellent service. They washed my hair immediately after walking in. She understood exactly how I wanted my haircut and I walked out a very pleased customer. They also wash your hair before & after quickly massaging your head each time. There is a friendly, relaxing atmosphere here.

This is a review for Hannah, from Tony and Friends.
I am a non-​Asian woman so when my friend suggested going to this salon, I was a bit apprehensive. You see, I have very bushy, thin hair, and usually prefer going to a Hispanic salon or a place where I feel knows how to deal with frizzy, thin hair like mine. Hannah not only did a great job cutting my hair, but she can blow dry and iron my hair straight like it’s nobody’s business! Best of all, it was all for literally HALF the price I usually paid at a salon in Montrose. I have been here twice now and will continue to come for a trim every few months. This place is awesome! Hannah is awesome!

My husband’s go-​to haircut shop! He always and only comes here for his haircuts whenever he’s in town, and he is always 100% satisfied with the results. Not only does it look great right after the cut, but his hair is still super easy to maintain for the next few weeks afterwards. He rarely ever has to wait, and cost is very, very reasonable.

My husband always gets his hair cut from Hannah. She’s great. She takes her time cutting hair, not rushing through. She asks for what he wants and follow his instruction. Price is very reasonable, which is $ 15. I’ll try her myself later and update the review.

Definitely recommend calvin. He is the best! He takes a lot of time to make sure you get a great haircut, and he is always willing to work with your schedule.

If I could give this place zero stars I would. They don’t know how to cut hair. All they will do is mess up your hair and give you something you never wanted. To the guy with the Orange hair, don’t tell other people how you want their haircut. Thanks to you and how you messed up my brother’s hair, he’s now depressed about the way he looks because you thought you had the right to do whatever to his hair. The customer is always right. Stick to that.

My friend recommended this place to me since I was looking for a hair salon in china town for my mom/​my sis/​and myself. Upon entering, I was a bit worried because I wasn’t sure of their english proficiency and if they’d understand me. In the end, all three of us LOVED our haircuts.
None of us really had strict requirements (only expected a trim and some layers), but the one haircut that blew us away was the stylist who did my mother’s hair.
She has a severe case of hairloss and we were only expecting a light trim to give her remaining hair a better shape/​style. The stylist (didn’t catch his name) gave her a bob that made her look as if she regrew a voluminous set of hair! Both my sister and I were awed by his skill. He could’ve quickly given her a quick trim since she didn’t have much hair… but he definitely took his time to carefully give her the layers she needed to create the volume look.
We took pictures of my mom’s hair afterwards because it was just THAT good. So, yes, if you’re looking for a haircut place (25 short hair, 35 long hair) this is the place. If you have massive hairloss and could use a stylist that can if you an illusion of really thick hair, this is also the place.
We will definitely be returning here for our future haircuts :)

I went to this salon today because it was convenient. A salon that is opened on time compared to other salons in the area. I walked in without an appointment and didn’t have to wait. Calvin worked on my hair. He is nice and tries to get everything I requested. He really took his time on my hair to get it perfect. It was a good experience.

Solid. That’s the word I would use to describe this place.
I needed a haircut bad! But where do I go? I had spots recommended by friends and family and I tried them. They were good.
But today, I decided to let Unilocal help me out a bit. Looked in this area and thought why not — worse case scenario I would just wait a few weeks and get another cut or be bald for the summer. Perks of being a dude. :)
So I called and made an appointment and they set me up with Calvin.
I came in, they looked me up and Calvin started with the usual rinse and shampoo.
He then asked what kind of style do I want. I just told him to keep it short and make me look good. He nodded and proceeded to do his thing.
After the cut — rinse and shampoo again and he styled it nicely.
I have to say that I will be coming back. A lot of other places might offer perks such as massages etc. Buy if you’re looking to get just a cut at a really good price definitely come here and check it out.

I went here a few years ago but I recently returned because I’m very picky when it comes to someone cutting my hair! Hanna was my stylist and she is great I recommend her! She listens to what you want and give a great head massage when washing it!

I was feeling depressed earlier about my chemically induced haircut from a bleach job that went awry (do NOT go to a chain hair salon)!
I looked up on Unilocal at different salons in chinatown and came across this one. I’ve read some good things about tony and decided to book an appointment.
I told tony my hair woe, he listened, and suggested I do a hair treatment prior to the haircut (my hair looked mad greasy and oily when I came in, due to the olive oil that I thought would salvage my hair). the treatment took about 30 minutes and then onto the haircut.
I was very impressed on how meticulous and patient he was with cutting my hair. My hair looked super healthy and smooth by the time he finished! I was literally blown away. I can’t stop running my fingers through my hair! I will definitely come again for another cut!
Overall the price was fair and inexpensive

Been coming for 2 years now. The place is clean and the price is very reasonable. I have Hannah cut my hair every time. She is consistent, efficient, and I never have trouble making appointments even the day before — I’m out of there in 30 minutes every time including precut shampooing/​brief scalp massage.

Thank you Tony for working wonders on my hair! For the past three years I have gotten the digital perm, but I was ready for a change. My hair was getting too long to the point that it was feeling heavy and getting stuck in car doors, my purse zippers, and even in between my armpits (yeah I am serious!).
My mom recommended the owner Tony at Tony and Friends Salon. She has had her hair colored and cut by him before and recently we ran into her friend with beautiful hair color and style and she said she only goes to Tony, so I had to give him a try!
I came in with a picture that was significantly shorter than what I have ever had in my life and colored. I told him my anxiety about getting my hair cut short and I have never had my hair colored before. Tony listened to my concerns and gave me the cut and color to fit my look inspired by the picture I showed him. It has only been a few days and I am still in love with it! I have not had any regrets parting with my curls and long hair (yet).
When I called to make an appointment I was very happy that I was able to get one for the same day. My appointment took less than two hours and the price was very reasonable!

Tony loves what he does and is passionate about hair. My hair cut was top notch. He cut it wet, blow dried it, and then went over it again dry to make sure all of my layers fell just right. I would recommend getting a haircut here.
My problem is the color. My hair has been SO dry after only 2 appointments. My whole head of hair is dry and brittle. I have been deep conditioning it in preparation for my next scheduled hair appointment, which is back at my old stylists salon. The drive is farther, but at least my hair will not be this dry and brittle. I would not recommend getting color done here, particularly blond highlights. My last appointment in particular, the shampoo attendant left some product on the back of my head. The back of my head is still dry and itches from time to time. That was over 2 weeks ago.

It’s damn hard to find a stylist who can cut your hair the way you want it to look. I’m glad I listened to the Unilocalers here and checked out this place 6 months ago. I have gone to nowhere else since.
Calvin cuts my hair. Complete pro. But I’ve had others like Hannah cut my hair too and they are just as good.
I strongly recommend this place.

Ask for Lisa!
I don’t get haircuts very often because the thought of someone potentially ruining something that can’t be fixed easily scares the crap out of me. BUT, Lisa is very good a listening to what you ask for and does a great job every time. She definitely makes the anxiety I have for getting haircuts go away. I’ve gotten hair color twice here and she’s matched the color I asked for both times very well.

I’m on the hunt for an affordable haircut. Something ideally less than $ 30 and accepts credit cards. A friend recommended this place. Make sure you don’t come on Wednesdays because they’re closed. I walked in without an appointment and was taken straight back with almost no wait for a wash, then cut. The stylist didn’t speak any English. I did my best to mime that I wanted a trim about yay short. Her technique was decent. She basically gave me a version of her hairstyle — very straight and sleek. I always want volume! I need to learn how to say that in Vietnamese. What I really didn’t like was that she didn’t use any products in my hair before she flat ironed it and blew dry it.
I think it was a decent place to get a cut, but I’m still hunting.
