Tip Top Cleaners & Launderers

The cleaners washed my khaki wool slacks. The pants were ruined and it’s been a month since the incident. Although the cleaners acknowledged their mistake and promised me a check weeks ago, now the manager will not return my calls. If I could post pictures on Unilocal you would see how the pants were returned to me. Completely unsatisfactory.

I’m not a big dry cleaner, but the prices seem steep. One blouse is $ 6.60. One shirt and a pair of pants was around $ 15 but luckily I had a 15% off coupon from the back of my receipt at Krogers. Also, when I went to drop off, it appears they lost the shirts of the customer in front of me. He was behind the counter and the lady was showing him how to turn the machine. He was going through all the clothes looking for his dress shirts.

My husband and I just moved to Westbury and decided to try out Tip Top Cleaners based on the stellar reviews on Unilocal.We were sorely disappointed. First, our items were not ready at 5pm when we were told to come. About half of the order was ready and my husband was told that the driver hadn’t arrived yet and the second half of our order would be ready «sometime after 6.» So, it appears that they do not do any or all of the cleaning on site. This would explain why about half of my blouses had tags STAPLED to them. I had to go find a staple remover in the office as I put our clothes away and am not thrilled that my good silk work blouses now have staple holes in them. Now, our clothes do appear to have been expertly laundered, but they used an exorbitant amount of tissue paper and we’ve now got a big pile of tissue paper pulled from suit and blouse arms on our bedroom floor. But the main reason we won’t use them again is the price and the accounting. There was no inventory taken of our items on drop off and no itemized receipt provided. I THINK we have all of our things back, but I’m not sure. The bill for 3 suits, 3 pair of work slacks, 2 ladies sweaters and 5 blouses came to $ 67.56 (first bill) and $ 49.56 (second bill). Way too costly, and we just moved to Houston from Los Angeles, so we should know! Lastly, the receipts printed out from «Vogue Cleaners and Alterations» on 1433 Wirt Road, Houston, TX 77 055. We’re thinking that this is the facility where some or all of our things were laundered. We read those reviews on Unilocal and they were bad (along the lines of this experience), so I think there’s something to be said here for honesty in advertising.

I am always impressed by the service, time frame, and price of the quality work done at Tip Top! Can’t be beat in my opinion!

Great service, good rates, steady business. They are always extremely friendly and helpful. Very much a local, community feel.
