Food and service is great. Had bo bia, banh beo and the family combo for 2 for 3 people. Was more than enough food. Our bill came out to about $ 40. The canh chua by far the best I’ve had at a restaurant.

We’ve eaten here many times the past 3 yrs. their family style meals are good and rice platters are ok. The service is quick and ambience and cleanliness is on par with what you’re paying for the food. The management is terrible. Very unprofessional and demeaning. I have a store brand Visa card and they refused to take it. They said they only take visa and master cards. I asked them to swipe it because it’s really a Visa card. Then, they told me we only take debit. Ridiculous. If they took only debit and cash and it’s clearly posted in their store, I would gladly comply with that. Instead, I didn’t want to deal with the lady’s sour attitude and I walked out with out the $ 100 worth of take out. I’m sure they just gave it to the next family who ordered it.

The food was ok. Nothing really stood out. I came here at a busy time and there was a big table that came right before me. I still can’t understand they service style. The table all ordered noodles or some sort. Each person was brought their food at a very spaced out time. One guy already finished his meal and the rest of the table did not get theirs. The same thing happened to me too. My drink came first. Then the fish sauce. Next my food. Finally, I get the soup that came with the meal. A lot of wasted trips. Talk about efficiency.

So apparently you can’t use credit cards… tried giving the lady at the register 3 different credit cards and she turned all 3 away. She said they dont take business credit cards and also said that they cant take any credit cards that is used to earn miles or points. We gave her our personal credit card and she turned that away too. Dont say that you accept credit cards and turn all of them away. I understand the no Amex but no Visa or Mastercard?

The fam bam and I came here on a Saturday around noon and it was PACKED! Needless to say, it took us awhile to be seated, and looking around, the waiters were darting back and forth. After ordering, we waited and waited and waited some more… It took 40MINUTES after ordering for us to get our first food out(which were still only our appetizer) out!!! I understand it was crowded but that is definitely pushing it. Onto food: The egg rolls were a little overcooked, but were nice and crunchy with a good filling. The pork chops were perfectly crispy and juicy, but those were the only good points. There really wasn’t any flavor popping out, and it was impossible to see whether you were biting into bone or not. The seafood fried rice wasn’t too oily and the various vegetables and seafood blended well together. The jackfruit mung bean smoothie was delicious! It wasn’t overly sweet but distinctively fruity from the jackfruit, and I really enjoyed the subtle mung bean aftertaste. In the end, our meal definitely wasn’t worth the wait. Food is decent, but nothing special. Perhaps trying it at a less crowded hour would get you a better experience than mine.

This restaurant is always busy with customers coming in and out. Their banh kot and banh xeo is the same price, but shouldn’t be, in my opinion, because their banh kot is super small, compared to the banh xeo(not the biggest, but still bigger than the banh kot). The banh kot and banh xeo had the same distinct flavor to me because they were both made from the same ingredients… which isn’t supposed to be… Their tofu veggie com tam is tasty, but could do without all the extra msg… Waiters are somewhat attentive. You have to go up to the counter to pay for your meal. Their che ba mau is highly recommended; I wish they didn’t fill the glass with ice halfway, though… I only got half of a che ba mau, if you ask me…

Had goi cuon and bo bia in addition to com phan for 8. The goi cuon and bo bia were skimpy on the fillings, but the com phan was enough to feed 10. Of the components of the com phan, the water spinach and mussels were delicious. However, the shrimp and ca kho were way too salty. The chicken was dry and chewy and the canh chua was just average. I don’t expect great service from Vietnamese restaurants, but the service was poor and there were a lot of dirty tables.

This place serves all kinds of authentic Vietnamese food. In fact, the menu is quite overwhelming. On a recent visit, my mom and I went back and forth on whether to order com tam(their specialty), hu tieu, or the set group dishes. The waiter came to take our order 3 times and we still hadn’t decided lol. We finally decided on the 4 dish meal for 2 people for $ 20. It comes with Canh Chua(Sour Cat Fish Soup), Ca Kho To(Braised Cat Fish), Goi Tom(Shrimp Salad), and Hai Nâm(Hainan Chicken). The Ca Kho To is my favorite. Basically a braised fish cooked in a caramelized sauce. It’s popularly known as Clay Pot Fish too as that is what Vietnamese restaurants will serve it in. It has a sweet taste to it that I love. The chicken is only good with the sauce that is served with it, so don’t eat it by itself. This is an awesome deal and was way more then my mom and I could consume for lunch. This could have easily fed at least 1 more person. I ended up having leftovers to last two more meals.

The cooking has gone downhill. We used to frequent this place often(to go meals 3 times per week and occasional weekend eat in) but within the last year, the flavors are not the same. In addition, the restaurant is not that clean in the dinning area and service is non-existent. We will need to find another place for Vietnamese family meals and rice dishes. The noodle dishes(broth or dry) are so-so. Sadly, we’ll not be back.

I love this pace! Their banh beo is the #1 reason I come here and #2 is their com phan. Their canh chua and ca kho to is to die for. I’ve been to many places in Houston and I haven’t had any as good as Thuan kieu. Other items are ok. Their com tam is popular too but their nuoc mam to me isn’t all that. Service? Some days are good and some are bad. it’s the typical Asian restaurant. Can’t expect 5 star service lol

This place was a nice find. I came here with a co-worker and ordered their c1 special and it tasted wonderful. Decent portions and it was very filling. I highly suggest coming here if you’re in the mood for some rice platters.

Good variety of Vietnamese dishes. Great for family lunches or dinners. Recently stopped in with parents and the siblings and they all had the shaking beef(Bo Luc Lac). The rice had a hint of coconut, quite the change compared to tomato rice that is traditionally served. Loved it. Family style menu with a variety of dishes served with white rice is also delicious with decent portions. Their speciality however is the broken rice dishes served with grilled meats, egg cake, eggroll, sausage, etc. There are many options to choose from. I order the special broken rice plate which has a little bit of everything in it. :) The appetizers are also good. They have the nem cuon spring rolls, egg rolls, banh xeo, and more. So many dishes to choose from — the menu is a bit overwhelming.

This is my go to for cm tm and bún tht nng. The rice is always fresh and perfect while their ch, tàu h ky, ch giò etc is consistent. Nc mm is as close as you’ll get to your grandmother’s. Only thing I’d warn is that their soda chanh mui is over the top with sugar so it will be fine if you like ultra sweet drinking. I’ve never tried their ph, so won’t comment… though I’m not even sure if they serve ph here. The best thing about this place is their price!

A place for comfort Vietnamese food. 4 dishes for under $ 20. Fast service and not fine dining. If it’s your 1st time, may be frustrated with all the background noises. Good place to feed healthy good on a budget.

Went here for dinner with my bro’s, they ordered everything. Looks very clean inside with plenty of space. There’s round tables available also! Big screen tv to watch while eating, with a small window view of the kitchen. Ca kho to: –lots of sugar, pepper, taste very caramelized, some people might really like this. I added red peppers for spice. Egg rolls: –not bad, come with lots of herbs and veggies– I liked that. Fish sauce: –flavorless add more chili or Siracha Fried squid: –a tad salty, but it’s like that so you can eat it with rice! I liked the overall crunchyness and texture Salad: –wonderful I’m actually excited to try other things, stay tuned for updates! See photos and videos

There’s something about this place that keeps me coming back for more. I’ll give you a hint, it’s not the service. My mother actually introduced me to this restaurant and after looking at the ratings I thought it was going to be awful. To my surprise the Unilocalers got it wrong this time. —Let’s get the bad out of the way— Service… Just waive if you need something. They’ll never come otherwise, even by accident. You’ll get better results if you have a vietnamese person with you. This is one of those places where language matters. —Time for the good!— Pricing and portions are awesome if you’re looking at your wallet. For about $ 20 you and your friend can enjoy a meal and be very full! It works best with a couple and a child. Food was pretty good — both times I went I left a satisfied man. It’s relatively clean and has an open layout that reminds me of a cafeteria. That can’t be bad right? Overall, ignore the Unilocalers with less than 10 reviews and come in with your Vietnamese friend or bring me. :)

This Is my first time coming here and I have to say the food was pretty good. It’s in a good location where there are plenty of other restaurants or places to have tapioca shakes. I wasn’t impressed with the taste of the dish I had but it may be due to the fact that I’ve had better. Overall it’s a great place to have lunch or order to go.

It’s authentic, and they make good rice plates. That’s their speciality, what more can you ask for. We also got the Bun Bo Hue, which was really good, and a hotpot, which was decent. Don’t expect much as far as service goes, but what legit Asian restaurant has amazing service? You go for the food, not the service! We went during lunch, so it wasn’t too busy, so that helped.
