Had brunch a while back with some girlfriends and we had a lovely time. The food was good and the service was as well. We ordered a cheese and meats plate for an appetizer. As the main i had egg Benedict and also the crème brûlée french toast!(the description sounded so good i couldnt resist and i was right! Its a must try!!) the egg Benedict was good as well! Overall i think that every time i dine in i have a good experience. Would highly recommend their crème brûlée for dessert as well!

I have gone here twice, once for a date and once for a private room birthday party. I will say I was impressed by the wine selection and the quality of service. Servers are prompt but not pesky. Also, the food is delicious, especially the salads. Good choice as an eatery too.

Great pizza. Rest of the food is ok. I recommend it for happy hour in the City Center area. I recommend parking in the office building parking lot in front of City Center to avoid parking nightmare.

Tried TTR on a semi-busy Saturday night. Didn’t get the pairing suggestions and wine up-sell that I was expecting. The cocktail I ordered(a French 75) was not good. But we still really enjoyed our experience because the food and the service were really good. Started with the goat cheese appetizer, which is baked goat cheese with figs, candied walnuts, and bacon, plus toast on the side. All my favorite things in one dish. Can’t beat it. My companions ordered the scallop entrée, the pork chop, and the steak, and everyone raved about the quality of ingredients and the terrific flavors. I had a salad, which was adequate. I should have just ordered another goat cheese for my entrée. Our server was outstanding and very patient and accommodating. Will definitely go back to The Tasting Room.

I had planned to go in for New Years since I’m in town for work and it is close to my hotel. I walked in to ask if I needed a reservation and was told they are booked up but the bar was open. So that was helpful. But I decided to stay in because the two people that gave me that information looked at me like I didn’t belong. They were not hospitable at all. Very unfriendly and during my 3 month stay I will not be spending my money there.

Used to be my fav place for a nice dinner & great wine. Now it’s just a place for wine. Food isn’t as amazing as it used to be. I also notice the staff turnover for this place is very high. Came on Sunday night, checked in with a hostess who didn’t seem to care. She didn’t smile or welcomed us, just checked us in. Waitress was ok, not that friendly either. Food came out mediocre, at most. They used to have a creative menu, now it’s just average. It’s a wine bar, the food should be outstanding! Eh, not coming back for another dinner date to pay $ 70 for pizza & wine.

A nice place to relax in city center! My first stop in Houston of course had to involve wine. Though our group was not appropriately dressed for a wine bar, we were still treated as any other guest would be. We split a bottle of the rose du patron– very light and not too sweet at all. My friend ordered the Brie cheese plate to accompany the wine, a perfect light touch to this late night. Overall, I had nothing to complain about in this nice atmosphere. Especially with the beautiful holiday decorations, I was very pleased with this first night in Houston!

The happy hour prices are awesome and so is the pizza! Just wish the bartender was more attentive. He was everywhere except for where he needed to be.

I have been visiting here for at least couple times so I felt compelled to leave a review this time. Matt was our waiter and he recommended the following New Harbor Sauvignon blanc Zinfandel red wine They were smooth & fit our taste for the nigh. Absolutely love the atmosphere & the music. Rec it for a date night Bc the music is not too loud. Just the right ambiance but friends’ night would be good too.

A girlfriend and I went here on a Friday around 2:30. They had a nice $ 5/glass happy hour selection, half price per glass of some of their higher-end wines, and really good tapas. We ordered the ceviche and the pulled pork quesadillas. We were there for about three hours, the waiter was attentive but not overbearing, and the ambiance was nice. Will definitely return!

This place is great for wine; they have a large selection and you can also purchase bottles for reasonable prices. They even had a few of the brands I had a chance to see when I visited Napa this summer. The food, however, was hit and miss. I truly know it probably had more to do with what we ordered. For the starter we had the pork belly… it was par excellent! Yum! Then we tried their truffle fries with aioli… OMG, so delectable. Then me and my friend decided we were on a mission to be fatty. We decided to do burgers and pizza. Very underwhelming. Again, I’m thinking it’s what we ordered, because everything the waiter recommended was«on point»(pork belly and fries) and this was the one time we went against him. Pizza was just pizza, although the crust was good and who does not love fresh mozzarella. The hamburger was a disaster. The meat was NOT seasoned(I won’t say under seasoned because I tasted nothing), the bun was hard… my egg which I asked to be over easy and runny was over cooked and did not run. Disaster! Service was very attentive. Will try again, but try the recommended items next time(e.g., halibut).

All you really need to know, is get an order of truffle fries and the wine! It’s rare that I give out 5 stars, because I feel like 5 stars needs to go to a place that blows my mind, or, in this case, something that becomes a very steady go-to place that I would recommend. I love coming to this place for their happy hour after work because they have good drinks and decent food. Their dinner menu is quite pricey, but I really my go-to order is a glass of wine, or a bottle, if I’m sharing, maybe a pizza, but definitely, I always get an order of truffle fries! Wine: They have a varied selection of wines here, and I appreciate the fact that their staff is quite knowledgable about their wines and can give good recommendations. I always like to sample it before I get it though, just because you never know how your tastes compare to the staff’s. I really enjoy sweeter wines, and my favorite is probably the bosio moscato because it is a bit bubbly, not overpowering, but has a sweet taste to it was a crisp finish. The only downside to a place like this however, is most of what they sell are in bottles and they don’t have many options for just a glass of wine. Albeit, it is more than your typical restaurant, but I would have hoped that they would have a wider variety of wines by the glass. Their bottles are decently priced because I feel like they are worth the amount that you pay, however, that amount can range from $ 40-$ 100 for a bottle of wine here, so I hope your taste is proportional to the size of your wallet. Food: Like I mentioned earlier, I always get an order of truffle fries here. They give you a pretty hefty portion in a cone and it’s seasoned very well with plenty of parmesan and truffles and comes with a delicious garlic aioli. While the main entrees may be a bit on the pricier side of things, the fries are yummy and they don’t break the bank for a big portion. If you’re looking for something on the more affordable side of things, they have a great selection of personal pizzas and their burgers aren’t too bad either. Atmosphere: This is a really casual place, and it’s great to meet up with friends and just grab a drink after work. They also have outdoor seating where you can enjoy a cigar that they sell as well. They have plenty of space to sit on the inside, but at certain peak hours, it can get a bit crowded and there may be a wait depending on how many people are in your party. On Friday nights, they have live entertainment as well. It’s also nice that since it’s part of city center, you can always walk around before or after so there’s always something to do. Service: They have pretty good service, with very cordial staff members who are polite and knowledgable about what their menu. Overall, I was satisfied with their service. As mentioned, this is a solid go-to place for wine and a nice night with friends, and the fries really just push it over the top to give it that 5 star rating!

I have always been a big fan of the Tasting Room and this location continues to deliver a great experience with great service. Tasting Room is one of my local rotations for catching up with friends or for happy hour. Having a wide selection of wine available by the glass or bottle allows me to try different pairings. I almost always try something different each time I visit. The staff is knowledgeable and has been very helpful in my wine and food selections. The ambiance allows me to relax and enjoy catching up with friends over great wine and conversation. I like the big window views that let in all that great sunshine we get in Houston in the comfort of good olé A/C! If you find yourself in the Memorial City/City Centre area, be sure to check out Tasting Room for a comforting and enjoyable wine experience.

Matthew knows beer and it was so fun talking with him today. He made our visit quite enjoyable. He’s the guy that is an exact clone of or perhaps the real Paul Giamatti. I seriously think it actually was him. No kidding. The Smoked Salmon pizza is one of the finest of any type of pizza I have ever tried in Texas. It would pair perfectly with a St. Arnold’s ICON due to the fact that the Japanese Sorachi Ace hop provides and aroma of dill, which would compliment the fresh dill used on the pizza. Cheese was superb and the smoked salmon, capers and fresh dill must have been added after the fire oven bake as the temps and textures were perfect. If you order a pizza here eat it FAST because the HVAC system in here is COLD. Felt like about 65 °F today and that’s gonna make your food cold fast. But the pizza was so nice eating it quick wasn’t hard to do. That pizza should come with a side of fresh sliced Meyer lemons chilled on ice to top it off. Pairs well with said St Arnold’s ICON(which they do not have, silly) and of course any white wine. Local craft beers are too expensive at $ 8 each(oops –1 star) and too limited ~ but will go back for other types of foods. Super cool staff. Photo of receipt uploaded. Ask for that same server. THATGUYKNOWSBEER!(+1 stars) = 5 stars

Nice wine bar in CityCentre. Ambiance is nice. Intimate with subtle music playing in background. Had a bottle of wine and two appetizers Garlic and Mozzarella Grilled Bread and Spinach and Artichoke Grilled Bread The wine, recommended by the waiter, was Circle U Reisling. First the appetizers both were good, but I really enjoyed the spinach artichoke on the toasted bread. It was rich, creamy, and delicious. I will definitely order this again. The Garlic Mozerella bread was good, if not ordinary. Be warned, the don’t skimp on garlic. Do not order unless you have gum or mouthwash. I ate it and offended myself. I’ll come again. Enjoyable experience. Enjoyable food and though its not cheap, it doesn’t break the bank. Although, we only ordered grilled bread, so it’s all subjective.

Summary– Somewhere between just mediocre and subpar dining experience. This review is based on brunch only. If I went for drinks as a primary purpose it would likely be 3 stars. Food– 2 Stars Breakfast Caprese salad was lacking so many things– Tomatoes weren’t good, missing a decent balsamic, and overall it just was not compelling in any way. Kids french toast was pretty darn good. Lobster Eggs Benedict was passable, the side«salad» was a joke, just a ton of arugula with some tomato thrown on top. I hate pointless plate fillers like that. The Chicken and biscuits with gravy was overall OK, the chicken was good, the biscuit OK, the gravy was far too thin and tasteless. Service– 3 Stars Being nice because it was Mothers Day, but it was painfully slow to get drinks and the wait staff(who were very nice) was clearly overwhelmed. They need to plan better if they want to seat that many people and that many large groups. Drinks– 3 Stars Personally, I don’t think you can serve brunch without a bloody mary, and they don’t have liquor, so there goes that. Otherwise a pretty good beer selection and the wines looked awesome. Atmosphere– 4 Stars It’s a cool place with an awesome patio. Value– 2 Stars Not great and not cheap.

This is my favorite go-to spot to grab some wine after dinner. Located in City Centre, its location is an ease to access. It is right next to Sal y Pimienta and across from Texas de Brazil. I am not a wine connoisseur, but I know my taste preference. I usually inform the staff my likes and dislikes, and they immediately know what wines to sample. Unfortunately, I have yet to try the food. The ambiance is perfect for date night, GNO, or group gatherings. It is nicely dimmed with a cozy setting. They do have live music playing some nights. There is outdoor seating as well, which is great when the weather cooperates. Parking isn’t a hassle. There is street parking as well as garage. Plenty of space. TR is apart of the same family as Añejo and Max’s Wine Dive. Try this place out if you’re in the area or any of the other Tasting Rooms! I find myself coming here again and again.

This place was the best choice for brunch with my group of girlfriends. There were pineapple jalapeño mimosas that were delicious and never-ending! The most popular dish that was ordered was the Eggs Benedict with its brioche toast, champagne hollandaise sauce, pancetta, and perfectly poached eggs! YUMYUMYUM! I originally wasn’t going to order it because it sounded like any other eggs Benedict, but I am so glad I did! It was like the new eggs Benedict upgrade! My sister ordered the smoked salmon pizza which was also delicious. Unfortunately, the toppings were not evenly placed so if you shared this pizza, then some of you got more than your fair share of toppings while the other didn’t. The bakery basket was also awesome. There were cranberry almond muffins and sausage jalapeño biscuits. The butter was so smooth and complimented each very well, while the molasses added a sweeter side to the biscuits. To top it off, the service was great. Our table was checked on multiple times and refilled very well with beverages, and of course waitresses more than willing to capture celebratory moments amongst girlfriends. Hats off to you Tasting Room, you’ll be seeing me as a regular!

I came to the Tasting Room on a Saturday afternoon. I had made reservations but due to the horrible parking at City Centre, i was late and they gave my table away. No big deal beacuse they sat us immediately on the covered patio where there was live music. Our waiter came very fast and was very attentive. A little too attentive if you ask me but I’ve experienced worse. I don’t know if he was just going wiht the flow of ambiance or if he just enjoys being in other peoples bubbles but every time he came to our table he would lean over the table and whisper sweet nothings(from the menu) to us. It became quite funny. Anywhoo, we orderd a half caraf of white Sangria and it was delish! My friend ordered the tomato basil grilled bread and i had the mozerella and garlic bread. OMG, best bread ever! *drools* For our entrée she ordered the pollo something or another and i ordered the ribeye skewers with mushrooms. Best decision i’ve made in 2014, they were so juicy and mouth watering! The live entertainment catered to the crowd and was very interactive. I couldn’t have picked a better place to be. Can’t wait to go back!
