If you are bored in Houston on a Saturday night or looking for a new date spot you must stop by! I love how they repurposed the former SUCCESS rice grain silos into a new arts community in the Washington Avenue Arts District. The silos are composed of 28 interconnected circular rooms kinda like a honeycomb and each comb acts as a unique showcase and space which currently contains the SITE I HOUSTON inaugural silos exhibition on display NOV. 6, 2015 — JAN. 30, 2016 from 5 – 9PM and extended hours on Second Saturday’s from 2 – 9PM. The current exhibit features a contemporary installation featuring Houston-based artists responding to the unique challenge of non-traditional space, and marks the grand opening of Houston’s newest studio complex, the Silos on Sawyer. My favorite part about this installation is how unique each exhibit is. There are some that feature geometric shapes and colors, black and white, photo disc mobile, swings, tinker toys, lights/illuminations, water dripping down weathering rocks, and pulley/see-saw exhibits. My favorite was the empty room, or what was seemingly an open room, but actually when you run around it like a hampster in a ball, magic happens! For information about SITE, visit or the silos at
