The River Oaks High Rise

the water is not drinkable it make brown ice. There was NO heat this weather then the weter was in the 30’s.There are leaks all the time. I just had a leak for 3 days and the smell is so bad in my apartment and management does NOTHING about it. Owner of the building is a total BITCH. They go through management every 4 – 6 months. I can go on and on for days…

A NIGHTMARE of a place to reside. I lived here 2 years and after I signed my second lease new management was brought in and it was a TOTAL NIGHTMARE after that.
Lets begin with the building. Each apartment depending on the size provides you with plenty of room. On first glance you will see the beautiful floors and a beautiful view outs of the walls which are all glass. WHAT YOU DONT SEE… is the mold that runs through the pipes, the brown water that stains your clothes as you wash, and so many more complaints that I cant explain.
NOW TO THE OWNERS, the Owners are from Boston (I believe) and the wife is a total racist. The building is full of people that earn well into the 7 figures and those on the lower end who earn a six figure income. Reason this was said… as I was getting into the elevator the owner who was visiting the facility asked the concierge «who is the Spanish looking male with the black kid getting into the elevator». He responded «a resident». (this conversation was shared with me by the concierge). Later it was said that she went to the on site management and was told they need to screen potential residents better.
If you want to keep your hard earn money… STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. I will say, we read the reviews on another site and dismissed it as an angry resident. I left smiling as I came in and in no way am I writing this out of anger. I’m simply trying to stop someone from making the same mistake we made.
THIS PLACE GETS NO STARS… not a single one. However Unilocal forced me to give one.

Bad news… Old building, no maintenance, constant leaks, floods… Poor a/​c and heating… In winter you freeze, in summer you sweat…
Worst of all horrible and very rude owners…
Don’t even think about moving there…

I was searching for an apartment about a year ago and visited this building. Not only did the waiting room smell musty, but the leasing agent was very rude. She seemed very shady to me and we left without even viewing a unit.
