Wonderful place to get your jewelry repaired. Repaired my ring while I was waiting. No charge, just asked for a donation to charity if I wanted to do something.

Had my wife’s engagement ring repaired here. They were friendly, reasonable, and genuinely interested in helping me. I’ll definitely go back, next time I need any jewelry repaired.

Surprisingly easy and shockingly enjoyable process to deal with this family owned business. They obviously love what they do and it shows. I highly recommend this store. Everyone who works here is helpful and when I stopped by looking for something specific they seemed determined to help me find it. This was the exact opposite of other jewelry stores who all seemed determined to help me find something in the case nearest to the salesperson«assisting» me with no regard for what I actually wanted. Take your business here, you won’t be disappointed in the service, and I’m certain you will return as I have.

I took a ring in to be resized — a little vintage piece that was a size 2.5 and I needed it sized up to a 5.5. I was expecting the ring to become misshapen or be able to tell that it was resized, but I can’t! They did a wonderful job, and polished the ring beautifully as well. I think they are a little on the pricey side, but the service and quality is worth it.

This is now my jewelry home. Excellent service. Wonderful pleasant people wait on you quickly. They have been working with me to correctly size a wrist chain on a sterling silver thumb splint. During one of my visits, I discussed my antique diamond platinum ring that was left to me by my aunt. They checked the prongs and quickly steam cleaned it for me without charge. The house in which they are located is charming. Read about them on their web site. I love to support local small businesses. I have no reason to ever go to a chain or large jewelry store since finding them. They have lovely pre-used pieces as well as new items for sale.

This place has one very pleasant surprise– they will clean your wedding rings/jewelry for free! I called them to get a quote and a time frame, and to my surprise, they told me they would do it on the spot with no cost. I told them I loved them of course! I went in and this is exactly what happened. Now my wedding set looks shiny again :) My only complaint would be that I took in a necklace along with my rings. This necklace had a stone set into it. She cleaned it as well but when she came out, she said the stone had conveniently fallen out. She said it would have happened anyways, which might be the case(and why I dont think it was a scam) but still. it crossed my mind. Despite it, it will only be 10 – 15 dollars to fix. I would recommend this place. free cleaning– no complaint! PS– for those looking for rings and jewelry, they have a very tasteful selection.

We had a very positive experience working with the staff. They were friendly, professional, and patiently worked with us to design a unique engagement ring. They went the extra mile to take care of us when there were complications. If you want something creative, they are the ideal jeweler. They are a small, family-run business that have been around for 30 plus years, so their experience will help you find what you are looking for.

Engagements tend to involve a lot of visits to the jewelry store, which is why it’s important to pick the right one(the right store, that is, though you should pick the right engagement, too). First, there’s the engagement ring. Then come the wedding bands, sizings, engravings, etc. For the past year, I’ve been in and out of Galaxie for all of the above, and the service I have received has been nothing short of outstanding. The first time I went, I was looking for an engagement ring. I had already visited several larger retail stores and wholesale jewelers when my mother suggested that I go to Galaxie; she had used them in the past for various jewelry needs and had always been pleased with the result. I took her advice, and after one conversation with the owner, Kip, I made up my mind that this was the spot. I had called in ahead of time to let him know why I was coming and what I was looking for, so that when I arrived, he was ready with a small spread of diamonds that he himself had selected from his supplier. For all I know, I could have bought a glitzier diamond for less money somewhere else. However, if I learned anything from looking at a bunch of diamonds through powerful magnifying glasses in highly-lit settings, it’s that only an expert eye can make out the minute differences between various top-grade stones. What mattered most to me was that Kip seemed like someone I could trust. He and his father have owned the store for more than forty years, which speaks to both their expertise and the quality of service that they provide. At the end of the day, I simply felt better about buying from Galaxie — a small, family-owned store with personality and a heart — than I did about buying from someplace bigger. Call it a case of the«You’ve Got Mail» syndrome. If you want to read more information about the store, the owners, and their convictions, I recommend visiting their website( ), which in its humble, no-nonsense charm is a lot like the shop itself. Not every kiss begins with Kay, and it can’t only be Jared. If you’re a Houstonian in the market for custom-made jewelry, or if you need a piece of jewelry repaired or a ring re-sized, then take my advice and go to Galaxie.

I was sized as a 7.5 in a jewelry store in Pennsylvania, but had my mother-in-law order my engagement ring from a jeweler she knew in Philadelphia. When I received the ring, I found the ring easy to put on but painful to take off without some soap and water. Returning the ring to the original vendor was going to be too much of a hassle. At this point, I went to two jewelry stores in the Galleria, where they stated I would need an 8.5 ring size. This struck me as a little odd that it needed to be a whole size bigger because once over my PIP joint(the big finger joint), the ring was borderline loose around my finger. They offered to upsize my platinum ring for $ 250 with a defect that would be noticeable upon closer inspection, at which point I decided to shop around for a better quality repair. Then I found some favorable reviews for a Houston jewelry repair shop called Galaxie. This beautiful jewelry«home» was a Godsend. The outside of the establishment had a nice vintage home look to it that was perfected paired with a wonderful, caring staff. The gentleman who helped me measured the ring and placed it on my finger after telling me to relax my hand, which I didn’t realize would make such a big difference. Then, he commenced taking the ring off my finger painlessly. He told me he had the same problem as me, a big joint for my finger thickness, and he explained that the ring actually fit me fine. Moreover, he taught me how to get my finger skin out of the way to remove the ring easily. All for free. Saved $ 250! Nice to see a business whose main priority is to help its customers! Thanks, Galaxie.

These guys always do excellent work and if it is not perfect they will work on it until it is! I have always taken my jewelry there to be repaired. It took one visit to a highly reputable jewelry store in Houston to resize a ring for me and it was extremely expensive to repair and they did a terrible job, telling me they could not resize the ring but would simply put balls in it to suffice. The balls hurt my finger and they removed them but did not offer a refund. I took it to Galaxie and it was absolutely perfect after one visit! They resized it with no problem at all. I developed arthritis recently in my ring finger and had to have a lot of rings made larger. They did a great job and the cost was very reasonable. I would never go anywhere else for repairs. I have also heard that they do great design work although I have never done this. This is a very friendly, professional place to go. I highly recommend it!

Back in high school(about 15 years ago) I worked with an antique jewelry vendor. She trusted no one but Galaxie Jewelers to work on her fine antique jewelry and with good reason. This business is a locally owned & family run led by a father/son team(one of them seems to always be there when I drop by). They provide courteous, friendly and knowledgeable service and really make you feel at home and comfortable. They do all the work in-house and their workmanship is way above those mall jewelry stores, all at very reasonable prices. The one time a pendant they fixed for me didn’t stay welded, I returned and they immediately took care of it at no charge and apologized for the inconvenience, no questions asked. The pendant has never fallen off again and its been years since the repair. I suggested Galaxie to my husband when he was getting my engagement ring made and choose them to make it. He says he never felt pressured to buy above his budget, they treated him really well and worked with him to design a beautiful ring for me. I can now go in whenever I want and have the ring cleaned and checked for free. They also sell a small selection of mostly vintage or newer unique but elegant, classic jewelry. My husband bought me a beautiful gray pearl bracelet there for a recent anniversary. In short, I would never go anywhere else to have my jewelry repaired or custom-made while I live in Houston! Their staff is extremely pleasant and often remembers who you are. Just such a nice change compared to the lack of service so common nowadays.
