The Council hosts many trainings and CEU seminars, so I’m here often. The staff is very helpful and the meeting spaces are nicely kept. My only ding is that I’ve never been successful connecting to their free Wi-Fi… But with so many wireless options, it’s really not an issue so much anymore.

I had the pleasure of attending a meeting and summit at CADA Houston. They graciously rent out their meeting rooms to companies and groups. The facility itself is mostly new with stamped concrete floors and generic, yet classy, furniture. During our summit we had the wonderful privilege of having Crystal Morrison speak with a group of students about the dangers of drugs and alcohol. She is a recovering addict herself and spoke with knowledge and humor that really reached the students deeply. CADA, obviously, is not just a meeting and conference space. It serves a very real and important function. They hold AA and 12 step meetings daily and offer special classes for parents, teens, and mother’s who are addicts. Their programming is comprehensive and goes from prevention and education to resources for getting off of any type of addiction(drugs to work to eating to sex) to long term support for recovery. This is a fabulous resource for our fair city and I hope that if you need help or know someone that does that you reach out to CADA Houston. They are conveniently located on Jackson Hill just off of Memorial Drive before you get to Shepherd.
