Day 5 of Houston Food Trip, Stop 2. Wanting to bring back a unique gift for friends from my Houston trip, I spent quite a while browsing through idea pages online and not finding anything that I was happy with. Then I got to the last item on one of the last lists left to read through and I knew immediately that this was exactly what I was looking for. Brownies in a jar. What a great idea. And to make it even more perfect, you can also customize any brownie dish exactly how you want it. This may end up being my favorite part of this entire vacation. The welcoming and accommodating nature of Melissa, the proprietor of this business was unparalleled. She went out of her way to work with me on putting together an order on the one day she was supposed to be closed. She went through the entire step by step process in detail of placing a custom order of brownies and what the various options are. There is a great selection of base brownies to work with, somewhere in the double digits including every type of chocolate you could think of. The topping, mix in and stir in selection is massive and I believe she will work with you even on some off menu items if it seems feasible. In addition to the base menu and custom options, she also has monthly flavors which are all very enticing. This month was Tipsy Irish Cream and I must say, it was quite tasty(and almost more rich than I could handle). There are a few other items available, but the last one I want to touch on are the gift jars. This is what I came for and I ended up taking home 4 of them to give to friends. They look great in the layered clear jars they come in and altogether it is just a very impressive offering. I believe in certain months she also has jars of cocoa mix which I unfortunately did not attempt to try. Overall, this is such a unique offering and for custom brownies this is «as good as it gets.»
