Tech Auto Maintenance

Brought bfs play car here to have some minor work done, said they couldn’t do it. Left it on the side of Waugh, unlocked and had it broken into. Would not recommend this place by any means. Waste of time and unprofessional staff.

These guys are fantastic. I’ve been twice because my car was stalling out. The first time I had my car in, it had died and I had it towed to Tech Auto. I had taken it to another mechanic shop in town who could not diagnose it. Tech Auto had my car done fast and replaced my fuel pump.
The second time I took my car in, I arrived at 5:30am and was waiting in the dark, cold for the shop to open at 7:00. But before 6, Michael got to work and saw my car sitting at the curb, came over to see if someone was inside, then let me sit in the shop waiting area even though it was super early and they weren’t technically open yet.
To my surprise, they looked into my car issue and had it repaired before 7am – when the shop officially opens.
That’s amazing.
Super friendly, down-​to-​earth, know their stuff, won’t upsell you just to get your money, fast.
Why didn’t I hear about them my first 5 years in Houston?!

the refreshing lack of bullshit i experienced at this spot had me lingering around. shootin’ the shit long after i could have been on my merry little way.
Bobby is hands down the best mechanic in Houston. i could definitely say more. but there is truly no need. it is what it is, my friends.

They have a recurring break-​in problem they don’t want anyone to know about. It is so bad that they leave all of the cars in the lot overnight, with a 5 foot fence to «protect», and leave the doors unlocked so the windows don’t keep getting broken.
When your car is victimized, they take the approach of «Blank You», it is not our problem.
Owner actually said that to me. Said there is no way to prevent it.
I’d go elsewhere where the busines actually may appreciate having paying customers, and empathy for unfortunate negligence.

Murphy’s Law that within days of paying my car off it starts to smell like antifreeze. I rolled up with a horrible smell of antifreeze blowing in through my A/​C but no idea of the cause. Within 10 minutes Bobby had filled up my coolant tank with water and pumped it through my system to figure out where the leak was. Before my own eyes I saw the leak, cracked radiator, had to be replaced. Within another 10 minutes he had parts and labor costs, was driving me home while they fixed my car. Did I mention that was at 2 p.m. By 6 p.m. he called and said the car was ready. Whoa!
When I arrived to pay it was $ 75 less than what he quoted me. Whoa! Whoa! He test drove my car too, which tells me he’s got integrity, isn’t going to let me drive off with anything half baked. Bobby is really down to earth and shoots you straight. I will totally take my Jeep Liberty back to him if it needs anything else! You de bomb Bobby!

Bobby Harting has been the trusted guy «under my hood» since 1993 when i brought my first baby (a 1962 Ford Falcon) in for repair. He was the mechanic who offered tips and suggestions — even going so far as to tell me how to fix the simple problems I was having and lending me the tools to do it myself rather than having him charge me for something unnecessary.
He’s been with me through three vehicles and has continued to provide stellar and ridiculously quick service to me, my friends and family. Go see Bobby for all your auto needs!
