Do not waste your time if you need assistance of any kind. Good products but horrible service. I wanted to buy ski boots but there was literally not a single person to help. I will just be purchasing my equipment in Utah before my ski trip. I tried M2 but unfortunately they do not carry ski boots. In Houston apparently you cannot get selection and service.

If you are searching for high end quality items this place is it. We went looking for mid-range bike rack, bike clothing gear, bike lights, derby double impact helmet, and running armband for music. I found the armband for running which was on sale. A few employees asked if I needed help. We spent an hour and half in store. They seem to focus on winter and water sports. On plus side the store is small and plenty of parking.

Spent a bit more than I had planned initially, but got a great deal on all the things I needed for a bike; the guy who helped me was polite and didn’t try to sell me the most expensive thing he had, nor did he treat me like crap for being a bigger guy. A custom seat, and all the other concerns I had were answered quickly and knowledgeably, and I really appreciate his taking time to walk me through everything. Great experience, great customer service, and overall quite pleased and ready to start getting fit!

Nice staff who are eager to help! There wasn’t too much traffic in the store. Practically had the store all to myself. Got a pair of van shoes for $ 30 bucka. Great backpack selection BUT super pricey in my opinion.

Bike department was a huge disappointment. Drove in to purchase bike and gear for an upcoming triathlon and waited for 20 minutes while all three employees couldn’t be bothered and worked on bikes. I understand they are employed because of their knowledge and ability to assemble and service bikes, but where is the customer service? Couldn’t one of them work the floor? Review based only on the cycling department.

Great place to buy outdoor gear. There is always some one to help you and answer you question.

I’m one of those that do not write reviews often, but I have to give a shout out to Joe & Andy in the bike shop for all their help with my bike and gear. Long story short, I’ve been checking out several places for a road bike and gear to get me through my first MS150. Joe, Andy and Bob spent five hours talking to me and answering all the questions I had while juggling other customers. They were not rude and very honest with their opinions. I like that they were easy to talk to and very knowledgeable with the whole biking world. I had a friend on the phone that knows way more about bikes than I do, and even he thought that I was well taken care of. That night I was the last customer to leave, and I walked out not only with my bike and gear, but a wealth of information about cycling! I highly recommend this place!

So far this is the best place in Houston I have found to get all my snowboarding gear. I have been here several time and bought various items ranging from clothing to equipment. There is usually a sale on something for that season. I picked up a pair of snowboarding pants that are normally $ 140.00 for $ 40.00. Yes, they were an off brand but I have been using them for three years and they are awesome. Be sure to check around the store for the various deals when you go. I have had several friends who have done the MS150 and say they get everything from their bikes to riding gear here. When I start mountain biking again I’ll be sure to get my stuff from here. The only reason I can’t give them five stars is my ONE bad experience. I had bought a pair of goggles that needed to be shipped to a store out of state. It was supposed to arrive on Monday, it didn’t. When I called Tuesday to see if it had arrived I was put on hold and went through SEVEN employees who said they were gonna check on it for me. This call lasted an entire 30 minutes. I know it was thirty minutes since it took me thirty minutes to drive there. When I talked to one employee he told me the store was«slammed» and apologized for be on hold. After I heard this and two more people told me there would help I decided to drive down there. When I arrived there were four people in the entire store. I was quite upset and talked to the manager. He apologized and took care of the matter himself. Even though this was a bad experience I have had sooo many good ones here I feel completely comfortable giving them four stars. Good prices, decent selection, and one of the only places to get snowboard gear in Houston makes them a must visit before you next snow vacay.

I bought ski boots from here last year. I was about to sell them on Craigslist because I thought the fit was terrible, but my friend convinced me to take them back to sun and ski first. The boots gave me some discomfort(more so than normal), so I brought them back to be heat-molded and Bob who is the guru boot fitter was a huge help! He went above and beyond! He actually discovered that my heel needed to be raised slightly to reduce the discomfort I experience while carving my turns. Definitely recommend you see Bob for initial boot fitting and any other boot related issues. I will no longer be selling my boots :)

This is the main Sun and Ski where they do all the maintenance for all bikes. It is one of the biggest sun and skis and I can say that this is our favorite one to go to. The store is very presentable, very well organized, and the most important the employees are very nice and attentive. The bike section all the employees are very knowledgable on all bikes. My husband bought a Marin 2013 and this is where he brings it for all tune ups or any type of maintenance. They gave him a good deal along with a $ 350 credit to spend in the store. We always get the best service and the guys are always so helpful in finding a specific product for his bike and what is awesome is that they actually know what they are talking about with the Marin bikes. Marin bikes are not well known so that is why it feels so nice when he has someone that can talk to us about the bike. If my husband is happy then I am happy.

My fav store for bike supplies! The best part is the Sunday social ride! Ride every Sunday and you will get 15% off on all the items you buy at the store. On the top of that all the employees are very very helpful. I bought my road bike as well as mountain bike from this store itself. I highly recommend this store.

So I was super excited to go snowboarding for the FIRST time. never participated in any snow type sports. or really anything on a board. So I was going in really enthusiastic thinking I would walk in, someone would rush to help me, and basically give me the run down on EVERYTHING i would need. Thank god I did my research on my own before I went. FIRST, they dont have the size youll need… in ANYTHING. Its like theyre running low on stock. In my opinion, the selection was really weak. A) Due to lack of sizes, and B) the sections for each individual company were super small. I really wanted to see more northface stuff. They hardly had anything. I asked a guy for help, told him it was my first time. It was just awkward. No enthusiasm at all. I really wanted someone to tell me about all the different layers; glove options. anything really. aaaand i got nothing. so basically i relied on my own research i did prior, tried on odd sizes and assumed another size would fit me(which i could buy cheaper online), and basically that was that. The gloves I bought ended up sucking cause I had no idea what constituted a good or bad glove(the snow soaked through them). Annnnd the baselayer selection was extremely small. Honestly, I dont know if ill go snowboarding again. I was pretty terrible at it but i dont like to give up after one try. Either way, I may just head up to the place I ski at next time and buy my gear there. Wasn’t a fan of this place at all. At least, not for snow gear.

Sun & Ski Westheimer is the place to go for a quick bike tune-up. Cheaper than most places and they won’t try to oversell. The friendly guys(and gal) got my bike back to me within 24 hours, sparkling and pristine. Thanks!

I used to come to this Sun and Ski all the time, anytime I needed anything outdoorsy, this was the place. I bought my road bike here along with a few friends. The guys in the bike dept. are amazing and I cannot fault them — they are always helpful, friendly, polite etc. especially Bob. This 1 star review is not about them — I think they are amazing and deserve 5 stars. However… a few weeks back I went in to purchase some cartridges to take with me on a distance ride and when I had checked out I discovered that I had picked up some threaded and unthreaded. I just wanted threaded as confirmed by the helpful bike guy near the counter. He kindly took the one I didn’t need/want and brought me back the one I did. This was too much for the girl at the counter who couldn’t fathom how I wanted to take both cartridges(yes, after paying for both) away with me. I tried to explain 3 or 4 times and then so did my boyfriend. The manager as this point stepped up and aggressively asked me what the problem was, my problem, no less! I calmly tried to explain again, beginning to feel frustrated now. He then inferred that I was trying to steal a cartridge by not paying for it and dismissed me abruptly telling me to just take it and leave and he would cover whatever cost at the

Sun & Ski is the place you go when you regularly compete or practice strenuous athletic activities. Needless to say I haven’t had much reason to visit, until I got a coupon for $ 20 off my next purchase. So alas, there I was among über fancy and expensive road bikes, flashy wake boards and even ski boots. I decided to stick with what I know and checked out the shoe section. I got lucky and found a great new pair of Asics running shoes and some Reef flip-flops(on clearance too)! With my coupon I got out with a steal, and will definitely come back to check in on future sales!
