I went here on a whim with a colleague after picking up our lunch from next door at J & J Seafood Market. Sugar Rush is very bright inside. The walls are hot pink. They have an assortment of desserts that are reasonably-priced for the most part. The cupcakes are $ 3.50 each and they have some yummy flavors! I ordered the Banana Pudding, Peach Cobbler and Strawberry cupcakes. I also ordered the Strawberry Cupcake-in-a-Cup which looked like a cupcake parfait! I wish I had asked how much that cost before I ordered it. It was $ 8! That seemed a bit high to me. But it was SOOOO worth it! It was VERY sweet though and I love sweets. But sometimes there is a such thing as too sweet. I had to split it into 2 servings because I would have gone into SHOCK if I had eaten it all at once! I tried the Peach Cobbler cupcake and it was good but not as amazing as I was hoping. I still haven’t tried the Banana Pudding cupcake because we went out of town. It’s still in my fridge so I hope it’s still good. I know they are much better when they are fresh. They definitely have a good variety of desserts from Mini Bundt Cakes, Mini Cheesecakes, Cookies, Tea Cakes, etc. I would definitely go back so I could try more flavors.

Not bad but not very profession and has no concept of supply and demand because they forever running out of stuff. I called to get a cake prices for a upcoming graduation. Three months later I’m still waiting for them to call me back after three follow up emails and two calls. I did enjoy their infused cupcakes and scandalous cheesecake.

Customer service was good and the actually cake part of the cupcake was delicious. Unfortunately the icing was way too dense and sugary for my liking… It literally felt like I was eating pure sugar

I like the fact that they have infused cupcakes and cake balls. The scandalous cheesecake is delicious. However they don’t always have it together so don’t expect fast, accurate, or good service. You many need half a day to wait for your treats and it might be smart to have a backup plan. I wanted to order a specialty cake for a special event. I sent my request Feb 2nd for an event in June. Called back to find out why they had not responded twice and they blew me off. Called three other places and got a response within two days. So guess who I spent my money with… NOTSUGARRUSH!!!

WOW! everything is awesome! The only bad thing… they run out of what I love the most… sweet potato cheese cake! which just means it’s that good!

I’m so glad to have found this place. I ordered the red velvet cupcakes. Delicious, fluffy and so moist. Can’t wait to go back and try more sweets.

I popped in for some treats and was immediately greeted by that wonderful aroma that has, in my opinion, become synonymous with Sugar Rush. If you’ve been there before, you know what I’m talking about. If you’ve yet to go, what are you waiting for? Today I picked-up a mini sweet potato pie for Sunday dessert.(Yes. I still honor that tradition.) And, it was still a tad warm on the bottom. That truly speaks to the freshness of the items offered. I also took the recommendation of my beautician and tried the peach cobbler cupcake. I wasn’t too sure about that combination but all I can say is, Good Lawd! It’s good to the last bite.

If you are too lazy to dump a cake mix into a bowl and slather it with a can of frosting, go to Sugar Rush, because they will do it for you. I have tried this«bakery» on several occasions and each time been more disappointed. There is always a long line out the door. None of the baked items they sell are actually on display. When you finally get up to the front of the line the person at the counter goes in the back and brings out your item. Of course you have no idea how long it’s been sitting there because you can’t see it until it’s dumped into a cheap take out plastic tray. The flavor is artificial and not quality If you’re looking for real buttercream(made with butter), whipped cream, or a homemade taste, look elsewhere. This stuff is cheap, belly filler.

Went to Sugar Rush 12÷19÷15& the service was horrible! I ordered 3 mini Cakes and after 30+ mins they come and say no Carrot Cakes were available & still baking… mind you it’s 12 noon on a Saturday & they had just open and wasn’t busy. I then order an Italian Cream in place of the Carrot Cake. I wait another 10 – 15 mins & they say they don’t have any. I then ask for a Red Velvet & finally something was available. I get home & my family ask did I order the 2 Chocolate & Red Velvet from a different bakery because those cake had homely décor & didn’t look anything like the cakes from SugarRush. The cakes were smaller & placed on a plastic saucer & the boxes the cakes were placed in was dirty. I was too embarrassed & couldn’t take the sh$t to my co-workers. I try to support Black Businesses but must admit it’s extremely difficult because the service start out good & fall off along the way! By the way their Banana Pudding is horrible with a plastic container full runny box pudding, 3 slices bananas & cheap cookies!!!

The people here are always great. Even when they are busting at the seams they are polite, professional and courteous. They engage with each customer individuality. Sometimes that personal touch results in extended lines so I don’t suggest going if you are in a hurry unless you managed to order ahead. I took my mom once but she’s a cake snob and refused to try them bc they were box cakes. While this may be true I personally enjoy the cakes because they are always light and fluffy and the icing are the perfect compliment to each flavors. I love to bake but I appreciate letting some one else do it from time to time especially if it’s this good. So far I’ve tried the tuxedo and the lemon Blondie. The tuxedo is good but I LOVE the lemon Blondie. I’m also a fan of the peach cobbler. All ladies that work the counter are great and keep the business flowing. I think it’s a nice neighborhood bakery to frequent

DONTBELIEVETHEHYPE… Pretty cupcakes, BUT I had a lot better at HEB!!! Parking lot is always full, but they do share it with a few businesses!!! 25 dollars for something that wasn’t worth the half a gallon of gas I wasted going there!!! Never again!!!

I was in the area and stumbled across this place… when I walked in there was a line so I figured it was worth the wait. I was not disappointed. I got a mini sweet potato pie and tea cakes. The tea cakes weren’t fortunate enough to get a pic because I ate em before I posted this review but the pie made it. If I’m ever in this area again, this place will be seeing more of me

So I heard about this place from one of my coworkers. I was telling her how I miss my grandma bake goods an she suggested I try this place. I must say I’m impressed I never thought I could get a red velvet just like my grandmas but looks like I have found a good dupe for it lol. This place is definitely a must try an I will be going back .also she has peach cobbler cake omg! I didn’t get to try it because she was sold out. I forgot to add the line was outside smh but anyway it was worth the wait.

Peach and Blackberry cobbler made like an old school Granny. Love it and need more. On last week i was brought Peach cobbler and a 24 Carrot Cupcake.(Thanks Honey!) Both were delicious. This place has everything a «sugar addict» such as myself needs. This place will have a visit from me soon.

I’ve tried the 7-Up Pound Cake(very dense, not too sweet), the square of butter cake with lemon glaze(nothing in this tastes artificial at all!), and the buttermilk pie. This place gets four stars from me because of the buttermilk pie. I bought it and didn’t inspect it carefully enough and realized it had spots of mold on it when I went home. I returned the next day and they offered me an exchange without a problem. However, I went home and tried it today and thought it was okay. The cakes I’ve had were truly amazing, but this pie tastes too sweet and not try custardy. I had expected it to be a little more eggy inside, but it seemed as though there was so much sugar/buttermilk that it had turned closer to the consistency of pecan pie than a buttermilk custard. I wouldn’t get it again, but I would DEFINITELY revisit this spot because of how nice they are and how good their cakes are

Omg. Omg. Omgggg. I have never had any better gourmet cakes or cupcakes before this place. I walked in and was amazed at the display, just a array of cakes and cupcakes like youve never seen before! The place was tastefully decorated, the staff was extra bubbly, and that added even more glam! I was instantly strucked by what they called a «Lady in Red», which is a red velvet cupcake, I went on and ordered it with glee! Went right outside and ate it in the car while I waited for everyone else. I actually went to check in on here and what do you know, instant coupon! Went right back in and proceeded to purchase a mini german chocolate cake and a cute mini cake and cupcake that was pink and glittery, and a cake with red velvet crumbles atop. It was all very good! I’ll def recommend this to anyone who comes through Houston as their cakes are wonderful and tasty!
