I moved here two years ago because it was unbelievably cheap. Two years later I’m ready to spend more to move out of the ghetto. The management is responsive when things go wrong but they break constantly. My neighbors are friendly… at all times of the day and night they are outside carrying on loud conversations and drinking. Drug deals go down regularly on my doorstep. Giant SUV’s pulling up with their bass turned up at 3AM, or weekend morning. Dog poop and trash everywhere. Kids screaming and running around unsupervised.
Velero across the street gets robbed frequently. Shots fired a couple of times. This is the ghetto. If you were wondering where it was, you have found it. If you are looking for cheap prices with a nice management staff and generally friendly neighbors, its ok. Just don’t expect to come home and relax at the end of the day if you want any peace and quiet.

These apartments are only for the extreme budget-​conscious.
You will be calling the office for repairs every month — a/​c, refrigerator, etc (at least this was my experience). Then there are the loud neighbors — loud night and day. And they’re trashy, and by that I mean they leave all their trash in the grass and parking lot. There is nearly always loads of trash scattered about the lawn. To top it off, these apts have plenty of roaches.
The office staff is nice enough, but the apts are crap. Besides, they don’t keep the hours posted on the door; I went to the office so many times when they should be open but weren’t – and they were NOT just out showing apts, they just flat out were not there when they were supposed to be.
These apts are cheap, but there are reasons why — and it’s likely not worth the few bucks you’ll save. You’ve been warned.
