Delicious and cheap donuts, Chicago take note. Since I really shouldn’t be downing a half dozen by myself right now having just had lunch, I practiced some restraint and only bought two. These are really good. I stopped by in the afternoon and they were still fresh and soft. It was obviously difficult to choose which two I should scarf down before cramming in Whataburger but I went with the glazed and a chocolate glazed. I really wanted to try their apple fritter but I stopped myself unfortunately. Their chocolate glazed is incredible– it’s not a lame regular glazed with chocolate frosting, it’s chocolate dough that’s super soft and pillowy– so fucking good. It’s like a hug! I’m getting that one again for sure! The regular glazed one was also satisfying. Two donuts that were fantastic for under two bucks. Heck yes. I’d choose these over donuts in Chicago any day! So good. Worth it, and I’m glad there’s a lot of them scattered in Houston.

I love this shipley’s. They are constantly making fresh donuts which is awesome since I only eat them when they are hot! Go here at least once a week!

It was an exciting opening date for me about this location because the closest one I could recalled would require me to drive all the way over to Veterans Memorial where I try to stay away from for that area. You will find mostly Hispanics working here front and back but you won’t necessarily have to speak Spanish to get your order in. I have never had any bad run ins with the staff here during my 20th time visiting so that’s a good thing I guess? I have yet to bite down on a stale donut, maybe borderline but this might have been at like 5 p.m. where the donuts were probably made 12 hours ago. Parking is small and a hassle during peak times like most Shipley’s so not hing different here about that. Parking in the morning like around 6 a. m will have you feeling a little weary since there are a few business in the close proximity in the back t hat are not open yet and no lights on leaving you exposed to anybody that would want to do harm in the cover of the almost nill lighting in the parking lot. There are two ways to exit, the Bammel North Houston side which is impossible if there is any type of traffice and the 249 front side where it is much easy to exit or you can wait for a light cycle to get you a void between the madness. ============================================== Tips to New Unilocalers: One lined reviews like«This place rocks», «Had the tacos, delicious» is not really helpful to other viewers that really want to know about the place you have visited. Not necessarily saying write a term paper but maybe a short paragraph minimum. Do it, you’ll feel better about yourself and proud of your reviews.
