This is the closest HPL location to me, but I never come here. It is filthy, no space at all, staff is rude. I was harrassed here by another user, and was also informed by a staff member that thefts happen regularly. So that’s the kind of crowd you can expect here. By far the worst library I have ever been to(and I’ve been to plenty across the globe).

This joke of s library is filthy place that stinks like hell. There is no silence and people are talking loudly over the phone and among themselves. I came here because my fort end library was closed. I made the worst mistake of my life since I could not study in peace for a second. Kids running around and people talking. You can study and concentrate for a second. Never coming back here !!!

This is the closest one to me. But I don’t like it because the computers are so old and slow. And a library should be quiet for people who want to read or study like me, but sometimes it gets really noisy. But I still go there a lot because of convenience.

Good just need more computers. Too Long a wait during busy hours. And people it’s a library a place to be quiet so you still need to take your phone off speaker phone. Believe me no one else wants to hear your conversations.

This library stays PACKED all day and everyday. I love libraries in general because they are FREE and they offer safety from the outdoor elements, with a controlled environment, furniture, electricity, and wi-fi. But that means everyone is in here. They also offer computers for people to use. It’s just every computer is literally being used for something naughty. As I walked by every screen had some kind of half naked girl on the screen. I guess sometimes it’s just worth it to pay for a drink and study/work at a coffee shop.

This library branch has free WiFi, a spacious meeting room, and a pretty big children’s section. They host lots of children’s events, too. The rest of the selection is kinda medium — some audio books, some fiction, and a lot of non-fiction. I usually find about 40% of what I’m looking for at this branch and have the rest shipped over through an online request. The computer situation at this branch is great, though. Lots of internet access, a free Chronicle-sponsored job application kiosk, and helpful volunteers to get you started if you’re computer-uncertain. The staff here is actually pretty great overall, and they usually have people around who speak Spanish, Chinese, and Vietnamese. Self-checkout makes borrowing quick and easy(and, don’t forget that you can renew online!)
