I visited with a young baby, small child, and an older woman. We wanted something to split — weren’t super hungry, and my mother can’t eat certain breads. The woman working the window was incredibly helpful and told us that splitting the tempura and bonsai rolls would fill us up. There was a slight wait — but they make everything fresh and there was quite of a line. It was obviously the most popular truck there. We had a shady table to sit at and enjoy the weather so we werent bothered. The girl even brought us the food straight to our table which felt personable. The food was GREAT! The tempura was as addictive as french fries and the bonsai rolls were a nice size. But those sauces that came with it were the real stars! YUMMMY! The chef came out and waved to the crowd at the end of lunch service, and the girl was checking to make sure everyone was pleased with their meals. Overall, I will be returning. For the price and what I got, I felt very satisfied. Plus, they often go to locations that are convenient for me since I work in the Engineering field(Galleria, Energy Corridor).

Absolutely delicious! I visited Quite A Stir while visiting some relatives in Houston and thoroughly enjoyed it! The Maui Wowie has pieces of pineapple mixed in with the stir fry(it sounded strange to me so I gave it a try!) Who knew pineapple and soy sauce went so well together! These guys obviously know what they are doing, definitely give them a try! Oh man and their eggrolls with cilantro crème fraîche are to die for!

Had a pretty poor experience the first time. Decided to give it a second shot before writing the review. My first time was a month or two ago, and I ordered The Classic. I think it’s way too salty, and has way too much sauce in the bottom of the bowl. Most importantly: Some of my rice was cold. Think about for a second. I was served stir-fry… that had cold rice. Come on, man. I was pretty put-off, but I gave it a second shot and decided to go with their shrimp fried rice special with a fried egg add-on. World’s smallest egg, but everything else was okay. My first experience was a 1-star, but the second time was a 3-star, so I am splitting the difference of those scores, which I feel is fairly appropriate. Take my review with a grain of salt, because I’m not a big fan of stir-fry anyway, but at least I gave it a second shot.

Pros: –Fresh veggies. –Perfectly cooked noodles(not too soft but not undercooked either). –The tofu lo mein was recommended to me because I like spicy foods and it was the perfect amount of spicy; no sriracha needed! –Really liked the lo mein sauce(garlicy and spicy). –Loved the Vietnamese coffee. Cons: –Price: Now I understand that food trucks tend to be on the pricier side and I’ve accepted that; it’s a hard business to operate and I’m willing to pay more for quality and freshness. And the portion size at Quite A Stir wasn’t stingy in the slightest. It was a great size; I’m full. I probably shouldn’t have eaten every bite, but there wasn’t enough to have a second meal out of the portion. And that’s where I get stuck; I just can’t get comfortable with spending $ 15 for lunch(the lo mein, coffee, and tip) and not ending up with leftovers. –Very salty; I love salt, but 3 hours later and I can’t quench my thirst. –Lo mein was almost soupy; there was lot of extra sauce. Overall, did I love it? I didn’t 5 stars LOVE it, but it was great, quality, fresh food. I will definitely be trying another of their dishes.

Quite A Stir is causing quite a stir… in my BRAIN! After I tried QAS for the first time, I found myself thinking about it often ad even craving it! It only took me two visits to find my forever dish(Whoa Mein with shrimp and all the veggies, easy sauce, ramp up the spice with a Vietnamese coffee and an egg roll with extra crème fraîche, please!!) I kept telling myself that I would try something new and each time, my brain has failed me. «Curbside Stir Fry» is correct! You order your food and the chef heats up that wok and starts tossing in fresh veggies, proteins, noodles and other yummy things! After the first bite, you can tell that the veggies are FRESHHH because they aren’t soggy and mushy from being frozen and reheated. They are tender but with bite, which is a perfectly fresh cooked veggie in my book. Also, my shrimp has been perfectly cooked every time. Any home cook would know how quickly shrimp can go from being perfect to rubbery. It is always piping hot which is perfect if you plan to take it home or back to the office to eat it; it will still be hot once you get to your destination. The serving sizes are more than enough. I usually eat about half for lunch and then eat the rest for dinner. Their containers are perfect for just popping into the microwave and reheating! I usually spend between $ 10-$ 16 each visit(it will obviously vary from person to person) which to some might be a lot for«take out.» But when I stand back and think about all that I’m getting(FRESH and real food, hot and made to order, delicious and convenient) I am truly getting what I pay for and I am more than happy to stand behind that! Especially in times when many people are more conscious of what goes into our food! I will note that I ordered the Maui Wowie on my first visit and it was too saucy(which basically meant too salty) for my palette. I’m not a huge fan of saucy(I like just enough to coat the veggies) and I’m very picky about the amount of salt in my food, so it’s not necessarily a strike against QAS as much as it is a personal preference. I fixed that by asking for light sauce, which was not a problem, and it was perfect for me! Which brings me to my final point: their menu is extremely customizable! You have various proteins, veggies, carb and sauce options at your disposal. Don’t want pineapple in your Maui Wowie? Omit it! Is zucchini your favorite veggie ever? Ask for it in your dish! The couple is stupidly nice and friendly, you should have no problem getting your order just the way you like it! And I don’t know about you but ordering from someone who acts like they hate their job kind of ruins the vibe for me. So it’s an added bonus that these guys are friendly and super helpful. Notable Mentions: The tempura fried veggies are AMAZING. I’m not a fan of deep fried anything but the broccoli and zucchini are to die for. The Vietnamese coffee is so good that I’m actually sad when they are at a location the prohibits them from serving drinks. The crème fraîche will change your life, eat it on everything. In summation, if you’re looking for delicious, super fresh food cooked to order and served by friendly faces, Quite A Stir is your food truck! Thanks for reading, folks! Remember to tip your waitresses ;)

I thoroughly enjoyed Quite A Stir. The food definitely tasted fresh and just like what I expected from the description. Everything was cooked to perfection: the beef was tender and juicy, the broccoli was cooked but still retained a crispness. I recommend getting a fried egg, it adds an amazing element to an already delicious plate! The portion size was just enough to fill me up and there were generous amounts of meat. The staff was very helpful and willing to make suggestions. Definitely fun talking with them. I’ll be back!

They’re okay. I’m a huge stir fry fan, so I was pretty excited when they were parked at my office building. It was decent, but I had a few main issues: –I don’t like that it’s $ 10 a bowl. Seems a little pricey for what you get. –They charge $ 0.50 extra to «make it spicy.» Considering there was absolutely zero heat without that, I don’t see why you’d charge extra for that. –They don’t take Amex. I know their fees are slightly higher, but it’s still a pet peeve of mine. –My food was pretty salty. I’m not a terribly picky eater, but you have to really like soy sauce to not be caught off guard by the salt levels. That being said, it’s worth checking out if you like stir fry. Very well could be up your alley. They were nice, the truck was super clean, and the ingredients were obviously good quality.

I wanted to try this truck because it was new and I just wanted give them some business. I ordered the brocolli, beef and shrimp with lomein. It came out in lil bowl and it was all noodles that tastes more like spaghetti. Im sure it was spaghetti, beef was cut into cubes and cooked to death. Brocolli way over cooked and yellow but what mostly concerned me was the sauce that just sat at the bottom of the bowl which was vinegar and chili. Just way too watered down with no starch or soy in the sauce. I enjoy hot food but this was served so hot it made everything over cooked. I didnt ask for my money back but I did ask to try something else and egg rolls also just confused me again. Pork filling dry as a bone and the coleslaw mix inside it just didnt work. Sometimes a simple idea is the right path to go on dont try to reinvent the wheel. Especially if your are going to do any asian style food. Everthing thing I tried was missing ginger, garlic and green onion, three items you have to use. I would stick to using round or Flap meat and thin slice it vs cubing, and cook it to order instead of just letting it die in warming pan. Not trying to be a jerk but it was 11 bucks. I would spend a lil time eating on bellaire and reevaluate your concept.

I have been wanting to try this truck for weeks. When we were finally both in the same place at the same time, they were sold out of almost everything. I guess they underestimated their awesomeness and aired on the side of caution with the amount of food they brought with them. Today, however. They were MIIIIIINE!!! We ordered 3 of their Bonsai rolls(came with 2 dips) for $ 5 and a simply chicken bowl with noodles. The food came out piping hot, portions were well sized, the ingredients are clearly fresh, they didn’t scrimp on the«good stuff», there was plenty of chicken in the bowl and pork in the egg roll. Love this food truck, yummy, hot, fresh and healthy. We’ll be back!
