By far the best Mexican Restaurant I’ve ever been to. The food never ceases to amaze me and the best they have the Rita’s

My husband and I needed a fast place go grab breakfast on the way to an all day appointment. We planned to drive to Kelly’s but he forgot his phone at home so we lost a half hour. Since relocating to Katy from Bellaire, I am lacking a good choice of traditional taqueria type food. We have Arandas out there but it’s good when no one else is around OR I’m drunk or hungover. Now that I’m well into my thirties and have kids and God help me– teens, neither of those things happen much anymore, so I am more particular about the quality of my food, very particular about the customer service, the cleanliness and the presentation. Basically you can call me a sucker for food porn, hard core food porn, and this place quenched my thirst in ALL areas. They left me and my husband more than satisfied and wanting more, only our bellies would have imploded if either of us kept going. From the chips and amazing warm, fresh red salsa, to the very spicy green sauce that exceeds the word authentic(gringos beware unless you were quite possibly Mexican in your previous life like me, and prefer it spicy), to the fresh brewed ice tea that didn’t taste like city sewage with a touch of Lipton like other taqueria locations(uh hem Arandas) and actually was Southern five star brewed, to the Breakfast torta filled with everything you can cram in it and chorizo spilling out the sides(I’m not a chorizo fan, but it even looked food porn sexy to me) to my divorced eggs which came with beautiful poached eggs that they asked me how I wanted cooked!(That has never happened in a taqueria-well done y’all) Divorced eggs so you know have a sexier Spanish name but I call it divorced eggs because that’s how it translates in English. I became a fan of these things back when I got divorced and found it comical that I was eating my life on a plate. Now that I’m happily remarried it is nice to enjoy food porn on Sunday morning with my sexy husband and share in divorced eggs together. Ah, we will be back. Trust me, you have given us a reason to get up at 6am on a Sunday and hit 10/wirt road in style before 8am. Who needs Starbucks next door. I’ll go for the food porn here and make sure I start getting my fix of divorced eggs more often than not! Our waitress was Matilde and she is SO nice. I tip well for good service but she far exceeded our expectations so she will be having a good morning compliments of Chris and Bobbi;-)

Great atmosphere, goes hand and hand with great food, love the green salsa. The food has a really home cooked feel to it, you can tell everything is made fresh daily, definitely a place I will continue to return, and not just for the margaritas

I’m just happy. First thing that comes to mind — not only was the bill 12.99 for 2 people, but the food… Was exceptional. The eggs in the huevos Divorciados were perfectly poached(took a photo, should be in the gallery) the beans weren’t salty – there was a great portion of skirt steak and the corn tortillas were made in house– everything A+ — I would honestly put these chefs up against some of the best brunch restaurants in Houston. Check this place out

Alright. So I had a business presentation that needed breakfast for 45 people. I called them 15 minutes before closing asking for 80 breakfast tacos and sides for the very next morning at 8am. They were perfectly on time, added some free extras and everybody LOVED the breakfast tacos, they all asked me where I got them. Sus breakfast tacos son bien chingones.

We ordered 6 plates to go for six people and didn’t get any limes, when we went back to ask if we could have some limes, they charged us $ 2.17 for just a handful of sliced limes. We are all definitely skipping this restaurant next time we order anything. Oh and the chicken breast tasted alright but it was paper thin…

I am a vegetarian. First time I ate here, it was alright. Next time I took my family over here, sat down, when the waiter brought the menu, i asked him«what vegetarian options you have»…he said«no vegetarian, this is mexican food» and started walking away! Then I smiled and politely asked him again, «I eat mexican food all the time, and I have eaten here before, most places have veg options and most of them accommodate by not adding meat, would it be possible for you to make something ?»…before i could say half the sentence he rudely said«no vegetarian» and walked away. The restaurant had only 2 tables with customers, rest empty. Walked out politely and enjoyed dinner at another lovely place. Too bad manager was not available that day. It is just unfortunate to find such rude employees in service industry sometimes and restaurant(which might actually serve decent food) suffers. FYI, i am not saying serve me veg food else restaurant is bad, but there is a manner to talk and welcome customers. THAT was unacceptable. I understand sometimes people might be having a bad day and I do smile and make efforts from my side to be extra nice. Even that didn’t help here.

Oh man what an awesome spot. Margaritas were on point… Food came out hot and fast, tasted authentic. Everything seemed fresh. I told my sister and she took our parents to confirm that it is the real deal! Love this place.

The staff is courteous and very on point. We sat down and immediately they greeted us with chips and salsa. The food is delicious and there Margaritas are made«FRESH» I had there strawberry margarita and it was OMG! Heaven in my mouth!!! BESTMARGARITAEVER! Boyfriend had a michelada and there michelada sauce is like no other also made by them. I highly recommend this restaurant either to eat or have a drink you can come by and enjoy the music.

I have been a customer for over two years and this last experience was not so good! On top of bringing out my order wrong we asked that it be fixed the waitress confronted us saying that the order was correct and that was the way it was supposed to be. For two years I ordered the same thing and never had this issue. The waitress after a few minutes corrected the issue. When the tab was brought out the waitress decided to charge us extra for adding what was missing on my order. I left a small tip. After the transaction cleared on my account I noticed that the waitress decided to leave herself a bigger tip. Food brought out wrong! Waitress decided to leave her own tip!!! Lost a customer for life!!!

Poor service Had the servers come up 3 – 4 times to review my order and to see if I’ve placed an order. I asked for sour cream and they charged my $ 1.50 for it. When I received the sour cream it had greasy finger print on the side and the almost in the inner part of the bowl. Would not recommend.

I had the beef fajita lunch plate with rice, beans, & cheese enchilada. Fajita was ok, not too chewy but not too tender. Had a pretty good flavor. Charro beans were good. Salsa as well. Rice was cooked right, soft. New building but tables are not overly clean, found a couple of them sticky.(Like old tables) Nice servers-latinas, but not well attentive.

I’ve been here a couple times for lunch, and it is okay. The service is a little slow, but friendly. They have some decent lunch specials. The salsa that comes with the chips has a small kick. My biggest complaint-the lunch menu Tacos de Jalapenos does not say what kind of meat it comes with, so I ordered them with chicken. When they were brought out, it was shrimp and I was told that is how they are made… that’s all well and good, but I am allergic to shrimp, can’t even touch it, so I had to send them back. They remade them with chicken, and it was very tasty. Shrimp allergies are not uncommon, so #1-list it on your menu if that’s the only option and #2-if someone orders them with a different meat, don’t just bring them out with shrimp anyway…
